After a few attempts to get information and estimates, we landed on Steve the Drapery Guy and things went really well. I decided to move forward to have my kitchen, bedroom and office hallways installed with plantation shutters. The work is absolutely wonderful and the shutters really have improved the look of my home. Having said that, there are two major negatives which led me to give four stars and not five. The first, albeit somewhat minor but annoying, is that they didn't clean up the area of their work leading to me finding screws and other items (from pulling down the old shutters). The second and more major one is that in the bedroom, they clearly made a mistake from the time they came to measure to the actual installation. As you can see from photos, the bed is in the way so the left shutter should be the one to come out first. When Mike came, he accurately mentioned this but the actual shutter was that the right one is the one that comes out first (and which is problematic because the bed is in the way) and the left cannot come out because the right one is held back by the bed post. I think they realized it during install but just didn't bother. Having said that I would actually use them again but would definitely keep an eye on them to make sure the order came out right.

We asked for a quote from My WIndow Solutions, got one that was quite good. We had explained the rationale for getting a replacement window (the leak). Parry sent over his crew right away to caulk around the existing one so we wouldn't get any incursion while waiting for the new one to arrive and get installed. Nice! For this job, I had also asked to have a custom window casing and deep windowsill built. We agreed that I'd buy the materials (a particular trim profile and hardwood species), prime them, and they'd do the cutting and installation. This collaboration worked perfectly.

But when something goes wrong with the windows or blinds, it's the screen guys or contractors in my family that have to tell me that their work is shotty. It hasn't been a year and I have had so many problems and they make it like I am a complainer. My window that previously had large bow that the screen guy had to point out has another problem that bows the other way and won't close properly. Lonnie came out that night, which is priceless and sweet. But he said the window may need to be done again, which makes it so the custom screens need to be redone, which cost me a lot. I'm a disabled senior on fixed income and paid a lot for the windows and blinds. The screen people that are far more experienced and well reviewed said they never saw so many mistakes on brand new windows. It hasn't been a year. I got new windows so I didn't have to worry about them and it's worse now than the old windows. They better stand behind this and help with the screens, because this is unacceptable. Carlos and Joshua came by to replace defective blinds. And they checked other. They really stand behind their products and service. I went on a Saturday morning, there was one other couple being helped by a gentleman. And there was another gentleman there at a desk. Neither greeted us. I'm surprised to had been referred to this spot seeing as there were not a lot of options for what I was sent for, vertical blinds. Clearly this places focus is on more high end shutters. When we were finally helped, the guy was polite and like oh well since you're only interested in those and pulled these books out the back (like old crates lol) which were the different colors and material types of vertical blinds they have (limited). There wasn't much conversation /education on the vertical blinds and no options or advice outside the couple books we'd been presented. If you are a homeowner looking to do some plantation shutters, etc. and spend a lot of money, this maybe the spot for you. I typically do not like to do business where I don't get a warm vibe organically off the top. Especially when I walk into your place of business.
