We got here around 4:45 pm and definitely beat the dinner rush. This is a small place so if you are going to eat in, it's a good idea to go early. The place has the makings of being cute but leans more on the rundown side of things. We ordered ribs, brisket, sausage, cole slaw, fried corn on the cob, green beans, and fries. Everything was lukewarm- not my favorite. Truthfully everything felt like it could have been seasoned much more aggressively. If I had to find a favorite, I would choose the green beans and the sausage but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back here. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't a slap yo momma kind of experience either. read more

Our family loves this place, we order for pick-up form here at least once a month and any time I get a chance to bring someone here, I do. If you are eating in it is small and has limited seating. It is a small family owned smokehouse and it feels like it. Staff is always friendly and helpful, never had a bad experience eating in or picking up. Family Favorites include the corn nuggets, ribs, turkey (the only turkey I've ever had that I like, it's not dry!) fried pickles, banana pudding and of course their brisket (which at times is hard to come by). Excellent BBQ and Smokehouse, their Dirty Tree BBQ sauce is probably my favorite BBQ of all time. Its a mustard based and the only I've ever had like it. read more

The brisket is my favorite. Juicy and delicious! The service is the best. True southern hospitality. It's a cozy place. Everything I have tried was delicious but the brisket was the best! read more

Little place among the path and and I drive by and say "I'm going to stop one day". Today was the day. Easy in and out. Fresh and tasty pulled pork sammich!! The girl behind the counter gave a great review on the sweet tea and she didn't disappoint. I wish they sold in in gallons I would be the best of customers! Will be back soon!! read more

Ordered the meal for 2 for take out and everything was great. If I had one complaint, it would be the mac n cheese tastes a little bland but it's still not bad as we ate it all. Prices are fair too. We will be back. read more

Yummmmmm-A!!!! You will be so pleased and satisfied with this BBQ!! We recently moved to Middleburg and thought we'd be at a loss, moving away from Sonny's! However, stopping in to order at 4 Trees Smokehouse easily runs circles around our old BBQ haunt!! Quality Food with great portions, prices and personable staff!! We're hooked and will continue to ENJOY their food for as long as their doors remain open to serve their Yummy selections (we LOVE their Pulled Pork Platter)!! Thanks for your early rise to prepare the Dee-Licious meats you serve your patrons!! Gratefully, The Barkley's read more

I ordered the pull-pork sandwich, little different being on toast I'm use to the bun. But it didn't affect the amazing smoke taste of the juicy pull pork. I had it with their sweet BBQ sauce. The sides were good I had greens which I think could use a little more season, but not bad at all. The BBQ beans were to die for. The services was so home feeling from when I walked in the door. They talked very southern. The drinks were only $1.50 for a large which is very impressive these days. The sign I thought was funny. read more

My wife and I went for lunch. Food was great, staff was very friendly and was able to accommodate our large group at the time. We had the brisket lunch meal that came with two sides. The brisket was seasoned very well and was very tender. The coleslaw was very tasty as well and the fries were good. Can't wait to go back! The restaurant was nice and clean. I would recommend it for sure! One thing we felt was the lunch prices were a little pricey. read more

I'm disappointed after paying $90 for food for the three of us. The staff was unprofessional and the tables were all dirty. I had to clean my own table. Waiting to get my drink I had to wait for a waitress to get hers first instead of letting the customer go first. On to the food. The brisket was cold and dried out, the ribs and chicken were cold and tasteless. The Cole slaw tasted like it was refrigerated in an open container because it tasted stale. The fried shrimp tasted like it was cooked in old oil. All in all we will not be returning read more

So good!!! We had spare ribs that were tender and juicy and the stumps are delicious. Good service and no waiting. We enjoyed everything we ordered and will definitely be back. read more

Service was friendly and quick. We got the Rib tree that was supposed to feed 2. We made a total of 4 meals out of it. The ribs were the best I've had in years. They say the food is worth the wait, it absolutely is. read more

Stopped here for a quick bite. I opted for the pork sandwich and teen got the turkey. Both sandwiches were packed with tender and delicious meat. Their sauce selection included a mustard based BBQ sauce, a sweet, and a bit of a tangy/hot one. I enjoy mixing them to make my own flavor! They seem to do a bristling take-out as several people came in to carry out huge bags of food. The aromas from the kitchen were very enticing. Just a note - we were there close to closing and they were out of several items. If there is something specific you're looking for from their menu, it might be best to call ahead and get their early! read more

Please what ever you do order the stumps aka pulled pork egg rolls. So dam good! The stump sauce is amazing, like it better than most of their other sauces! I got the sliced pork sandwich and French fries. The sliced pork is thicker than I like but still really good. My wife got the pulled pork and said it was amazing! The fried pickles are really good. You have to order at the counter, the food comes out really fast! Small space not a ton of seating but still very comfortable. Also they keep it very cool on a hot day!!! read more

A very cozy BBQ restaurant , but it does have a side room where slightly larger families/groups can eat together. There are both booths and tables, including a "community table" where you can meet other diners. We had a coupon for a free pork sandwich meal, so three of us went for lunch. Everyone ate everything we ordered and enjoyed it! I had the pork sandwich and creamy, sweet coleslaw (nothing onion in it!). Dennis had the chicken platter, with fries and potato salad. Our friend had pork ribs, mac and cheese, and collard greens. It gets crowded quickly for lunch and dinner so arrive a bit on the early side for ordering and seating. There were only three sauces but we each found one we liked: mustard-based, sweet, and one called Dirty Trees, which was a lightly smoked and savory sauce. read more

