Every time I have come here they have equipment issues. 3 out of 4 appts I book they claim to have no record of the appt constant administrative errors. "Dr" Thomas Verdoni is never in the office, occasionally he's seen outside smoking. New employees do all the work. Worst dentist office in Brooklyn. I've only come here because it's walking distance from me. Just left an appt for fillings, after an hour and a half wait, I hear "Dr" Verdoni yelling at one of his employees, looking disheveled like he just woke up from a 2 day bender, "I'm not doing it! You aren't paying me extra to do any more work today so why should I ?" In regards to doing my fillings, then storms out of the office. Like really? In front of patients? Told he went home for the day, after making me wait all afternoon. So a different lady does the fillings. Really don't trust her work as the entire time she kept calling for help and no one seemed to know what she needed when she requested tools. I will never go to that joke of a dentist again. I was a costumer for a long time,supporting the business sending my friends over, but last time I was there I left not happy at all, I ask for a simple cleaning was literally 15 min job not deep cleaning look wasn't necessary and it's ok, but when they present me the bill was $220 so I wandered how much will be a deep cleaning $440? I am absolutely disgusted with this dental office, if I could give it 0 stars I would. I was referred to this dental office by one of my children so I was initially excited to go since I did need quite a bit of work done. Let me begin by starting with the front desk staff who are extremely rude and unprofessional! Wearing clothing that shows way too much cleavage for a medical office. Although I was already turned off, I decided to stay since my daughter had recommended this dentist to me. When I get in the chair for my "consultation" they took my Xrays which is normal. The problem then came when they entered the room after the Xrays were done and said I was finished and they would call me back after they got authorization from my insurance. They didn't bother to even do a cleaning of my teeth! I then waited for over 5 weeks to hear back about this authorization (mind you I am a state employee and have excellent health/Dental insurance). After waiting for over 5 weeks I started calling the dental office to get an update and was constantly told that they have not received a response. I found it a bit strange as my health insurance never takes this long for authorizations so I decided to call the insurance myself. Not surprisingly, they told me that the dental office never submitted a pre-auth request. I then went in person to the dental office and they told me that the insurance had denied the authorization. I called the insurance while at the office and the front desk employee was not only rude to me but to the insurance rep! I finally got the approval for the work I needed after 4 months! I wish the nightmare ended there, but when I went in for the root canal. It took 4 visits for ONE root canal! Have you ever heard of such a thing?! on my last visit the dental assistant was going to give me an injection to numb the area and I noticed she was about to inject the wrong side of my mouth. I stopped her and told her she was going to inject the wrong tooth its the other side. She told me I was wrong! I assured her I knew which tooth it was and she went to check. Only to come in and say that "The computer was wrong". At that point, I told her I didnt want her to work on my teeth and I only wanted the dentist to do it. she took the needle she was about to inject me with and tosses it onto the dental tray next to a used pair of gloves! Also, she didnt even bother to recap the syringe. They then had me waiting in the room for about 2 hours! Sitting in the chair waiting with no updates or anything. So I took it upon myself to take some pictures of the exam room so people can see how unsanitary and filthy this environment is. After taking the pictures I got up and walked out. I refuse to let them do any more work on me! I never should have even let it get that far! Sorry for the long post, but I wanted everyone to get a clear picture of how horrible this place is. Never have I witnessed such an unprofessional, dirty, mismanaged and incompetent healthcare office! Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else! I used to hate going to the dentist, but Dr Thomas makes me feel very welcomed, he is very friendly, he knows what he's doing and I trust and recommend him a 100% Some reviews say that the office is dirty and the reception staff is rude. Well, that never have happened to me. What can I say other than being afraid of the dentist for most of my life it finally became essential for my health to go! I have gone for several visits now, and I'm quite happy with the skill of the medical professionals that work there. This place is the worst, the dentist doesn't do a good job. He told me that on one of my back tooth needed filling because supposedly, according to him, it was already old, and I trusted him thinking that he was an honest and