Pride in Precision: Since 1929 At Cooper's Bicycle Center,…read morewe aren't just a bike shop; we are the stewards of Stillwater's cycling history. Having operated continuously since 1929, we understand that longevity is built on one thing: uncompromising safety. We take immense pride in the fact that no bike leaves our floor without being rigorously tested. Our decades of experience have taught us that in the world of cycling, "good enough" isn't enough. This commitment to your safety means we provide direct, honest assessments of every repair. Why We Value Honesty Over Quick Fixes Sometimes, our expertise leads to a "blunt" reality check. If you come in for a new tube but your tire is dry-rotted and cracked, we won't simply sell you the tube and watch it fail a mile down the road. Safety First: We will always recommend the repair that actually solves the root cause. Expert Integrity: To us, letting a bike leave in an unsafe condition is simply bad business. Quality Assured: We would rather be honest about a necessary part than watch a customer face a preventable breakdown. We appreciate riders who value technical mastery and straight talk. When you bring your bike to Cooper's, you aren't just getting a tune-up; you're getting nearly a century of expertise dedicated to keeping you safe on the road.

I had already researched online and had an idea of what I wanted but had no idea what it would actually feel like to ride the bikes, so I really wanted to try a couple of them out. I went on a Sunday and the employee was super helpful. He asked what I wanted--high priority on being comfortable, not really interested in speed. He said he knew the perfect bike for me: the Townie. He was absolutely right. I took it outside and rode it around the parking lot. It was love at first ride. The seat and handlebars are extremely comfortable. My back feels supported the entire time, even going through bumps (shock absorbers!). It's also beautiful and comes in bright colors. They installed a bottle holder for me and made sure the tires were good to go. It wasn't until I left that I realized they closed earlier than usual on Sundays. I felt so bad for making them stay longer but glad I didn't feel rushed at all. Definitely recommend!

Spokehouse ordered a new controller, then the issue became that the headlight got brighter when braking, so not fixed. I had been in communication with Aventon and printed off suggestions from them and took it to the bike shop. Not only did the young man summarily dismiss one of Aventon's suggestions, he added he didn't know what the problem was, was in no hurry to find out as warranty work does't pay well and he chastised me for him loosing 5 minutes that he could have used to fix the bike he was currently working on. He even encouraged me to take the bike elsewhere which of course would void my warranty. Rude rude rude! Once I got my bike back, rest assured I will never do business with them again!

We rented two Marin Sausalito E1 e-bikes and they were perfect for cruising around the city. We even brought our own seats for extra comfort and the staff had no problem mounting them for us. They also provided locks, front and rear lights for night riding, and chargers so we could juice up the batteries overnight. When we arrived to pick up the bikes, we actually bumped into Tom (yes, the Tom!) heading out at the same time. He ended up riding with us along part of the RiverParks Trail and gave us some amazing local tips--including a few great restaurant recommendations and cool stops to check out along the way.
