Kind of a weird experience with the reception staff.... I never made it to the appointment stage due to this experience. I received a mailer to my home address from this business, for a complimentary professional tray whitening for new patients. I called the phone number on the mailer to ask about the offer. The reception staff member tried to take my personal information and book an appointment, without providing more information about the offer, even though I tried to hit pause and remind her that the call was informational, multiple times during the exchange. She then placed me on hold and tried to transfer the call (without asking or saying she would). After a few minutes I had to hang up entirely. Really strange - not sure whether the mailer was a real offer based on this. read more

Dr. Steven Lin is an excellent, meticulous, and gentle dentist. I can't recommend him enough. He has treated cavities for me and for me for a night guard. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE PRACTICE!!! As others have stated, I also am having to get work redone by Dr. Lena who is no longer there. Another dentist is there now, which came as a surprise. I found out when I came in for my routine check-up and, lo and behold, it was a completely new staff. They are very bad. I have been emailing and calling for atleast 5 months to get a claim filed for work done in 2020. Every time I call, the front desk person says she will follow up and she doesn't. She doesn't respond to emails and she, basically, doesn't do her job. Incompetent and unprofessional. DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST!! read more

This place is a ripoff!!!! I called and made an appointment for the following day not even 24 hours. I called the office the following morning as soon as they opened to cancel and left a message. I later noticed that I was charged $112 for canceling an appointment that I was never told I would be charged and I could never give them 24 hour notice if the appointment wasn't made more then 24 hours. When I noticed the charge I called the office and spoke to the front desk which stated it wasn't fair that I was charged and that she would leave a message to the office manage to refund me my money and that never happened. read more

Dr. Lin messed up preforming a root canal resulting in very painful infection and needing the procedure done over again. Two dentists looked at x-rays and told me that the canal was not fully filled. When i communicated this with Dr.Lin he over months would alternate between lying that he confirmed reversing the claim with my insurance and then not answering my emails. I called my insurance and they actually had no record at all of his office contacting them, even though he said he had "confirmed" with them. Dishonest and shady. read more

WOOHOO! My teeth have never looked so good. The front desk receptionist, Angelika greeted me with a smile as soon as I walked in. The entire staff was very pleasant and made sure I was accommodated. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO SUFFER LONG-TERM NERVE DAMAGE. This review is overdue, but I feel compelled to write since I'm continuing to suffer nerve damage (8 months later) from a failed wisdom tooth extraction. I was advised to get my wisdom tooth removed with only local anesthetic at this office (versus going under general anesthesia via an oral surgeon). Dr. Lin assured me there would be no pain and it would be an easy and painless operation. I followed his recommendation and scheduled the appointment. During the extraction procedure, Dr. Lin's metal equipment was slipping out of his hands due to all the blood and he continued to yank so hard that it felt medieval. After about 20 minutes of this, I couldn't take anymore and I said I wanted to stop. This is when the doctor proceeded to put gauze in my mouth, put me in an Uber, and send me to an oral surgeon in Brooklyn who charged me another $1,000 to be put under by general anesthesia. Once I got to the oral surgeon, he took a full X-ray and said the reason that 38 Meserole Dental was having issues removing my wisdom tooth was because there was a bone that was in the way and needed to be removed. Once the oral surgeon put me under, he had to remove part of my bone to get the wisdom tooth out. Today, I can not longer feel around my chin / the gum where the wisdom tooth was removed. When I smile, I can only feel one side of my face. The other is tingling and numb. I visited this dentist out of convenience (location to my apartment). It was the worst decision I've made in regards to my health. Please do your own research, and if you need to have your wisdom teeth removed, visit an oral surgeon. read more

Just moved to New York and came here as a new patient for a teeth cleaning. The equipment appeared outdated. When I got X-rays they didn't have a plastic cover so the X-ray machine was essentially touching every patient's face. The space felt unsanitary. Afterward, he told me I had 10 cavities and said he had to leave for a personal appointment and I wouldn't even be getting a teeth cleaning. I had been in the office for 1.5 hours by that point. I didn't believe I had that many cavities since I've been getting routine cleanings every 6 months, so I got a second opinion from a very credible dentist (did my research this time) and I have 4 cavities. I got the sense that this dentist was trying to sell me on him, making comments like 'I treat all my patients the same no matter their race' and 'I treat my patients like my mother and sister'. I don't like to leave bad reviews, but I felt so uncomfortable after this experience I thought I should share, especially when so much money was on the line. read more