good dentist and now my back tooth hurts. So I came back to see what's going on and he made up a bunch of reasons why it hurts and that I need to do another treatment when I've never had a problem with that back tooth. Has to be the worst customer service experience I have ever had in my life. the people working there are lazy and total idiots. I came there 2 months ago for a root canal and a deep clean. the mention wasn't working upon my arrival so they could only do a light cleaning. the girl doing the cleaning didn't speak any English and I heard the dentist say "oh I think she has. done this before " he wasn't even sure! I needed extra permission to from the my insurance to get the root canal which they said should be approved in 2 weeks. after 3 weeks I call to see why I haven't received a call yet and they said cause they haven't heard back from the insurance. I called the insurance and they said the dentist never sent anything. if they sent it digital the insurance should have it instantly and they can make a decision for me quickly since I was in pain. I called the dental office to get the address and the code they use to send it digitally . to find out they sent the wrong place. I gave the code given by the insurance and they said they would submit it that day. I try not to be annoying and wait 3 days to call. I called the insurance first to see if it was received and again now. the insurance agent can hear my pain and wants to help so she calls the dental office her self and gives them all the information need. she then calls. me to say that she has never encounter a more difficult person front desk staff to work with but they have all the correct info and was told the everything would be submitted that day and would be received instantly .long story short.. cause I g2g kept hearing stories every week I called! after the 3rd insurance company called them .. we decided that they literally weren't doing anything and just didn't want to help. so I found a different dentist last week Friday I called my insurance Monday they already received and approved the request. and I set up my appoint for Friday for my rootcanal. am really upset cause these girls are considered evil in my book. DO NOT GO HERE. DIRTY. Thomas Verdoni's dental office is dirty. The receptionist doesn't wear a mask during Covid. Dr. Verdoni texts while wearing latex gloves, which he then puts into your mouth. The dental tools are not properly sterilized. The dentist doesn't wear scrubs or a clean lab coat. He wears jeans and his own t-shirt. All the workers there touch the lights, chairs, dental tools, the computer, equipment, and their cell phones with their germy gloves. The whole point of putting sterile disposable gloves on is to maintain cleanliness and to prevent the spread of germs, disease, and Covid. I made three appointments under the assumption that, like most businesses, they want to acquire and maintain clients. After my last two appointments made me wait over 45 minutes past the scheduled time to be seen, I asked the receptionist what time would be best if I don't have the luxury of taking hours out of my day waiting for an appointment, and she suggested 9am. Well I arrive at 8:55, and the gate it still down. At 9:05 the receptionist roles up to unlock the door. I tell her I have a 9am appointment and she doesn't say anything. At 9:20 a nurse shows up. Honestly, this place is pretty chaotic. My cleaning turned out to be effective but, I really questioned the cleanliness of this office - the patient rooms are old and dirty - they had dental assistants taking out the trash in front of me and leaving the back door wide open so that the cold winter air filled up the entire building. The doctor immediately tried selling me on xrays that I didn't need. And they had dental hygienists frantically walking in and out of the room - nobody looked like they knew what they were doing. The woman who did my cleaning sprayed water and some strange sand that they use to clean all over my face. She was very sloppy. Strangely enough, my teeth do look cleaner then before. I don't usually write reviews but I feel very compelled to write this one. I walked in and the front desk person was very rude and very unresponsive. Upon hearing I had an appointment she told me to sign in and I sat down. After a few minutes I was guided to one of the rooms. Then an assistant comes in and points in a direction and says "GO" in a rude way telling me to go to one of the rooms for an x-ray. The dentist comes in after an x ray and proceds to tell me I need a cleaning I told her I didn't come for that I came for a root canal and I needed to know the cleaning was covered under my insurance. After she finds out its covered the other assistant who could barely understand what I was saying because she didn't really speak english starts the cleaning. After the dentist comes back she tells me they won't be able to do the procedure because their dentist is actully about to get surgery and won't be back for another month. Then tells me their root canal procedure takes 4 appointments! I was so angry I asked her if she knew the dentist was getting surgery before they started the cleaning she told me yes. It's like why bother starting the service just to waste my time and the money I had to spend on a copay. This place is very unprofessional and takes advantage of people with Medicaid insurance and they need more staff who can communicate with clients in a respectful manner. read more

