As far as hotel restaurants go, this is one of the better ones. This time, I had a steak sandwich and it was perfectly cooked and the toppings and roll were well-matched and fresh. Our server was nice and attentive, but not too much since she knew that we had work to finish up before we could turn in for the night. While the sandwich with fries was a little over $20, I feel like it could easily be shared. The fires were also very good: hot and fresh and somewhere between "regular" and "steak" or plank-style fries. We also had potato skins -- and they don't use small potatoes or skimp on the cheese and bacon. I wouldn't say there is much in the way of "ambiance" since it is located in the hotel lobby, and sometimes there is live music, which I think is a little distracting in such a small space and, well, inside the hotel lobby (though the lobby is 12 floors of hard surfaces and largely open space) read more

On the first floor of The Westin, this bar & bistro serves good food, good drinks & great service. Potato skins: great cheese to potato to bacon ratio. Only one skin was over fried. Excellent blackened chicken. Chicken wings weren't the best but I prefer crispy so that may be why. I stayed at this hotel for over two weeks and enjoyed the food options here. Their salads are great & desert is yummy too. Shrimp tacos are very filling! The bartenders are all very nice especially the older blonde lady. read more

One of the most phenomenal restaurants I've been to inside a hotel. Simply put - great quality for the price, attentive servers, and surprisingly delicious food! You never have to leave the hotel because they have such a variety of foods to choose from and overall is delicious. Another highlight was that there was a special box of assorted Tazo teas to choose from which I highly recommend. On both evenings, the young guy Max was our server for our group and both times delivered exceptional service. He is also a great photographer to take photos of your party! You can also enjoy the outdoor patio where there is plenty of seating and views out to the beautiful trail around the pond. It's a very nice area and I would have stayed out there all day sipping a glass of moscato. Overall, I was very pleased with this restaurant and the hotel in general. They've got some really polite staff on the off days, but if you go during a conference expect to be pulling out your phone to find directions to the nearest grocery store for food or drinks instead of going here. If you are here and it's quiet and or it's a Sunday during their happy hour, definitely stop by for the cauliflower buffalo wings - they were shockingly good. The rest of the food wasn't horrible but it was all pretty salty. The local IPAs when they're on special for $5 are great too, so if you can make it to the happy hour for your visit aim for that time range but not outside of it. The prices can get pretty high for the same stuff outside of happy hour. read more

The restaurant is inside the Westin hotel in Itasca, Illinois. The ambiance is open in the atrium of the hotel. It's filled with plants extremely open all the way to the roof with a glass ceiling. Very convenient if you want to cocktail, grab a quick bite. I didn't sit and eat but I waited for my order and took it back to my room. and saying that, though, the staff were very attentive when you walk in and even ask if you would like a cocktail or a glass of water while you wait. I was looking for a quick bite to eat before getting on the road the the hotel bar was the best plan for an afternoon lunch. I kept it simple with the wings and steak fries but the other options on the menu looked very unique and appealing. The service was pretty quick since no one was really in the hotel which was nice. They have a few TVs you can watch and in the evening they were offering some happy hour specials. My steak fries were so good. Crispy and light salted we're perfect with my wings. I was a vendor for an event hosted at the Westin and needed to grab dinner. Overall I felt the meal was good. The price was a little higher than what I'd pay for lunch during an event like this normally. It was a good deal for the amount of food you received though. I got the club sandwich and fries. You got quite a bit of fries and they were fresh. The club was good. I wouldn't call it the best club I've had but I enjoyed it and if I was there again and needed a meal I'd go for it again. I could have used more lettuce on it. Part of the sandwich was a bit dry without the veg on that part. Also part had too much mayo. The service was good. Was able to order at the bar to go back to the banquet room. Meal was ready in the time they told me. So overall good experience. read more

Came here for taco night and tequila tasting with a few girls. Beautiful view of the lake and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Mariachi band was playing and being out on the back patio was relaxing with comfortable seating. I wasn't expecting much from the tacos but they were surprisingly one of the best tacos I've had. Very juicy and they had out on the table a variety of toppings to add. Got there during the day and by evening time, they had their lights on which was a nice touch. Service was excellent. Staff checked in on us at a timely matter. We didn't have to wait too long for really anything. The next drink was offered and placed right away! Great place to be for happy hour. read more

I decided to eat at this restaurant at the end of the trade show I was attending at the Westin Hotel Itasca because the weather was getting cold and windy, and I had a late night flight out of Midway Airport. I ordered the French onion soup which had a nice toasted cheese crust. The soup was delicious and rich. I decided to order the Illinois Farm Salad with added grilled chicken as my entree. The salad was composed of field greens, goat cheese, walnuts, dried cranberries and slivered green apples. The dressing was a delicious pomegranate vinaigrette. I was very satisfied with my salad, and I was happy I was not too full to fly that night. Service was excellent, but I did pay hotel prices for my food as the check was over $30. It's great. We had the entire family ( three kids and two adults , 2-42 years old) here two days in a row. Both times, the food was delicious and well above average for a hotel buffet. Everything was super clean. The juice options are incredible. They have beet & carrot juice - and a few more. The food was always fresh. The wait staff was attentive and polite. I'd give it a 5 rating if the had an omelet station. read more

Been eating here off and on for a month. Most everything on the menu is good. Buffalo wings, pulled lamb sliders and peppered flat iron steak are my favorite. The beef tips are some of the most tender I have had in a long time. I can't say I like the taste though. Marinated in some sauce. Would have liked them just plain. Bartenders and wait staff are fantastic. The only problem we have is you can't bring out side drinks to patio out back. That seems to get the manager riled up. I can understand not bringing outside drinks to the bar, but on the patio of the hotel, no. After all this place is a hotel. read more

The renovation at this Westin have by and large dramatically improved this hotel. I generally like the feel of Westin's and this one generally fits the style - modern, clean lined, and in this case a little cold. I are one lunch here and we met for drinks twice, so the review is limited to that. I had a decent Cobb salad that suffered a bit from too much iceberg or the non green part of romaine. The blue cheese dressing saved things a bit and was a good version, nicely runny and not too gloppy. My coworker enjoyed her burger and the sweet potato fries were thin planks and nicely crisp. We stayed at the Westin for a week and ate at this restaurant for dinner several times, we ordered something different each time and we were satisfied every single time! We tried the veggie wrap, steak sandwich, wings, lamb sliders, burger, shrimp salad, and the salmon entree, all very super yummy!!! The breakfast buffet is also served here and we really enjoyed that they changed the menu slightly day to day so we didn't get bored with the food. We also had some really great servers!!! If you're staying at the hotel, I'd definitely recommend eating here especially if you're looking for something great to eat in a relaxed setting. Overpriced hotel food, decent happy hour with okay drinks. The true and largest problem with this restaurant is the service, the manager John ruined our otherwise decent dining experience with his nasty attitude and forceful intrusion on our dining experience.
