It was pretty chill in there so it seemed to be manageable. Myself and the people with me ordered the lunch special which is $10. It comes with 2 sides however, the sides are all carbs so it's kind of difficult to choose 2 cause I really didn't want rice and mashed potatoes or fries and mashed potatoes , etc. My mom got the ribs with coleslaw and rice. I got the half chicken with rice and I paid a little extra for tostones instead of the sides it came with. My man got the pulled pork with double fries. Their ribs were good and the pulled pork was solid but everything else was lacking in flavor it lacked salt and pepper and just flavor in general. However, they did have sauces that they brought out after I requested it and the green sauce they had was very yummy and paired really well with my chicken. I also did an order of their Texas Twinkie's and those were absolutely delicious! They were filled with pulled pork and cheese and wrapped in bacon and a sticky sweet sauce. They packed some spice. Lastly I want to say we loved the drinks. My man got a virgin pina colada and I got the cocktail with banana recommended by the waitress it was STRONG AND DELICIOUS I was quite giddy. I wouldn't mind giving this restaurant another visit. The Picana sandwich looks delicious.

It's in the same group of buildings such as Michael's (around the corner). My visit here was on October 27, 2025. The outside view of the business is simple, but effective. They have a specials chalkboard next to the entrance. Parking wasn't an issue on this visit, but I'm sure it can fill up at busier times. My mom and I were both in the area as she wanted to go to the Michael's store here. When we came inside, it wasn't busy, as it was around 3:30 pm when we got here. We were greeted by the one who would be our server for this visit. He gave us menus to look at and asked us for our drink orders. I generally stick with water with lemon, which I did here. We were there during the time where it was still the lunch menu (though for us, it was more like dinner for us that day). When he came back with the drinks, he asked if we were ready to order, but we weren't just yet. He also asked if we had any questions about the menu and options and gave us more time to mull over the menu. When he came back, we weren't completely ready, but asked a question about the specials of the day. After that, we knew what we would get and placed our food order. My mom ordered the Meatloaf Lunch Special with mashed potatoes and spinach. I went with the Meatball Sub Lunch Special with mashed potatoes, though I don't normally do potatoes that often. After about ten minutes or so, the food came to the table. The food looked really good, and it was hot too. The bread for the Meatball Sub was very soft and easy to eat. The meatballs were huge and made for a worthy meal. The mashed potatoes with gravy was really good and fulfilling too. My mom loved the meatloaf, and their meatloaf doesn't have ketchup on it like some other places do. She loved the meatloaf, spinach, and mashed potatoes too. After we were done, he asked if we wanted any desserts. We both declined as I normally don't do them anymore. Overall, we both had an excellent experience here. The food and service were on point. The food I had that day did spike my blood sugars, but I expected that with bread and mashed potatoes. I don't make a habit of that though. They are a great local business. There are lots of food options to choose from. If you are looking for a place to eat while in this part of Chesapeake, this place is worth coming to.

The vibe is whatever you want it to be, as some were dressed up & others were casual. We made reservations a few days ahead of time for a Friday night, but walks in were welcome & it's wasn't crowded when we arrived. When it comes to the parking situation, avoid the lot beside Still that's is labeled for the Mustard Seed Place. (We almost were towed but came back in the nick of time). We thought the open spaces without signs were open parking spots since the other spots were clearly labeled for Mustard Seed Place & Bon Secours. We entered the side door and were instantly transported into a basement speakeasy feeling restaurant. The host asked if we had reservations & then we were immediately seated. We enjoyed a small table lit candle and were surrounded by other couples without feeling too close or subtracting from the intimacy. We started with drinks: ~A Pineapple Bourbon Honey Sour - a well balanced drink that was tastefully sweet. ~Lavender 75 - I was initially cautious of gin, but the waitress assured me it was delicious & she was right. ~Old Fashioned - perfect! For Tapas we ordered: ~ Cornbread - cooked to absolute perfection, crispy on the outside, but moist & cake like on the inside. As a lavender girly, the lavender butter was delectable and subtle. I need inquire about buying some of that to go! ~Brussels (my FAV) - this was the largest plate and the Brussels were cooked to perfection and sauced in a tasty concoction. ~Bacon Wrapped Tots - served with 4 on a skewer. We initially were going to skip these because the name sounded like bacon and tater tots, but were pleasantly surprised that the tot was a homemade, cheesy, delicious latke like creation. (Another fav) ~Beef Filet - served with mashed potatoes and mustard seeds. This was also cooked perfectly & tasted delicious but was gone after we both shared a bite. All in all, this restaurant is a must visit, keeping in mind that the portions are intentionally smaller so you can share and try multiple items. The items do not come out in the sequence you order them, so I'm glad we ordered everything at once. The service was great and we look forward to visiting again. One small note, would be to fix the table legs. We ended up stuffing a napkin under a leg to keep it from wobbling. But that didn't finish our experience.