The best Smokehouse I've ever been to. Service is super quick and the food is absolutely delicious. My favorite are the Stumps, OMG. The sit down portion of the 4 Trees is so nice and almost rustic to really feeling like home. You need to try it. read more

We visited 4 Trees Smokehouse when we were in the area a couple of weeks ago. It smelled amazing but I was a little disappointed with what I ordered. I ordered the baked potato topped with pulled pork. The potato wasn't quite cooked all the way through but was okay. When I came out all of the toppings except for the meat were on the side. I prefer mine with everything on it underneath the meat so the butter is melted. The meat was very good and it was tender and moist. The sauce was good too but I only tried the original. All in all it was good but not sure I would order the potato again. read more

In deference to full disclosure, this was not our first choice for dinner tonight. In fact, it wasn't even on the list until we discovered that the first 2 options are both closed on Mondays. I've been driving past the building for the last 15 or so years on my way to and from work, and seen it as several BBQ places, but had never stopped. Wow, am I now glad I did. You order from the counter and go sit down and your meal gets delivered to your table. The dining area is small, with seating for probably 20-30 people, and it's got a very "comfortable" feel. Started with the fried mushrooms as an app, and we were pleasantly surprised at how large the portion was. Meals arrived shortly thereafter, and again noticed very generous portions for a quite reasonable price. I went with the 2 meat combo with 2 sides, and mama opted for the Stumps, after seeing all the glowing reviews online. My turkey and pulled pork were well-cooked and had great smoke flavor, complimented perfectly by the sweet house BBQ sauce. Sides were also very good, with a slight mustard tang to the potato salad and great flavor to the BBQ beans. Finally, the Stumps. All the 5 star comments about them are spot-on. Smoky pulled pork and Cole slaw, all wrapped up in an egg roll wrapper and deep fried, resulting in some absolute deliciousness. Top them with either ranch or the sweet BBQ sauce (or the Stump sauce if you like more of a mustard flavor) and savor each bite. Might have to stop by once a week or so just to grab an order or 2. read more

We attempted to order online about 50 minutes before closing. We refreshed and attempted again. The system would not ever allow the order to finalize. We decided to call and place the order. After selecting the option to speak with someone (2) a young irl answered and immediately put me on hold. She answered and said "Please ho...". I sat on hold for over 6 minutes. Another family member called and a different person answered. She seemed annoyed and informed that they were getting ready to close. It was 20 minutes ahead of closing time at this point. We had already wasted so much time on their online system, and the other phone was still on hold. We felt like we got attitude the last time we placed an order. That will be our last trip. Real stick smoked flavors along with stick smoke infused non-meat menu items. Damn good fried okra! I usually get my ribs by the slab so I will feed off them for days. The best stick smokehouse this side (West) of St. John's River. The restaurant has become much busier since the influx of new housing projects in Clay County area. Nothing like sitting down to real smoked dinner while watching Auto Racing or a great movie at home. "Get Some" read more

Quick evening meal while moving my daughter and an hour before Big Oaks closing and they were still busy but kept up nicely and were very gracious with our small crowd. The plates were very generous, the food delicious and the actual restaurant very welcoming. We ordered the Super Family. It feed several of us and even took some for lunch the next day. The ribs were very good and the brisket was even better and the chicken moist. I hid the coleslaw because I wanted it all as it was that good! The servers were kind and took good care of our wants and needs and their were a lot. Highly recommended if you happen to be in this neighborhood. Big Oak's read more

Food is always delicious and on point with the sauce variety. Quiet place to eat in or on the patio.

Portion sizes are uncalled for. This was a "turkey sandwich". We asked for the bread on the side since we got it as a to go order, so that it wasn't soggy when we got home. This was smaller than two chicken strips. $10 for this? They should really reconsider position sizes... No good business owner would send this out in their dining room. read more

My family and I were all really hungry for BBQ and decided to give 4 Trees a shot. We ordered the family feast so we got a wide variety of meats. Let me say they do NOT use the word "feast" lightly. We all ate our fill and it barely looked like we touched the mountain of food we had. The ribs fell off the bone and the turkey and pulled pork were both really moist. The collard greens were subtle but very good. The Mac and cheese was a bit generic but that is the only fault with any of the food. (I didn't get to try the chicken as I ran out of space). The restaurant was super busy but they really needed someone out wiping down the tables as people leave. I will definitely go back (next time I'll bring four more people so that the amount of food makes sense.) read more

I think this is one of the best BBQ places in Jacksonville have been there several times and never disappointed!

They have the best chicken in town. Always moist. Their baked Beans are very yummy also.

Zero ambiance. Brisket was incredibly tough, gray, but did taste okay. Cutting with a butter knife was difficult. The chicken dinner was cold and cut diabolically, leaving shards of bone exposed. The best part of my dinner was a side that I didn't even order, but was given by mistake. read more

We have ordered food from here twice now and have decided to stop due to the lack of customer service. The meat is definitely good.
