Such a lovely setting in the Eagle foothills. Fantastic food and some of the best wines all made from grapes grown on their land. It is located off the beaten path and you do have to drive a dirt road for several miles but once you get there, the views are beautiful! read more

So we have been going to 3HRV for about 2 years now. Today was probably the worst we experienced in the two years. Again I want to reiterate that we have been going for two years. We decided to go to 3HRV for today and our friends who are Equinox Members went with were treated like crap. There was 6 of us and honestly I personally have 13 different wine clubs in the Treasure Valley and Napa and Paso Robles and I will say that this is the WORST wine club. Every wine club that we have including #Koenig in Nampa offers free tastings for at least 4 people. Not at 3HRV. They are so cheap greedy owners. Gary can keep his lunch box menu. We left after maybe 1/2 hour and just went to Dude DeWalt. We had such a great time that we were there for two hours. We were treated like any patron should be. 3HRV has great views but they are just snobbish 3HRV wine is not all that. In my own opinion they have just got bigger heads then what they are. Honestly go to Koenig, Hat Ranch, or even Dude DeWalt. Stay away from 3 Horse Ranch Vineyard as there are much better wineries in the Treasure Valley. read more

Ate lunch there today and can recommend Three Horse very highly. French onion soup, salmon cakes, rib eye, Key Lime Pie and chocolate torte were all wonderful. The wines were excellent as always. Gary, Martha and the staff are friendly and competent. I am a big fan of Pinot Gris and theirs is the best. read more

This is the epitome of the loved and cared for boutique winery. Be sure to check if they have any "library " wines available. These are the best and last bottles from previous years. I am pretty sure they try to avoid selling these extremely limited wines because once they are gone, they cannot be replaced. Great appetizers and conversations abound! read more

I've heard wonderful things about this winery so I was excited to try it. After making the drive for a wine tasting we were turned away and told they were booked for the day. After reading other reviews I guess the "wine tasting" sign is misleading. You have to reserve at the restaurant I guess and order a flight. Other wineries I've been to you've always been able to walk in and have a casual tasting, not the case here, unfortunately. read more

I read the reviews and thought this place was going to be awesome. Unfortunately, we had a horrible experience. The wine was alright but the food was terrible. The mussels were so fishy and the burger was undercooked. All of the food was truly the worst food I've ever eaten. We left all of our food basically untouched. When the waitress asked how the food was we said the mussels were terrible, she laughed and made a snarky comment. Will never be back. Do yourself a favor and skip this one. read more

We've been here twice since moving to Eagle and it's our new favorite place to show people! The staff is always friendly and smiling, the food is delicious, and (of course the wine) the wine was delicious! We love this winery! I had high hopes for this place, as I happily support many Idaho, and non-Idaho wineries. However the service this visit was slow and poor, despite not being overly busy. I ordered a wine flight, as there are no regular tastings, and 2 of the 3 wines seemed surprisingly off so I asked for fresh pours of those. Instead of acknowledgment of anything possibly off, or any gesture of customer service, however small, such as an off bottle (not unheard of) or warmer serving temperature in the heat or anything, or perhaps a different sample of something, or a dollar off or something, I was ignored and then later the winemaker came out to argue with me. I've never been treated that way before, being a paying customer, and I'm not a wine idiot, so I won't be back, I won't buy their products or join their club, as I was originally considering, despite enjoying their property, one wine, and a burger. Dewalt Cellars up the road, however, is a closer drive to town, and has excellent grounds, wine, food, and service, and is very welcoming, and I'll be back there next weekend. read more

I was super excited to see that my sons race was going to be at a local winery that I was unfamiliar with. The race details said there would be food and wine available. (Upon further review it did say AFTER the race- so that was my misunderstanding) Prior to arriving I looked up the winery and was excited to see the variety of wine options and gift options. During the race I went in to see if I could take a look at the gift options, and find out the food and wine options. Since we'd been outside I thought I'd wash my hands first. I went towards the restroom, when a woman approached me and asked if I had reservations. I told her that I didn't and that I was interested in looking at the items they have and that I thought I'd use the restroom first. She informed me that there were porta potties down by he race course that I could use. I thanked her and said that I thought there was going to be food and wine options to purchase and was excited to check out their items. She informed me that wasn't the case, that there was a private tent outside for some people of the race but that would be much later. I thanked her and left. As a member of numerous regional wineries and someone that enjoys going to wineries often, I've never been treated this way-EVER at any other winery. My 12 year old daughter on the way home mentioned how rude they were and offered up how it could have been handled differently. A child that has never even worked in the hospitality industry recognized the opportunity to provide a better experience. Apparently this winery has enough patrons and obviously aren't interested in additional patrons. I'll happily drink other wines and avoid this one. read more

