I hate being scolded. I avoid going to the dentist because I always feel they're going to tell me there's something wrong or I don't floss enough, my toothbrush sucks or the scariest thing of all, that I need drill work. It's a double edge sword because if I don't go I know I'm only sinking deeper into the feeling that I'm not doing enough to take care of my oral hygiene and fear sets in. Floss bar knows this and it knows me. After a brief encounter with their founders I decided to give it a try. I didn't have to jump into the deep end of the dentistry pool, I could go and simply dip my toe in with a quick floss and go. Being kinder to my mouth wasn't so scary. In fact I found out that the fear I had created in my mind was far greater than the actual experience. This wouldn't have been the case at a regular dentist because prior to floss bar, this type of welcoming and comfortable care didn't exist for dentistry. I've gone back for a deeper cleaning. This review is overdue, been busy. I easily set-up an appointment for just a dental cleaning (periodic maintenance) on Floss Bar's website for Saturday Feb. 24 at 5pm. I arrived at the 9 st. location 10-15 minutes before meeting my hygienist named "Massiel" without any prolonged waiting or customer back-up as with other places. What a great experience being with her! She has a beautiful, personable, warm, friendly personality - a pleasure to meet. But most important, did a professional absolutely thorough job removing plaque, etc. - not rushing, paying close attention to every nook & cranny, answering any related oral care questions. When I return for another cleaning, she's the one I want and Floss Bar's price is fair as a previous vendor I used for a several years raised their price too high for my taste. read more

Floss Bar, by far, is the best new thing around. When I was looking around the city to find a place to get a cleaning and whitening, I struggled finding somewhere that didn't require a lengthy consultation and or x-rays. My girlfriend recommended Floss Bar so I decided to try it out given that I had yet to find the right place. Within seconds, I found a close by location, the treatment I wanted and scheduled an appointment. The best part too, is that you give your medical history, insurance and payment information online - meaning no paper work at the office! Finally, because most appointments are for after hours (mine went from 5PM to 6:30PM) there are short waiting times. Floss bar is truly awesome! Being a busy mom of 2 and working full time I found it difficult to schedule dentist appointments that would fit my schedule. Floss bar hours were super convenient and the location was easy to get to. My appointment started on time (which was never the case at my previous dental office-- picture a 1 1/2 - 2 hour wait). The hygienist was friendly, courteous, and very informative. She paid great attention to detail and explained everything as she went along. I saw the dentist as well and he was great. Same friendly attitude, paid attention to detail, addressed all of my concerns and everything was done in a timely manner. This review is actually for their East Village location. I was greeted by the staff upon entering the office and was offered a bottle water. The office was clean and welcoming. The hygienist was very supportive and made sure that the whole process was comfortable. He told me exactly what he was doing throughout the procedure; this helped in anticipating whether I was going to feel sensitivity, etc. The hygienist polished and cleaned my teeth first and then he proceeded with the whitening. I am very satisfied with the results. I will definitely come back and I highly recommend this establishment. They operate after office hours, so this is perfect for those who cannot get out of their busy work schedule. read more

Love, love, LOVE this place! It is so easy to book an appointment for exactly what you need. I always feel so lost when making a dentist appointment and they make it extremely simple. I tried out their Union Square location which is close to work and home for me. My weeks are so busy so they fit me in at 5:30pm on a Saturday. I have never heard of that before! The dentist I had was also really knowledgeable. He let me know his opinions but never tried to push any unnecessary appointments on me. This is for their Union Square location. I can't remember the dentist's name, but he was friendly and informative. This was my first time getting my teeth whitened, and I'm glad it was a seamless experience. The procedure was quick, and he shared advice on how to keep my teeth clean and my gums healthy. One tip I learned was that the gums should be pink, not red, and flossing every day is the best way to keep the gums healthy. I plan on going back soon for future cleaning and consultation. I got my teeth cleaned, x-rayed, and whitened here because it was the only dentist I could find that worked with my busy schedule and was reasonably priced. I had an amazing experience! It was way cheaper than I thought but the location was clean with a cool relaxing (spa-like) atmosphere. The staff were really friendly (but not in an annoying way) and they did an amazing job. Floss Bar is a great new company in NYC! My husband and I had our teeth whitened and the results were exactly what we expected. It was also a great experience. Honestly the best experience at the dentist I've ever had. I was late and shot them a text and a human responded. When I arrived I was greeted by the whole team. They gave me some sunglasses to rock and let me pick the music via Alexa then cleaned my teeth for over an hour. Apparently I need to floss more and I'm pretty inspired now. read more