I am MORTIFIED. I walked into Wilson Avenue Dental today for my appointment, and upon entering, no one was wearing a mask. There was no sign of PPE or any safety precautions. I was shocked to see the receptionist had no mask or shield. The office was not enforcing social distancing or the use of masks. I just decided to leave within 2 minutes of sitting in discomfort in the waiting room. If you care about your health and the health of others, go to the dentist elsewhere. I am glad to have finally found a dentist that I like and that is very close to where I live. Dr. Verdoni is down to earth and you can tell he has a lot of experience. I had a filling that fell out and he quickly and painlessly replaced it as well as another old filling I had. He was very upfront with prices and made sure I agreed to what was being charged before he did the procedure. His prices are extremely fair. Be prepared for a more informal office. I liked that it wasn't stuffy and uncomfortable, but the doctor was also working on me with one hand and talking on the phone with the other at some point (about office stuff, not just a regular conversation, at least). Usually, this would have freaked me out, but I felt I was in capable hands (well, hand). His multi-tasking did not affect the quality of the work. My filling is perfect and has not given me any discomfort or trouble. I look forward to making my cleaning appointment here soon. Just had my first experience w/ this place but it was something I want to share. I had an infection in one tooth and needed an emergency root canal in another. The dentist consulted w me in a very present way and was really clear with what possible outcomes could be. We chose a strategy and got me out of crisis and on the road to health. As a person who is terrified of the dentist and avoids going if necessary I have to say this dentist he's good. That is saying a lot from a person so traumatized by dentists due to a bad experience as a child I never went to a dentist past the age of 8. He's honest and keeps it real with you. He made me comfortable enough to do my dental work. It was nerve wracking at first but they kept me fully informed and I always knew what was going to happen and was able to stop whenever I was anxious or uncomfortable. This coming from someone who used to require iv sedation to do any dental work. I'm so happy I found an in network dentist that makes me comfortable enough to get the required work I need. Wow! Don't know what else to say. Called them at noon with an emergency complaining of pain from an abscess, and they had me in the chair by 12:30, and had me on my way less than two hours later for a reasonable price. I have SEVERE dental anxiety (so bad I have history of having full blow panic attacks in the chair and often need to be sedated), but here the doctor was super friendly, knowledgeable, and you could tell he had years of experience, which put me at ease, especially as he talked me through it, and seemed to genuinely care, and I had much less pain than I was expecting during the procedure (we will see how I feel this evening, lol). Went into just have my emergency stabilized, but now I am considering having him do the extensive work I need done . Lastly, what I almost appreciate most is that while I have bad teeth, I know this, and I truly appreciate being told what is wrong and needs to be addressed WITHOUT being made to feel bad because of it. He heard me out and told me to come in, even though it was 5:30 on a Saturday and all the other staff had left. I have been going to Dr. Verdoni for over a year. I had a couple of crowns and some extensive bridge work done and it came out great. With such a big undertaking I was really nervous, but Dr. Verdoni explained everything and the options and with his experience and knowledge, I got through it. The Dentist here is terrible. He cemented my permanent bridge with temporary cement and my bridge cracked while eating a sandwich!!! He was willing to argue when I asked him about the procedure and was very uncaring about the entire situation. I spent $5,000 cash for my bridge and this is what I get?? Where do I start. For starters they will bill your insurance for procedures and x-rays they do not do. SO BE AWARE OF THIS PRACTICES FRAUD. Dr. verdoni is a very nice man however his business practices are unethical. He doesn't have a gentle touch when it comes to numbing, his work is rushed due to his constant turn over. He does the cleanings himself instead of paying a hygienist, so it's done poorly! He is NEVER on time for your appointment (20 minutes wait, at best. ) The office is nice but ALWAYS dirty (the floor) not to mention if you want an appointment it's not computerized, it's written in some unorganized outdated calender book.
