We started with the deep-fried pickles, which were a letdown. They tasted like basic bottled pickle slices lightly dipped in flour with minimal seasoning--nothing special. Dinner didn't improve much. The menu items sound really appealing, but once they arrived, the flavors were bland. We ordered the Irish stew, and the meat was very tough. Tried cutting it in really small pieces so I could chew it, but it wasn't worth the effort. Had a few pieces with gristle and fat. I ended up picking the meat out and just eating the carrots and potatoes. We also tried the famous meatloaf, which was the highlight of the meal. I enjoyed it, though the portion could have been a bit larger. The gravy was tasty, and it came with peas and mashed potatoes. Tonight 19 of us met at Four Daughters with reservations. We waited 2-1/2 hours until they served our cold food that was originally overcooked. I love corned beef and cabbage but this was a travesty. We didn't get out of there until 3 hours had passed. Several of us literally could not eat the food we had for so long. Apparently whomever takes reservations had accepted far too many for the kitchen and waitstaff to handle. We reached a consensus agreement: We will NEVER go back. read more

This is our go to spot in all of Medford!! The food is excellent,From the lobster Mac to the salads. Burgers are delicious and inventive, using only fresh ground chuck, and everything is house made. We always get good service and my wife loves the specialty cocktails, i like the wide selection of imported and local whiskies as well as a perfectly drawn Guinnes. Once I saw the reviews for the cottage pie, I was in. Sat at the bar and was promptly greeted in a friendly manner. Offered, "a shot, a drink or a beer?" I chose a Guinness and ordered dinner. Had a Bushmills 10 for dessert. All were excellent! Bartender was very busy. Service was awesome. The cottage pie had a rich, dark gravy and was the perfect example of a cottage pie. Relatively disappointed in last night's dinner and experience. A Friday night and we were one of only three tables, both upon arrival and departure. While the food we ordered was served relatively quickly, its quality seems to have changed. Deep fried mushrooms were dry inside (never seen this before), and the dinner (two sausages with mashed potatoes and peas, can't remember the name) was sub par at best. Lastly, while there is so much potential there with regard to an Irish themed restaurant in that setting (cool old building), blasting "rock" music definitely was not appreciated nor did it fit. My impression last night was that this restaurant seems to be struggling. I hope they are working to make improvements as it would be a bummer to lose this one! read more

the servers have personality, the prices are fair, the food is great, and the environment is cozy. i came here twice on my 4 day trip to medford, the first time i got a mushroom swiss burger and a smoked old fashioned. the burger was perfectly cooked and fries are perfectly crisp and flavorful. and the drinks are nothing to sneeze at. the second time i got the bbq chicken flatbread and bread pudding. i didn't know what a bread pudding was. i was not disappointed. if you regretfully find yourself in medford, this place will be your haven. read more

I took my family in tonight to try something different and left disappointed and ripped off. I got a double whiskey sour and the server asked, "You're not one of those people who likes egg white and cherries on your whiskey sour are you?" I told her that I did like my whiskey sour that way but she proceeded to bring out a VERY basic whiskey sour with store bought sour mix and two shots of whiskey-NOTHING ELSE. There weren't any cherries or egg whites. When I asked for cherries, she came back with 3 cherries in a glass, dropped them off on the table and walked off in a hurry. Guess how much this extremely basic and cheaply made drink was-$17!!!! I didn't even get a buzz from it. My husband ordered the fish and chips, and my son got the mac and cheese. Those were good, but the mac and cheese comes with french fries. I didn't want my son to have all carbs for dinner. A veggie option would have been nice. But after paying so much money for everything already, I wasn't even gonna ask for veggies. Plus, our server was too busy helping everybody else tonight. It felt like we were at the bottom of the totem pole to her. ANYWAY, I got the meatloaf. It was barely warm and VERY salty. I could feel my body shrivel up in dehydration the more I ate it. I got the $3.50 salad with it and was underwhelmed again. It was just a very small bowl of iceburg lettuce, shredded carrots, chopped pale tomatoes and two cucumber slices. It wasnt tasty at all. I didn't even bother to finish it. Honestly, we left feeling super underwhelmed and unappreciated. We did NOT feel like valued customers. Our check was almost $70 and I had to tip, even though I really didn't want to. Our server got 15% which was still over $10 and she didn't even show us much attention..... There were three in our party and we were served by the "5th daughter". She was outstanding and made sure we had what the food prepared as we wanted. We started with the Basket of Chips which were so good. Our entrees included salads, soups, and wraps. All were tasty and filling. There's a good selection of beer and cocktails. Hidden gem in Downtown Medford for us not local . Went for an early dinner and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is definitely dark but has an amazing charm that makes it worth it. The Bangers & Mash were decent, not stellar. Cheap, house wine only. Service was friendly and quick. A couple of homeless guys loitering at the door, but didn't prevent entry. The decor in this restaurant is great! I wish I had been able to come one evening and just hang out for a few beers. The service was also spot on and the food solid. We had the beer battered mushrooms to start and I must say that the batter was really tasty. It's definitely a different setup for a restaurant, the pub vibe is strong with couches and low tables to relax and enjoy company while sipping on your drink. The service was friendly and we received our food quickly. I ordered the fish and chip combo with garlic fries. When I received my plate I didn't receive my garlic fries, that was fine I was just going to eat the regular fries, some were nice and crispy others were a touch stale which was weird to have a mix of both. My husband brought it to our waitress attention that I was supposed to get garlic fries. No questions asked, she apologized and quickly corrected the mistake. What I missed was some sort of Irish pub music playing. Even Mumford and Sons would have been better than Taylor Swift. We had the Combo Fish, Shrimp & Chips. It was good but the batter between fish and batter could have been cooked a bit more. Overall? Yes go check this place out! Just shy of three years ago on St Patrick's Day, my boyfriend and I made our relationship official after the nights festivities. So 4 Daughters Irish Pub has a special place in my heart. Seeing it closed for a lot of the last year has been heartbreaking. We didn't get to watch the Medford Fire Pipes & Drums in 2020 because pandemic. This was our yearly thing. So as soon as we heard they were opening up for take out, I had to go support them. We got the Lobster/shrimp mac and cheese, the Turkey bacon avocado with parsley garlic fries, and two drinks(Irish mule and pot o gold). The lobster mac is the best seafood mac you'll find this far in from the coast, hands down. It's worth every penny! We thought they mistakingly gave us a burger, but realized our sandwich we were splitting was just that big. The fries are some of the best fries I've had, EVER. I almost wish there was a bigger helping for my fat ass. Lastly, the drinks were delicious. They really made the meal. I can't wait for them to open back up, but until then I'll do what I can to support them. read more

My husband and decided this would be a great place for date night. Started out good. We sat in the front on the couch. Felt so comfy. Service was a little slow, but it was busy. We were patient. Then came the food. My husbands burger was wrong and the waitress took it right back. We never saw his plate again. I ate really slow thinking they'd be out with the right burger anytime. Nope. Nothing. As soon as I was done, we asked for the check. The waitress apologized, but my husband was leaving with an empty stomach.
