Imagine what Fuzzy's would be like if the tacos were heavier/heartier and you have 3 Parrots Taco. (If you're not familiar with Fuzzy's, Google baja tacos and you'll have an idea of what to expect.) While some people might like this and some people might not, I lean towards the middle. If I was a resident of Benbrook, then this place is great. (Driving out of Benbrook can be a bit of a chore.) Unfortunately I'm not so it's only okay meaning I wouldn't get out of my way to come visit, but if someone wanted to eat here I wouldn't protest. Now I did encounter something pretty neat. The cashier hinted at a tip by stating could you fill this out for me and slightly lingered enough for you to understand what is being implied. I haven't run across this before and thought it was creative. By asking someone to fill out the receipt you're forcing them to consider the tip line. Props to that cashier. Unfortunately, while tip jars are okay, asking for tips no matter how subtle is a turn off and so I didn't comply. read more

I've never had a problem. I will say this, when service sucks, such a unpleasant experience especially when someone takes my order and they give me a rude attitude because they don't understand the first time and the fact that I should get frustrated and I don't but she gives me attitude about it is the worst! I didn't even want to eat there anymore... honestly I'll never go because of it. She asked everyone else if they were doing fine but didn't even care to say anything to us... I have no clue why she had to be so rude... ive been there before but I haven't been there in a while but coming back to that made me not want to go again. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant closest to home. It is unique because it has cool beach theme unlike most Mexican restaurants. The owner and employees actually converse with customers. Queso and guacamole dips were authentic so was the Gnarly Burrito with shrimps. Sweet Tea like my granny used to make was a huge plus!! read more

I ordered 2 Baja Tacos- 1 chicken fajita & 1 Beef Fajita. An order of Chips & Salsa. And an order of Chips & Queso. The queso was so-so, as was the salsa which had the taste & consistency of something I'd buy in a jar at the grocery store. The chips were inedibly salty. They went straight to the trash. The Baja Tacos were really really good though. The Chicken actually was quite amazing. Next time i'll just skip the sides & munchies & order 2 or 3 Baja Chicken Fajita Tacos. read more

While there are better places in town for Mexican food, 3 Parrots is a a good stop for Tex Mex. It's reminiscent of Fuzzy's Tacos. The beverages are frosty and the prices won't break your budget. Great tacos, unfortunately, the sides are just barely average, to awful. The Good: Chicken, pork, brisket tacos - All Excellent Salsa & Mojo Sauce - Also excellent, tastes freshly made. Ice cold draft beer at reasonable prices. The Not So Good: Rice - Very little flavor, and a little mushy Grilled Potatoes - Are you serious? Frozen hash browns that were soggy and luke warm - the potatoes have never seen a grill Guacomole - Tastes like a bland, thin (no avocado chunks) commercially made guac. Borracho & Black Beans - OK, but nothing to write home about Refried Beans - Just don't - very odd tasting Queso - Meh, taste like canned nacho cheese Bottom line: 4 stars for the tacos - 1 star for the sides. if you're in the mood for some good baja style tacos, reasonably priced schooners of beer and some tasty chips & salsa - this is a great place. Was looking forward to this chain opening in Benbrook. Haven eaten at 3 Parrots other location. This location missed the mark. Refried beans tasted like paste, rice was dried out and unflavorful, grilled fish tacos were too "fishy" tasting and lacked seasonings. The queso was bland and lacked any kind of mexican spice. Would have thought they would have been "on their game" considering recent opening. Obviously need more training in how to prepare the food. Arrangement is clumsy having the door to the kitchen right where you stand to order and pay for the food so when there is a line....bump, bump, bump. Server window to pick up food stretches into the area where you are suppose to line up. Guess it might work if only 1 or 2 patron in the restaurant. We love 3 Parrots!!! The food is great, the beer is COLD and cheap, and its convenient! Their customer service is excellent too! They tend to remember orders and preferences and are on top of taking care of their customers! We come in about 2-3 times a month. I frequent this place. I only know of two locations that are remotely close to where I live. I highly suggest getting the Baka tacos, I minus the pico and the lettuce and add cilantro. I always get at least one shrimp and one brisket, but the pork is phenomenal as well. I honestly am so impressed with the tacos that I have not ventured out to try anything else. Other then starting off with some quest, which is also pleasing to my taste buds. Also side note if you are a sweet tea fan theirs isn't too bad. The staff is always friendly and on top of their business. 3 parrots has honestly topped fuzzy tacos for me and trust me when I say I love fuzzy tacos. I have yet to have a bad experience here. I think the only thing I would change is adding sliced avocado to the taco topping options, because I am a fan of that. read more

The food was ok. Not anything special. I had the burrito bowl which is what the girl at the register recommended. It was a bowl of "ingredients in a bowl with a taco shell at the bottom. There was no cohesive flow or flavor that made it work together. Just rice, black beans, chicken, a pinch of cheese and a drizzle of what looked to be ranch but there was so little i could not tell what it was. After i ate the contents i was still hungry but there was just a soggy taco shell at the bottom which looked gross. For the $10 price tag i would go somewhere else. read more

This place is right down the street from our place and just love it! Beer is $2.95 which is VERY appealing to me for a scooner. Shrimp tacos are my favorite with rice and potatoes! They send of coupons in the mail for buy one get one free deals. This place caters to the community around them. Super cute inside and staff is very nice! Highly recommend! I eat here at least weekly. It is a place where I can get really good fish tacos and the sides are pretty good too. I especially like the black beans and the grilled potatos. The fish tacos are always freshly grilled and taste great the way they dress them. The only complaint with the tacos I could think of is that they are so hot right off the grill that I have to let them cool for a bit. It is a great alternative for someone like me that doesn't eat red meat or dairy. The staff is friendly and now knows my name and my usual order. And... the beer is unfailingly ICE cold.
