This is my local TJ store, I love it here. Free 1 hr parking ramp, flowers are fresh and inexpensive, always bringing out new snacks to try. I also love the new striped totes, got some for myself for $2.99/ea. Such a good deal for cute mini totes. The workers are friendly and always answering questions regarding their products. This last trip, I found the cutest pink strawberries on the shelf. Such a delightful and unexpected find. Sometimes, I pick up seasonal products that I end up loving so much I wish they were available year-round. Their popular and seasonal items can sell out quickly especially during busy months. So it can be a good idea to stock up before they disappear. Love Trader Joe's! I was staying at the Canopy hotel nearby and delighted to basically have this attached to the hotel. I even made some meals out of my visits here, loading up on yogurt, smoothies, jerky, and yeah ok I even crushed a bag of their beach day gummies. One thing that stood out, at least on one visit, was just how uncrowded it was in here. Most TJ's are always bursting at the seams, but this was a nice change of pace to not feel so overwhelming. It seems really easy to get in and out here even in a downtown; I mean, I walked, but I did see the parking lot and the set up was nice. They also have a beer & wine section attached but separate from the main area. Great spot, great location. read more

If you live nearby, consider yourself blessed because this is the most affordable grocery store in the Mill district. I think this might be the best Trader Joe's in the city. Located on the corner of Washington Ave, this is a very busy but pleasant shopping experience. The workers are friendly, the shelves are well stocked, and security is attentive. There is a lot of moving parts and the atmosphere is fast paced, but if you want something basic they will have it. The selection is surprisingly large for a downtown grocery store, and tbey stay open until 9pm which is super convenient when you are missing an item or 2. I haven't tried parking but know that it's extremely limited, but if you are within walking distance bringing your hulken bag, the area around it is also extremely relaxed due to the large amounts of downtowners this place serves. Stopped by early evening on a Monday and had a good experience here. I parked in the lot they have right around the corner of the store for free. They didn't have time limit since it was after 6 pm. The environment inside was quite busy as most people were shopping after work. Despite this, the cash registers were all working and there was little to no wait time to checkout, which I really appreciated. Everything was clean, and they had everything I was looking for in stock. Would definitely come back! read more

Who doesn't love a good Trader Joe's visit?! This is our go to location as it's right down town. I love that there's paid street parking as well as a private lot (which is free if you're shopping). Inside there's a section for the liquor store and a section for the actual store. The store itself is normally really well staffed- you'll find employees in the isles, at the registers and everywhere else. I love how easy it is to ask questions or get help locating an item that either moved or is no longer on the shelf. For the most part this location is always popping and busy- but it doesn't change the mood, everyone working is friendly and helpful. I find that they stock a lot in the evenings which can be a little annoying just because I feel rude having to ask to sneak in but I'm not about to complain about a well stocked store! The liquor store feels a little small and honestly we don't go in very much, but in a pinch it'll do. If you like Trader Joes stop on in! Never been? All the more reason to! read more

Wow. I've never felt so good about store I've never stepped foot in. Here's why: I had my first date planned with a girl I've grown feelings for, and we had planned virtual date for the evening. We've been talking long distance, so I wanted her to feel me there (in spirit haha), so I asked her to get some pasta on me from Trader Joe's in preparation for a movie night with her favorite home made dish. Prior to her arrival I called the store to ask if could purchase some flowers and have them given to her as a pre-paid surprise... I spoke to Kit and he said, "Cole, we love doing this kind of stuff- it's our favorite." After offering to pay, he refused, said he would take care of it and personally would make sure it got delivered. BUT WAIT... there's more. He had a custom bouquet made for her (pictured) AND wrote a custom message from me on a card per my request. Fast forward. She walked in the store that day... was tracked down by 5 employees to make absolutely sure that she received the gift from her "boyfriend guy from another state". She got back in the car after that to FaceTime me, couldn't stop laughing, and said that nobody has ever done something so sweet for her. We went on to have the most wonderful date... I mean... literally it went on for a collective 10 hours. Thank you Kit, and the rest of the TJ staff for helping me to make her feel like the most special girl in the world. Prior to my Yelp career I stopped in to TJ's and if reviewed probably would have given them 2 stars. Finally a revisit and this store is very impressive. Similar to Fresh Thyme with fresh items, unique natural brands without the trendy prices. If you like creative juices they are well stocked as well as chips, mostly all gluten free and not the usual convenience store junky stuff. Employees move quickly around the store in almost cautious fashion of concern about their jobs. The checkouts were busy with one lane closed. Suddenly a man, probably a manager, walked to the office and rang a bell. An employee was nearly running to quickly open the last lane. I certainly hope the company isn't run like a boot camp. Of course a huge selection of veggies and fruit, but not much of deli style grab and go items. read more

I love Trader Joe's and its great to have one right in Minneapolis. I was wary of a downtown location because parking can be a hassle. However, they have a parking lot that's free for the first hour of parking, which gives plenty of time to pick up your groceries. There is a wide selection of products and there is plenty of stock of food you want- I have rarely seen products that were out or gone. The customer service is friendly and every encounter I've has with an employee is positive. If there Isa product I'm looking for, someone is always willing to help me find it or check the back room if it's not on a shelf. The liquor section is also fun to scroll through. There are several products from local and national places, and you can buy single beers of any type and make your own 6-pack! read more

