I am always on the lookout to support black-owned businesses, and I was very happy to find out that Lonnie McQuirter is the owner and proprietor of 36Lyn. I absolutely LOVE coming here, not only because I live less than a half mile from here, but because of the AWESOME customer service, the awesome convenience store, and super-low gas prices. Lonnie and his staff are always friendly, smiling, polite, helpful, and cordial. They know who lives in the neighborhood and are happy to acknowledge and talk with the regulars. It is truly a gas station/convenience store unlike any other. Where else can you find fresh, organic bananas, sustainably-sourced, organic Peace coffee, organic, local eggs, organic half and half, organic candy, raw honey, eco-friendly soap, vegan snacks, as well as your usual convenience store fare, like Doritos, Cheetos, and the like, because, hey, not everyone is into tomato basil lentil bean harvest snaps, OK? Also, their gas prices are very competitive and are usually lower than any other gas station in the area. If the price is $2.25 at the SA on 35th and Nicollet, 36Lyn's price is usually $2.15 or under, and when it dips to under $2.00 a gallon, if you're lucky, you might be able to fill up, as this place is already very busy most of the time, but it becomes almost near impossible to get into the lot when the gas prices are low. It's like a cheese line!! Got this bit to add: 36Lyn is one of just 21 fast-charging stations for electric cars in the metro, and the entire store is fueled by wind energy, a program offered by Xcel. I am so impressed with how organized and well run this station is, and again, I can't stress enough the variety of organic and vegan offerings that are inside This will always be my favorite gas/convenience store for as long as I live nearby and probably even if I move to another hood. I give props to Lonnie for creating a station/store that stands out from the regular-degular gas stations/convenience stores around the way.

Temps above freezing? Time to wash the car!

Great prices on gas (worth the wait), great local products and healthy offering, and conveniently located. Lucky me.

While staying in Minneapolis, I stopped into a close-by Walgreens to get a few items. I have alway seen locations in downtowns and this one was right around the corner from where I was staying. I am always pleased when I am properly greeted when I walk through the door. I am especially happy when a clerk or cashier look up from what they are doing to acknowledge a customer walking through the door. This store, like other Walgreens is big and bright with clean isles to navigate through. This incredibly delightful staff was over the top in greetings. Happy to see a customer. Happy to help a customer. Happy to speak with a customer. I needed a few items ranging from water to shaving cream. They had plenty of items to choose from and I pleased that their house brand is a substantially reduced price and the same item. Check out went very quickly and I received the same cordial greeting as I left as when I came in. The team member behind the counter just personified the model employee of engagement, spreading happiness and loving to be able to help. Kudos to a wonderful team here at Walgreens.

Prescriptions go unfilled days after being called in by a doctor for absolutely no reason. After moving back to an area in which this was my closest pharmacy, I transferred all my scripts here. When I arrived, there was one person in front of me at the pharmacy register. I waited patiently. As soon as that customer was finished, the pharmacy technician told me they were closing for lunch. I explained that I had just received a notification from Walgreens to pick up my prescription, and there was no mention in either message that the pharmacy would be closed between 1:30 and 2:00 PM. Her response? "It's Saturday," said with a dismissive tone, as if I was supposed to know their lunch schedule. Then, right in front of me, she shut the pharmacy gate in my face while two other staff stood aside doing nothing. Not a single person made an effort to help--despite Walgreens being the one to ask me to come pick up my prescription. This was my first time at this location--and will definitely be my last. If this is how Walgreens treats its customers, I'll be taking my prescriptions elsewhere. It would've taken less than a minute to hand me my medication before closing. Instead, they chose to be rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional.

They have ice cream (ice cream truck- individually packed options) energy drinks, soda, chips, coffee, fresh donuts (delivered daily), candy, greeting cards, and so much more. They also have a microwave, which is nice if you buy a packaged breakfast sandwich or something that needs to be warmed up. It's a small store but they have A LOT! Prices are the same as shopping at any other corner store or gas station. I love that they are open early (usually around 630). The store is always clean and organized. Staff are super friendly and nice. Just outside of the store they have seating via wooden table and chairs or just downstairs couches, more tables and chairs. The store continues to try different items for us to try out, which I appreciate. They've also encouraged us to use cash by giving a discount to patrons who utilize cash vs credit cards. Their prices can be a little high at times, but I chop it up to the convenience of having a convenience store within our work building and not having to run up the block to Target, since they relocated Walgreens down a few blocks.
