I lived here for a year and a half with my boyfriend-I had previously lived in The Shoreham and Aqua, this was the 3rd high-rise within the New East Side I had lived in-
The residents in this building are more settled and you will not have the noise factor here at all-This is a condo bldg where some owners rent, so the residents do have money and are older-However there are a handful or younger residents and a couple of families-
I will list the pros of this building:
1) Convenient location, above a grocery store, CVS next door, restaurants-
2) Great gym, not as nice as Aqua's, but not full of douche-bags either-
3) Staff is great and very helpful-
4) Pretty decent structure, never heard noise like you would at Shoreham or Aqua-
Cons:
1) The condo owners are a little stiff, which makes sense but I think there are some very bored people living here-For instance...there is no need for a HUGE fan in the gym-I never saw anyone that looked like an athlete busting a sweat so intense that they need a 3 foot NFL fan blowing at them-The gym is meant to "warm up" the body...I bet the owner association meeting are intense here for someone wanted that fan pretty bad-
2) Mariano's causes a lot of foot traffic, so it is very, very busy by the building-
3) GEM's Academy is now open so a lot of families/kids have moved into the area-I moved into the New East Side in 2009 and it was very different, it's very populated now, good or bad thing-If you like kids then you'll be happy in the area-
4) Heating/Cooling is so annoying in the bldg and the monthly bill is high-I believe they are correcting this issue now or is already corrected-
Overall this is a very nice bldg-Management is limited though, they take off early and are not in on the weekends, but the front desk staff can help with almost everything-
This is for a person that doesn't want to live in the loop, by the el and doesn't want to live in a bldg with young people-Ideal for me, but wanted to try a new area- read more