I always love going to this Trader Joe's. They do have their own parking lot in the first hour of parking is free, which is all you'll ever need. Parking can be difficult if you're going during busy trafficking hours such as Saturday or Sundays. But outside of that this place is great. Customer service is always on point. I have loved Trader Joe's from the first moment I started shopping there years ago. This location is new to me, as it's only the second time I've been here. It's as great as the other locations at which I've shopped. This store appears to be smaller than other locations, though it hasn't detracted from the shopping experience. This location is convenient for those who don't drive. We take the bus and it's a very short trip from downtown Minneapolis. The bus drops off right in front of the store and catching it is only across the street. read more

This is my go to Trader Joe's! Yes, it is downtown Minneapolis- do not let that scare you. Parking is validated up to 1 hour and is a covered lot. I'm a big supporter of the entire freezer section. Fried rice, pasta, veggies, pizza, ice cream, it's all AMAZING. Comfort food that could not be easier to prepare. The produce is also a highlight. I have had great experiences each week ish I go. The prices at TJ are also incredible. I almost always save $.50-1 on each item vs Target. Plus the quality is better in my opinion. The workers at TJ are so friendly. When you are checking out they will strike up a conversation while ringing you up in record time. The store is so well maintained too. Can't recommend this location enough. read more

This is a solid Trader Joes location. It is actually fairly large and spread out for being in a downtown area. There is also a parking lot right next door which is free (there is also street parking which is sometimes more convenient). All of the produce is always fresh. The bathrooms are also always clean (at least in my experience) which in itself is a huge plus. All of the individuals that work there are great and friendly and very helpful. read more

This is a typical Trader Joe's. Good service and good products. The parking is soooo easy folks and free! I don't know why I forced myself to go the crappy Trader Joe's in Shoreview due to fear of finding parking here for so long. This store not only has easier parking than Shoreview ( ironically ) but much better service (the staff at Shoreview is consistently terrible). Love this Trader Joe's though, this is like the 7 other Trader Joe's in various parts of the country I have been too, fantastic. read more

When I found out that our hotel literally sat above a Trader Joe's, I wanted to scream from the rooftops! We were in town for a family wedding and were going to have a babysitter come to the hotel room, so I went to Trader Joe's and stocked up on snacks for her while she hung out with our 8 month old for the night. We were headed to our lake cabin shortly after, so instead of having to hit up a small town grocery store on the way (and overpay for many things), I was able to get all of my TJ's favorites!!! YES, please! Everyone was so friendly! It was interesting that in MN, they sell liquor separately but this location had the alcohol part of TJ's right next store. So convenient! I found cockroaches on the shelf and I was telling my a crew member and they really didn't care and I got upset with her and then another crew member didn't understand I was upset and I was told never to go back again, which is fine. I love shopping at Trader Joe's and this one is no exception! Everyone who works here is happy and helpful. We walked over here from the Marriott to pick up some snacks and beverages to eat in our hotel room. We were unexpectedly surprised to see that we could buy individual beers and seltzers and grabbed a few. It was unusual to me that the liquor department was in a separate section of the store and required it's own door to enter. Maybe that's a Minnesota thing? In Illinois it's just blended in with the rest of the store. My shopping here wasn't excessive since I knew that I had to carry it back to the hotel so I also got 1 banana and some of those dark chocolate toffees covered in pistachio nuts. That stuff is like crack! It's not a long walk from the Marriott and the walk is a nice outing after eating a big meal. Grab a few things and save yourself from using the Marriott $$$ pantry! read more

I just left and I already can't wait to go again! Trader Joe's on Washington Ave is a brand spankin' new beauty! It took me awhile to get here, but dropping in yesterday night before they closed made me so happy. I parked in their parking lot in the back (enter by turning right onto Chicago Ave) and went through the back entrance where the shopping carts are stored. Before I went to Trader Joe's, I made a list of things I hadn't tried before that I wanted to look for on the shelves. I found everything I was looking for! Whether it be hash browns, kombucha, or Yellow Thai Curry sauce, they had it all. The most expensive item I bought was about $4 (sliced gyro meat...I could not believe that they had this!), so their prices overall are reasonable. Some of the frozen foods aren't worth their price since the bags were so small (their mango chunks and chicken nugget bags were super tiny) but for the most part, I would shop here again for dry goods. The employees were extremely nice and the check out process was quick! The store itself is clean and everything was fresh. My only small complaint happened after I left the store. When you pay for your groceries, the cashier gives you a parking validation (for FREE PARKING just as long as you park UNDER 1 HOUR in their lot) which you put underneath a scanner upon exit. I scanned it many times and it kept giving me a red light and the bar wasn't going up for me to leave, so I had to press the button to call for help. A lady eventually answered, asked me what ramp I was in, and lifted the bar for me, but the parking validation itself did not work. I don't know if anyone else has had this issue, but just a heads up for people visiting for the first time that they have a parking time limit which everyone should be aware of, so they aren't charged an excessive parking fee. read more