Such a fun find and cannot wait to come back. Service and ambiance is spectacular. The wine equally amazing. We only tried two and based on those alone we cannot wait to try more. We also tried a cheese platter and homemade French onion soup that I will be dreaming about. We cannot wait to try the other delicious looking treats on the menu. Very well done tasting room. So we've been going to 3 horses for a few years now and always enjoy our visits. Today we enjoyed the new tasting room which was very nice. Congrats and continued success to all of you. Had a very nice chat with Travis and will be back soon. So glad you expanded your menu, great idea. We brought out of town guest there for lunch and wine today as we often do. I've always meant to bring this one suggestion up and today was not the time to do it in front of our guest or embarrass our waitress. BUT do you think that your servers could please make a practice of not announcing the total amount of the bill In front of the entire table. It was embarrassing to our guest who then offered to pay the bill. Just simply let the person who is handing you their credit card see the total. No need to say it out loud for the entire table to here it. It's no ones business except the person paying. Also one last minor thing... nobody likes to pay the tip amount with the server standing right there watching... it's just uncomfortable. Other than those two suggestions keep up the good work. read more

Beautiful long drive out to the winery but that's where it stops. We weren't welcomed there. Our hope was to sit out on the lawn with our own chairs and blankets if needed, enjoy some wine with friends, and perhaps buy some bottles to bring home. The tables were full but the yard was empty and we were turned away. So strange to go to a winery where we weren't allowed to try the wine and buy some. I guess they didn't want our business so we went to the Dude Dewalt Winery where we were welcomed with open arms. read more

We had the greatest experience here. Did the private tasting and were served by the owner Gary. His knowledge, passion and excitement about presenting his wine was amazing! His wife Martha was three too and took us on a tour, she is also amazing! Of course we joined the wine club as their wines are fantastic. I love that it is an estate winery and they only use their own grapes grown on the property. We look forward to many years of enjoying their wines and property. This is my favorite place to visit in the entire Boise Metro Area. There is nothing that compares to the silence and serenity that you experience while sitting outside and sipping their delicious wines. You are surrounded by rolling velvet mocha colored hills and from a distance while driving onto the ranch, you can see rows of emerald vines dotting the hillside (in the spring and summer of course!)--The small menu is a delight too. Escargot, Cheese Plates, Shrimp Boil, Elk Salami, Charcuterie etc. The food is prepared with love and care and the wines are obviously a labor of love! They are first rate and the staff is helpful, knowledgeable, and sweet too! I am very proud that Idaho now has 2 AVA's and one sub AVA of the Snake River Valley in Eagle where this beautiful vineyard and tasting room call home. I will continue to visit on a regular basis and bring along all of my friends and family. LOVE IT! read more

I checked this place out while visiting from California. I've been to more wineries than I can count and I have to give the wine, the location and the experience at 3 Horse Ranch very high marks. Usually you find a lot of pretense with this quality of wine. Not so here. Martha poured for my daughter and I with warm smiles and an obvious passion for what she does. I liked everything I tasted. I too, took home some Vivacious (very surprised to find Roussanne!) and the Syrah/ Mouvedre. The only reason I didn't bring home more is that it wouldn't fit in my suitcase! Martha told me I could order off Amazon and get 1/2 case and the shipping charge is only $9.99! read more

Nice drive out there into the sandy hills north of Eagle. Probably would get hot out there but today it was 70 with blue skies. Very friendly and helpful tasting room. They've got cheese trays or you could even bring out a snack and sit on the back deck. We tried seven of their wines. A couple of surprises but we liked (and bought) the drier "Vivacious" a blend of Viognier and Roussanne grapes and a great blend of Syrah/Mourvedre. This place is worth the short drive over some gravel roads. read more
