Fun neighborhood hangout with great people and specials! Bartenders are always friendly, but the owners are lame :)

If you know Steny's Lake Country, you already expect a good time--and this newer location (only…read moreabout 2 years old) delivers, even though it's tucked into a corporate park. Don't let that throw you off--it's super easy to find and the parking lot is a huge plus (no circling like downtown). We stopped in for their Derby party and it was a blast. Fun games, great energy, and an overall lively atmosphere that made it feel like an event, not just a night out. Food-wise, we kept it classic: cheese curds and the lobster dip--both were really good. The curds hit that perfect crispy/cheesy balance, and the lobster dip felt a little elevated but still totally shareable and worth it. I'd definitely go back again, but next time I'd probably pick a less busy time so we can relax a bit more and try more of the menu. The atmosphere was great during the event, but it'd be nice to experience it on a more laid-back visit too.

Stopped in on a Thursday afternoon to try the chicken wings which I've heard a lot about. Thought…read moreThursday was wing day but it starts at 6pm, unfortunately I missed out on the special and paid the $1.50 each instead of $1.00 each. Placed an order for wings, went with medium heat and although they were very meaty and tasty, the dry rub left me wanting a sauced rub even though I did order both blue cheese and ranch dressings. Note that all dressings and should you desire carrots or celery are extra costs, a pricy wing day. Anyways we had great service sitting at the bar with a large selection beers and we will likely return to the very pleasant sports bar atmosphere.

What a great pub and grill in North Prairie! They have a spacious outdoor patio and it looks like…read moresummer will be really fun out there with games and open air concept. Per advice from my server, I had the ribs and soooo glad it did! They were perfect and tender with delicious and plenty of bbq sauce! Sweet potato fries were standard. Kids meals were a good selection including a full size burger with pretzel bun, side and drink. It was gone before I could get pics!

I was in Waukesha on Friday night around dinner time and knew I wanted to stop at someplace I…read morehadn't been to yet for a fish fry. Of the bookmarks I had within reasonable driving distance, Sideliners Pub & Grill intrigued me the most. I ended up ordering the three piece beer battered perch with potato pancakes for the side and wings for an appetizer with half Cajun dry rub and half Jamaican BBQ jerk sauce. I thought it was interesting that the jerk sauce was specifically labeled as "Jamaican BBQ jerk" and it ended up being an accurate description. It was more BBQ flavored than jerk flavored and had almost no heat to it like jerk normal does. The Cajun rub, on the other hand, had great heat and Cajun flavor. The jerk sauce wasn't bad, but my preference was the Cajun rub. In a picture I saw of the potato pancakes they looked like they were Italian breaded, similar to mozzarella sticks. Again, I was intrigued. Unfortunately, the pancakes didn't live up to my expectations. The breading didn't have much Italian seasoning and the pancakes were like mashed potatoes formed into disks rather than more common potato pancakes that are shredded potato flavored with onion. The pancakes were my least favorite part of the meal. The perch didn't taste like yellow lake perch and was probably something cheaper like pike perch. Even though I did like the beer batter, it wasn't exactly was I was hoping for when I ordered perch, but it wasn't bad.