Sweet, first to review! Today is their grand opening at this location. I was really excited to shop here, and had been waiting in anticipation for the opening once I saw the new location in the neighborhood. As soon as I walked up, I was greeted by a friendly woman wanting to put a lei around my neck- Inside, they had a band playing covers from the 70's and 80s. I hadn't shopped at a TJ's since my LA days, because they only exist here in the burbs, or out of the way, and I do not drive. That alone earns them 4 stars. The staff were all very attentive, friendly, and helpful like they are at any TJ's (they train them well). The selections here are so awesome. I ended buying a face serum, which is a change of pace for me (I usually buy specific things online) and a green drink powder (among a selection of other groceries). They discontinued my European yogurt, which is a bummer, but I'll get over it. What is the hype with the Greek stuff? Thank you for coming to Minneapolis!!! read more

Trader Joe's never disappoints! Superb service, produce, and amazing finds! I am so beyond excited for Trader Joe's downtown Minneapolis. No more driving out of my way to the suburbs. I have been waiting for the opening since last year!!! There is parking especially for the customers. The first hour is free. You have to ask for validation at checkout. There is also the liquor store next door. We love everything Trader Joe's and were impressed with the downtown location. My baby and I will be coming here multiple times a week. Yuck. Yuck-o-rama. Just yuck. Quick factoid: Traditional supermarkets carry about 50,000 products. Trader Joe's typically carries around 4000. Most of these are items from private suppliers rebranded under the Trader Joe's label. Despite carrying so few products, Trader Joe's is constantly recalling products tainted with listeria, salmonella, and glass shards. Despite their marketing schtick, Trader Joe's doesn't really deliver on the sustainable food practices front. These cats package EVERYTHING in plastic. Most of the produce is shipped from California, so you won't find a local vegetable here, despite their being in season and quite tasty right now. A lot of the organic items here are overly processed and packaged. You can leave a much smaller footprint shopping at a co-op or a farmers market or a supermarket or even Aldi's, which (surprise) is owned by the same company. Every single price here ends in a 9. Most in 99. I'm tired of stores that trick me into thinking something is cheaper. Even the "2 buck chuck" is $2.99 plus tax. For crying out loud, just be honest. read more

Man I have always loved Trader Joe's, but since moving here and frequenting this location for my grocery shopping, I REALLY LOVE Trader Joe's (do you think they would let me rent it out for my wedding someday?). The staff is incredibly kind, unique, diverse, and really care about what they are doing and about consumers. You don't always get this in underappreciated jobs, but every employee makes an effort to smile and say hi at a bare minimum. I'm never disappointed when I'm looking for new release items and they usually get them on the shelf pretty fast. When I asked about a few fall items they didn't have yet, they even asked when they expected them to ship in so I would know when to come back. I selfishly don't want people to go to Trader Joe's and fall in love with it so it isn't crowded, but as a true TJ's fanatic I want to spread the good word. Another bonus is although it's downtown, they offer free one hour of parking with validation which you get at checkout. read more

I normally love going to Trader Joe's but I'm really disappointed. I went yesterday and got a pack of the whole wheat tortillas. The date on the package says 7/5. I opened them up and every. single. one. has mold on it. Disgusted and disappointed I wasted my money on this and you try to sell customers moldy tortillas. My spring rolls were so disappointing. Not only were they not stuffed enough so there was an excessive amount of spring wrapper, there weren't any noodles and my rolls each had one shrimp a piece. One.Shrimp. Not worth the $7 I had to pay for lettuce and peanut sauce. I might improve my rating if this pizza dough is as good as they say it is, but my disappointing spring rolls may just trump that since I am now faced with still being hungry after lunch. read more

I love Trader Joe's. Seriously. My friend turned me onto their burrata cheese and whole wheat pizza dough a couple years ago and since then I keep coming back, finding something new to enjoy each time. I now do my primary shopping here, especially because it isn't a far walk from the U.S. Bank Stadium station (Green and Blue lines). If you're driving, they offer shoppers free validation for the first hour at the garage right by the store. If it's your first time, or you are like me and always interested to know what people recommend, I would grab some of their burrata cheese, whole wheat pizza dough, dark ch. peanut butter cups, peanut butter pretzels and green tea. Another favorite is their (frozen) cauliflower gnocchi that I cook with their pearl tomatoes, chicken sausage and tomato sauce. See you next week, TJ's! read more

Oh my. I have no words except Trader Joe's stole my heart. I was so excited to see there was Trader Joe's by US Bank stadium, right by the green line. It is a perfect location and even offers free parking (although I heard it is only up to an hour). My favorite buys from Trader Joe's has been the cauliflower gnocchi, the reduced-guilt guacamole, and the cookie butter. My roommate also bought the peanut butter cups, which are the perfect treat. I cant wait to try even more products and dont worry, I will be back (probably every week). read more
