Next, I stopped by Sunset Beach in historic Tarpon Springs to see what all the hype was about. It…read morewas definitely much busier than Robert K. Rees Memorial Park. Families were enjoying the water, and they were even setting up for a wedding ceremony while I was there, which gave the beach a really warm, community feel. For me, though, I had the same experience I did at Robert K. Rees. As soon as I stepped into the water, I could feel a soft muddy layer mixed in with the sand under my feet. The water also looked like it had very little movement, almost as if it wasn't circulating much, which just wasn't appealing to me. I know plenty of people love this beach, and that's perfectly okay. It's simply not the kind of beach I'm searching for. I'm still on the hunt for those crystal-clear waters and firm, sandy bottom that make me want to stay all day.

Yet again another non-swimmable beach. This was another Tarpon Springs Beach we stopped at since…read morethere was no way we would get close to Clearwater Beach on the Sunday they had the take over and it was chaos! This beach is pretty bc of the palm trees on the beach but the water is very shallow here like not even ankle deep until you walk far in and there's tons of seaweed. Come for a picnic when it's cooler out, but don't expect to be swimming in the water. Non residents pay $5 a day or pay for a yearly permit. Residents are free with a registered City-issued permit.

I had a GREAT front row seat during the whole thing. You can either park on the Causeway or in the park I, chose the park. I believe the Causeway is a little bit overrated due to lack of shade , unless you plan on hanging out on the tailgate of your SUV or inside your Camper/Van. You need to make sure you get there early, I was there at 4:30pm and the fireworks starts at 9:00pm. There are things around to entertain you while you wait, I'm an extrovert so, I pretty much talked/met with a lot of people, it was very fun! All-In-All I'll be back next year with the same plan I had today! Totally worth it when it was only Free-hundred dollars!

This is where you can take those pics. They also have picnic tables. As for swimming, I would say no. So much seaweed and not enough water. I believe it's a combination of the tide and the lack of rain too. The parking here is $6 and you can pay through park mobile. They say no dogs and there are tons of signs. My pup and I stayed in our car while my husband went to check the water. It was a good reminder why we don't go to this beach. Unfortunately, this was the day of the craziness in Clearwater with the teen takeover with all the chaos.

Good amount of people and kids. Everyone was really friendly (my umbrella almost flew away and a group of ladies got it for me). There was a group of boys that seemed really nice having other kids join to play. Seemed to have a lot of positive vibes there. Warning: please don't go near the rocks. There is a half barrier wall and at the end is a pile of Boulders/Big Rocks with SHARP barnacles I barely touched them and have paper cuts all over my hands looking around for shells, they guys with me have deep cuts of there shins and feet. Highly recommend gloves and proceed with caution is looking for shells. It was mostly calm water. Towards the end it had some decent waves, for the Gulf side anyways.

The banana slushie had ice cubes as big as pebbles floating in a white mixture tasting vaguely of banana. The mango smoothie looked radioactive and was clearly nothing but chemicals. If it doesn't come in a bottle or a can, just say no. We had a fried fish sandwich, a hotdog, one each of these terrible drinks and a Diet Pepsi for almost $50. If you can, go to Clearwater Beach.

The team that maintains the beach and all areas that are connected to it Do a GREAT job maintaining the sand as well as the bathrooms and parking area, as for the guard staff i have never had a problem with them (But i am polite and non-confrontational) and that is what I get back from them, One of the Best events at the beach and is open to all is Easter Morning sunrise service put on by Sprit of Grace church every easter for over twenty years there is over 400 people that come and boats anchor just offshore to be at the service. and it is always up lifting.