I went to this office for the first time and had one of the best dental experiences. Lena was recommended by a friend of mine and since it was close to my house I thought to give her a try. The office is very neat, very clean & modern which is great for the area. The front desk gal was very friendly and the assistant came to take me back and prep me. The assistant was very thorough is communicating each step and why. She took my xrays and then I waited only minutes for the dentist. My dentist was Lena Sapozhnikoff, we discussed my history, my concerns and then she started with a cleaning. I told her Im super sensitive to the cleaning, she was gentle yet effective. After the cleaning, we reviewed my xrays on a big screen. She pointed everything out that was not right and explained in detail what she was talking about. After we were done, we discussed an action plan to get my mouth & teeth at there best. When checking out, the receptionist printed out a detailed report of everything the dentist recommended in order from most important to least. She pointed out all the cost and payment options. I did also tell Dr.Lena that I like to use natural products so she recommended the coconut oil toothpaste that the owner makes herself and even gave me a sample to try in the bathroom. I loved it! It was a great experience and I feel very confident that Lena is an honest and thorough dentist. The staff made the experience overall a great one! I will definitely be returning for my next procedures. read more

38 Meserole Dental is as good as it gets. I haven't been to a dentist in 5 years, and from the moment I booked my appointment, the staff have been very helpful and kind. My appointment was with Dr. Angelique Freking. I must say that as far as dentists go, she has a very gentle touch. I'm not a big fan of pain, and this woman took her time and tried to be as gentle as possible, which is a huge plus when it comes to the sensitivity of ones mouth and teeth. The dental office itself is very clean. It is also bright and cheery, which is nice change of pace. Overall, it's a better dentists office than most that I have been to in my life. And it's definitely better than most in the Williamsburg area. read more

Just went to this office this past weekend and it was an amazing experience! The office is very clean and modern, and the staff was welcoming and helpful. Dr. Lin was friendly and explained everything thoroughly - he used an intraoral camera to explain treatment and gave options without ever seeming pushy. Dr. Lena is absolutely amazing... i have never experienced such painless and comforting experience at a dental office. I have my own phobia visiting a dental office but from the moment i stepped into this office i felt welcomed by staff. It definitely wasn't expected since i found this office last minute due to an emergency however their hours are so accommodating and the doctor actually responds to your concerns personally. I just wanted to share with you what happened to me and warn you to be careful to do business with this place. I think they are desperate need of getting people in. I was told that my insurance was in the network and all I needed to pay was that copayment and deduction which I paid upon arrival. But, the truth was that they were out of the network and I ended up paying twice as much as I would pay to a doctor in the network. So, please be careful with the place. I think, some shady business going on here!!! Oh, did I say that the doctor requested me to pay more than $11K for 2 teeth. I would be better off getting rid of them than spending $11K. read more

Dr. Lena and her staff are amazing. I am not the easiest patient and they are always accommodating and so sweet and make sure I get the proper care I need. Not to mention, they straightened my teeth in 2 1/2 months! Best price I could find for Invisalign around. If you get the Invisalign, make sure to get the accelerant they offer with it. I came here for my cleanings while I lived in the neighborhood. Never had a negative experience with Dr. Freking or any of the staff. The place is clean and run well, and, since moving away, I actually kinda miss it. I don't often find a dentist's office I feel comfortable in. A story: I once had a hypochondriac moment (thinking my gums were receding) and went by the office in person to see if I could schedule an appointment to get it checked out. Olga actually fit me in to see a hygienist on the spot and took my concerns seriously when a lot of other offices might have been dismissive or patronizing. Very nice, clean office with friendly staff. Had a cleaning a couple weeks ago and 2 wisdom teeth pulled last week... extractions are done under local anesthetic (didn't love that) but Dr. Freking makes sure you don't feel any pain. She's knowledgeable and the office is easy to access from my part of town (walking distance!). Digital X-rays, new equipment, comfortable chairs! Dr. Freking was sensitive to my anxieties of having teeth pulled and made sure I was as comfortable as I could be, prescribed reasonable pain prescriptions, and made sure I felt okay and informed about my recovery before I left. read more

I went here after a friend recommended and my lifelong dentist retired. They were really nice. Clean, modern office. They told me I needed over $5,000 worth of work on my teeth. They showed me all through out the X-rays. Then I went to another dentist- he and his staff were truly amazing- they took a look at my X-rays and said there was one area they couldn't see and needed to re X-ray it. In the end, I had a fifty dollar X-ray and it showed i needed absolutely NONE of the work I was told was necessary by 38 messerole. The other dentist told me all I needed was a cleaning. SHAME ON YOU 38 Meserole- doctors and dentists treating their patients like commodities it's scary and disgusting. I wouldn't tell my enemies to go here- they are unscrupulous! read more

Had a great first experience with getting a cleaning here. The facilities and equipment brand new and state of the art. Dentistry has come a long way. I was able to see digital x-rays of my teeth on a monitor above me in a matter of minutes. I will be getting my Invisalign very soon and before getting my first pair I needed cleaning. The Dentist applied a creamy anestesia around my gums and started the cleaning. I most admit I was impress because He did an awesome work and no pain !!! That was impressive because one thing I cant stand is the painful dentistries on my gums.
