Tiny diner with really good food at a great price. It's off the main drag and it's not to be missed. Servers are friendly. Hell... the other customers are friendly. They have several military decorations on the walls and other typical decorations. They only take cash!!! I didn't see that sign and had to run out and grab cash. Down home cooked food! We are staying at Big Ridge State Park and found this diner on Yelp! We had the honor of sitting at the bar and watching the main chef work magic on the flattop grill. The magic continued with the 6 ladies all working together in a well orchestrated flow. I had the bacon and cheese omelet - bacon was flowing out mixed nicely with American cheese, and the egg was cooked to perfection. My husband had two eggs and bacon; he also had an abundance of bacon. Very satisfied!! Our meals also came with choice of toast or biscuits and gravy - we went for the biscuits and gravy. The gravy was delightful and clearly made fresh (not the package stuff you get at the store!). There was a line out the door when we got up to leave, this is the place to go on a Saturday morning. This small town country diner didn't disappoint! Was a little concerned when we drives up as the outside looked like it was a dive, but inside took me back in time and was very comfortable with good ole southern hospitality! Neat little diner right on Hwy. 33 in the city of Maynardville. Breakfast is usually my favorite. The prices are really reasonable. A lot of the lunch sides are very noticeably out of the can and out of the freezer but it's still good. I think it would be better if everything was made from scratch and was true home cooking but I'll take what I can get. Go give them a shot. The owners and staff are great. read more
