After an unpleasant experience at a dental office fairly close to home, I hadn't been to the dentist for 3 years. My office visit with RCD was superb! The receptionist was very friendly and professional. So, too, was the rest of the office...the atmosphere exuded professionalism. I felt welcomed and comfortable. The cleaning was excellent! The consultation with Dr. Kahane was informative, casual, and pleasant. His recommendations for a crown (which I know I need) and a bit of tooth repair was no surprise, but his explanation on how Invisalign orthotics would improve my crowded lower teeth and promote better gum health provided an alternative remedy I hadn't considered, but now will Over all, the only way the experience could have been more positive would have been if I'd stayed longer. The dental hygenist who did my cleaning was the icing on the cake because she did a tremendous job. Overall I had a pleasant experience. The only downside is that they did not accept my insurance so I had to pay out of pocket. Though there was a hefty dent in my wallet, the dent on my tooth was well taken care of. We called ahead and verified the coverage before scheduling an appointment. After the initial visit, we called to check if we have to pay anything. With an attitude, she responded "Did we ask you to pay when you were here?". After about a week or so, we received a call about a more than $200 bill because they are out of network. There were reviews about this kind of office/billing dealings that happened with some people in 2018 and 2021. Don't waste your time with this secretary. She is mean, nasty, very rude and no telephone courtesy. If she doesn't like the job, she better quit. IDK why she is still working there despite these incidents.

A few years later, another dentist damaged the nerves in my tooth during a filling. At that point, I was hesitant to go to a dentist ever again. Fortunately, I found Dr. Schoengold, who has restored my trust. When I needed an implant, he answered my questions -- many of them -- completely and without rushing me. He made sure I was knowledgeable about the options available to me, the likely outcome of each procedure, the specific steps involved, and the follow-up care. He performed the extraction, bone graft, and implant procedures with minimal pain, taking his time to do it right, and checked with me afterward at each stage to make sure my recovery was going well. Many months later, I've had absolutely no problems with the implant. I also see Dr. Schoengold for regular cleanings, which he does himself. His staff -- in particular, Crystal, one of the dental assistants -- are excellent. They are friendly, respectful, and knowledgeable in terms of both dental procedures and insurance/billing issues. She took her time to explain the process of getting a cavity filled while she took my X-rays. The Dentist came in promptly and showed me where he had to remove the previous horrendous filling another dentist did, then he and another assistant took care of the new filling within minutes. I didn't have insurance at the time, however the Dentist gave a reasonable price to do the filling. I still have slight sensitivity to the tooth, but it's way better than what the last Dentist did.
