When I lived in the area, this was my go-to gas station, but even once I moved to the other side of town I'd literally drive all the way over here just to get gas. The prices are SO affordable (easily on par with, and sometimes beating, the club prices at Costco and Sam's), and are made even better with the Minnoco rewards discounts (5-10 cents depending on the day). The convenience store also has a good stock of snacks and drinks and such too. Quite possibly my favorite business in Minneapolis solely because the gas prices here cannot be beat!! read more

I am always on the lookout to support black-owned businesses, and I was very happy to find out that Lonnie McQuirter is the owner and proprietor of 36Lyn. I absolutely LOVE coming here, not only because I live less than a half mile from here, but because of the AWESOME customer service, the awesome convenience store, and super-low gas prices. Lonnie and his staff are always friendly, smiling, polite, helpful, and cordial. They know who lives in the neighborhood and are happy to acknowledge and talk with the regulars. It is truly a gas station/convenience store unlike any other. Where else can you find fresh, organic bananas, sustainably-sourced, organic Peace coffee, organic, local eggs, organic half and half, organic candy, raw honey, eco-friendly soap, vegan snacks, as well as your usual convenience store fare, like Doritos, Cheetos, and the like, because, hey, not everyone is into tomato basil lentil bean harvest snaps, OK? Also, their gas prices are very competitive and are usually lower than any other gas station in the area. If the price is $2.25 at the SA on 35th and Nicollet, 36Lyn's price is usually $2.15 or under, and when it dips to under $2.00 a gallon, if you're lucky, you might be able to fill up, as this place is already very busy most of the time, but it becomes almost near impossible to get into the lot when the gas prices are low. It's like a cheese line!! Got this bit to add: 36Lyn is one of just 21 fast-charging stations for electric cars in the metro, and the entire store is fueled by wind energy, a program offered by Xcel. I am so impressed with how organized and well run this station is, and again, I can't stress enough the variety of organic and vegan offerings that are inside This will always be my favorite gas/convenience store for as long as I live nearby and probably even if I move to another hood. That's right - I'm giving this gas station 5 whole red stars...bam! I've been putting off this review for a while too.. part-laziness, part-selfishness; but everyone obviously knows about the low gas prices now due to it always being packed and a short waiting line for a pump. But I started religiously going here for gas about a year ago for the following reasons: 1) I could get local Peace Coffee for .79c if I brought my own coffee cup 2) The gas was then on-par (now cheaper) than trekking all the way to Costco SLP 3) The clerks inside are SO friendly to me. Like, they even know my name and "shoot the breeze w me-friendly" 4) This is a "locally owned" gas station... where the owner cares about supporting other local business. I mean, did you check out the local section... and hello they have PEACE COFFEE PEOPLE! 5) I have one of those handy, free BP Rewards cards - -so for every 20gallons purchased, I get .05 off my next gas purchase. And yes, they stack!! Obv people are using GasBuddy to find the lowest gas prices. So... it's busy. And I can't have as long conversations in-store like i used to. But this will remain my favorite Mpls gas station for a long time. They're great! read more

This place really gets it right. Much respect to the awesome staff members, who are so welcoming and friendly. The shop itself regularly features local foods and beverages (fruit from Afro Deli, coffee from Peace Coffee and Big Watt, Sebastian Joe's ice cream, Mucci's pizza); it's always great to see local businesses supporting each other. I usually wouldn't think too much about a BP, but I have to say that I'm a fan! Like many other gas stations, this one has an adequate number of fuel pumps, an inside stocked with all the standard goods, and a friendly staff. But what separates this gas station from others is the existence of a decent car wash! A gas station with a car wash in Minneapolis -let alone Uptown- is as rare as finding someone living here that doesn't like Prince. For about $10, you can wash the dirt and salt off your car in about five minutes! Also, if you want a more thorough cleaning, there are several other available options. Just know that after purchasing a car wash at a fuel pump, it is not upgradable at the box where you enter your code. Yelpers of Uptown/Kingfield!! I'm going to save you so much money. This gas station is the cheapest in the neighborhood (beating neighboring gas stations by $.10 minimally) and I noticed that on one day this gas station had the same price as Costco in St. Louis Park. They also have Peace Coffee for $.99, which is truly awesome. Oh, and! This is one of the only car washes in Uptown, so it's truly full service. read more

Nothing particularly great about the gas station itself. Sometimes the gas is $0.10 more expensive here than at other places in the neighborhood. What makes me come back is the extremely convenient car wash. It's reasonably priced and a "must" for maintaining a rust-free vehicle through the salt of a MN winter. read more

This is an update to my previous review. The cookies increased to $1.29. Still cheaper than Rustica, but the Rustica seems to decrease the size of the cookie and increase the price over time. This is not the fault of the gas station obviously. But the coffee used to have raw honey as an option and almond milk. Now they don't seem to have either one. The price is the same, but the options are fewer. Actually they gave me my coffee free one time because they actually remembered that I'd been there one time wanting coffee and they hadn't had any. Very cool people work here. Everyone is very nice--especially the owner. They also have a lot of other local products at very reasonable prices compared to the co-ops. read more

Listen I don't usually do this but the good samaritans who work at this wholesome lovely community strong gas station need to be recognized on a different level.. Iv walked in here on numerous occasions for their awesome one dollar coffee (if you bring a thermos) and watched the staff handle some pretty hectic situations with ease.. they made me feel welcome and were able to answer my dumb questions about kombucha and some cava drink they have.. good work I wish all stores were as nice as & intolerant to B.S like y'all read more

I've been to a lot of gas stations in my lifetime, but for some reason I always find myself coming back to this one! It could be the friendly service from the employees that always seem to have a smile on their face... It could be that I use my Roundy's Rewards card and get 10 cents off a gallon of gas... It could be the Rain X touchless wash rewards program (which if I may say, is the ONLY car wash that sufficiently gets my vehicle clean). There are many reasons I can think of that make this such a great little gas station. In the uptown area there are a lot of gas stations, but for great customer service (that's still with a smile), a cheap car wash that actually gets your car to shine, and gas that cleans your engine while you drive, I would say this is the best place to visit! read more

The guy absolutely swears by BP gas and this station always has some of the best prices in the southern metro! Both the inside and outside of this station are kept very clean, with any mess being cleaned up almost immediately. The employees here are normally always kind, courteous, and willing to help. Best gas station for real. They sell lots of local products which I love and tons of vegan, vegetarian, gluten free snack options. Peace coffee is cheap here and it's awesome, lots of bananas too!
