I went to them thinking I would support a local business, which I always try to do. What I didn't realize is that they would take me to the cleaners and install very basic equipment while charging me for gold and platinum level equipment. For instance, after they installed a complete home security system, including two cameras, I thought to myself that the equipment looked somewhat 'cheap' compared to other systems I had seen. So I went through the list of everything they installed and went to Amazon and other retailers to see just how much would it cost me to but the equipment myself - and the grand total was a little less than $1500. But I, in the end, had paid more than 3 times that, so I guess the installation, which took a day, cost thousands of dollars. That doesn't take into account dealer prices or anything else, so I'm sure the actual difference was even more than that. Every business needs to make a profit - I understand that. Now, if the equipment was first rate, I probably wouldn't be so upset. But at every turn, the equipment was not what we discussed or it doesn't meet my needs, which should have been addressed, based on their expertise after we discussed what I was trying to accomplish. Instead, even the installation was faulty resulting in an outbuilding not being secured a month after being installed.

This was to improve efficiency and heat output by helping our older wood stove achieve optional combustion temperatures. We also wanted to avoid an issue where soot had blasted through any crevice in the stove twice when oxygen level shifted quickly (at least that is what I think was the issue; I am no expert). This outside air intake would also help oxygen not be depleted in the room. It was an unusual request to make because of the type of wood stove we have but we wanted to make the system more functional and Michael installed the intake. He did good work the first day but I wanted to comment on his helpfulness the second day he came over. After the install of the air intake, the downstairs of our house was very cold because outside air was streaming through those same crevices that soot got through. Michael came back quickly after we called to add special insulation where he could on the stove and around the pipe/tubing leading outside. He made sure everything was sealed extra well and also put in a sort of switch thing to open and close the tubing when needed. This cold air coming in was not Michael's fault; it was because of the kind of non-pedestal older wood stove we have. I don't think any of us realized how many crevices there were that air would seep through. We are grateful that Michael came back to do these extra steps and fix our system at no extra charge. It was obvious he wanted to make sure we were happy with the work overall, and we are. We would hire him again and probably will if we have future issues or want to install a new stove one day!

They set a time to come look, and knew what to get. Then had everything ready for us, and did the job, informing along the way what was happening. The second job more to change a well-housing and pipes connecting to water source, they changed all of that too. Had looked at it previously, to get the information on the project- to get the tools, back when the water heater was done. Seeming their time spent, and then once we were ready, came by- got the scope again and then picked up the products and set a day to work. That was all done- and have now water running again without fear of blowing out anything in the well. Future jobs are planned- coming up with remodeling. Waiting on them for the pricing to get that all firm and prepared, so when the job come's all will know what is needed. My word to ANYONE that has any difficulty, getting to people; constant- repetition in informing them what is needed and also, send emails as well with pricing- that helps a ton. May 2024 we had the beginning of our plumbing issues on our well system. After being ghosted by our first plumber, and finding out the second one we used would not be able to get to us in a timely manner, we reached out to Alexander & Sons. They came out to get a water sample to determine what type of system we would need and that was the extent of their service. They claimed we had bacteria in our system (but never provided a report) and would need to shock it before performing work. After a few phone calls and no shows, they claimed they came out to do it. Unfortunately for them, my security cameras told otherwise. When I called them back to confirm, I was then ignored for a week. I called another company, who came out, tested, and replaced our system in the time it took this company to ignore me and reach back out to me. When I informed them I went with someone else and told them they never came back, the person on the phone told me they did. I then informed them that they did not because A) my security cameras never caught them, and they would have if they had come in my driveway and B) there was something left behind on the well cover by the plumbers who replaced my well pump. She then called me back and left a voicemail (which I still have) telling me to get my cameras checked because they did come out and move a pair of pliers from the cover. Only problem? It was electrical tape the previous plumbers left behind next to the well which I then placed on top of the cover when cutting grass, not pliers. So either the plumbers lied to her and she didn't know or she lied to cover for them. Either way, unacceptable. Overall, I would avoid them and go with a larger company who, even though you may pay more, at least gets the job done.
