I was initially dubious about going to this auto place; it's less than pristine or modern looking. My son has lived in Kyle about 3 years now and he encouraged me to bring my car for servicing since he knows I prefer local mechanics to corporate mechanics. Well, this is definitely a mom and Pop shop! And a grandpa shop, too! My Prius is in great shape but it's a 2008 model. I regularly change the oil and get it inspected. Nothing too dramatic or challenging, so I figured I'd give them a try. As soon as I arrive, I fell in love with the place and the folks. They treated me like family and we were on a first name basis immediately. Karen explained their daily work routine and their limitations on hybrids. She was a one person show in the office and kept very busy. I was so impressed by her professionalism that I was inspired to bring my other vehicles for things like window motors, front headlight bulb replacement, battery check, and spark plugs check. All accomplished with a "got it done " with a smile attitude! Each time they look for the simplest fix first then go on with your approval. My, oh My! I take all of our vehicles here for inspection. Quick and easy. Karen is always sweet and awesome! My oldest needs new brakes and rotors, she gave us an awesome fair price with a quick turnaround to get my teenagers truck back on the road. I highly recommend. I've been going to 4-Way Auto since I first moved out to Kyle 14 years or so ago. They have always treated me fairly. Their prices are very reasonable, and even when I was a bit down financially when a costly repair would come about, they would do what they could to work with me in order to pay for the needed repairs. I've never had to take any vehicles back to them because of something they've done wrong. I am even comfortable letting my wife deal with them, and that is a rarity. They've never tried to say or do something that I felt was unneeded or questionable. I have a strong relationship with them. We're on first name basis. It's a nice family run business, and they treat you as such, from the husbands and sons that run the shop to the wives and mothers that help to run the office. I've gone to 4-Way al few times over the last year or two. They are the established auto shop in town.. Have been around for along time... I've lived in Kyle for 12 years and they were "the local shop" back then. They've done oil changes, brake jobs and a few other things to my cars. I always feel like I'm being talked TO and not AT. Funny, the thing that spurred me to write this review is because I didn't get my car done with them this last time... I took it to them because I needed an alignment and they were totally swamped... So they told me where to go to get the same quality service...at a similar price. That right there was amazing in my book... Not only did they apologize for not being able to get me in, they knew it needed to be done that day and, even though it meant losing my business for that transaction, they suggested a valid alternative. Excellent service! Seems like my entire family are born and raised car mechanics... so I can usually know when I'm getting ripped off! I really liked their expertise and all the information they gave me prior to fixing my AC. It was kinda expensive, but I was really happy when my AC was working in over 100 degree weather. They were nice people but I wasn't terribly impressed with the outcome of my car. My car was overheating and I had a check engine light on. So I took it in and here's what i paid for: Coolant Pipe Hose- $48.97 + Coolant- $19.99+ Tax- $5.69+ Labor- $80.00= $154.65. Then I took it in again a month later and here's what I paid for: Valve Cover Gasket-$41.63+ Coolant -$19.99+ Tax- $7.13+ Labor- $80.00=$173.51. I spent a total of $325.16 and I'm still having trouble with my 2011 Chevy Cruz. read more

When I need work done I take it here. First used them about 10 years ago when we moved here and they were recommended. I have had them do clutches in two different vehicles. Work was done timely and a reasonable price. Above all us I had to take one car back afterwards because it started to get hard to shift. Looked at it fixed it under warranty without a fuss. How many places do that nowadays without trying to blame you for ruining their "good" work? I am usually able to do my own car work but if i don;t have time or lacking the tools and equipment to do it, I have no problems letting them take care of it. The mechanics are friendly as can be even if you stop by late in the evenning and ask questions. Above all else my wife trusts them and is comfortable having work done there without feeling ripped off. read more

About a month ago I bought 4 brand new tires all the same in Austin. I got a nail stuck in one tire and went here to patch it up. Well when it was complete I noticed they put a completely different tire on my car. I told the gentleman and he argued that it was my tire. He even went as far as telling me that he marked my tire that is how I would know it was my tire. Well I'm sure they mark all the tires in the shop. It just makes me wonder how many other people this has happened to. read more

This is not only the best place in Kyle to get your auto or truck fixed it is the best place I have ever been in the Austin, San Marcos, or Houston area. I had a very good auto person in Houston but 4 Way Auto has him beat. All the employees and owner are kind, honest, very friendly, and have only the best intentions for you and your auto. I used a AAA shop to get a free 40 point inspection. The inspection suggested that I get my transmission fluid replaced. In checking with auto repair shops around Kyle for prices for the recommended work, 4 Way informed me that Toyota had put out a notification that transmission fluid replacement was not necessary for my vehicle. Always honest, great service. One auto repair place in austin told me I needed a 2000 repair. I took it here for a second opinion. Their diagnosis was much different, and much cheaper. Spent a couple hundred bucks and the car runs great. I live out of town and I still bring my car in to see them if I have any issues. read more

I recently had the unfortunate need to replace the heads and spark plugs on my 2006 Jeep Commander. My tow driver recently mm ended John and his staff. It was a big job that took a few weeks but he gave me a fair price and they were easy to communicate with. They even gave me a follow up call a few days after I got it back. Great people. read more

I took my car in for the state inspection. After waiting for over an hour in their dirty waiting area, the old repair guy tried to tell me that in order to pass the inspection they would need to clean the headlights, a service he could conveniently provide for an extra $55. The guy didn't even turn on the headlights to check for visibility and I knew they were just trying to make some extra money. Took my car somewhere else and it passed inspection just fine. This repair shop will never get my business, if they pull scams like this on the little things I can't imagine what kind of things they try to pull once they have you car in for a major repair. read more

Horrible! Had to get my alternater replaced, now my air conditioner isnt working. When i took my car in, my ac worked perfectly. Rude mechanic and receptionist is quite rude as well. Never going back again. My car is now being serviced else where. read more
