With a new car, the…read morefolks at Cutting Edge Tint provided both useful advice window treatment installation for my Volvo XC90 that, IMO, improved the overall appearance of the vehicle and also provided essential shading. I entrusted the vehicle with them and returned in a few hours to a job done perfectly. No bubbles nor streaks in the film, no odors, no evidence they worked in the car - it was clean, and there were stickers on the window controls to ensure they were not operated before the film was "set" which required a few days. No problem. The guys working there seemed chill and even welcomed my corny dad jokes. Nice. Total for all windows including windscreen was change under $850.00. NOTE: A Medical doctor's order, and registration with law enforcement is needed for legally using darker tints. Don't be caught without it.

During the pandemic, I purchased a classic van. It came without a stereo; the previous owner…read moreremoved it. I had a small budget for something temporary so I purchased a Pioneer unit on Amazon. Afterwards, I contacted Hot Tint in May 2022. They responded to me that day and told me to stop by the shop. I made an appointment for later that week. When I arrived, I asked them to install the unit and a backup camera. I can't recall how much time it took but it was done in a reasonable amount of time and I'm happy with their service. I called a few other shops around this time. A couple had other projects and couldn't get to me for a few months. A couple of others didn't want to touch the van because of its age, manufactured in 1989. Hot Tint was straight-forward. They said let them see what I have and they'll let me know if they could use what I had or needed something else. I appreciate that approach. I did have a couple of problems but they were responsive. While driving home, my radio rebooted twice. The cable came loose so they told me to return to the shop so that they could fix it. The second is my clock resets to 12:00 every time the vehicle is restarted. They told me to bring it by so that they can fix it but I haven't. I'm rarely on the screen to see the time and just had other priorities. I mention these items to show that they were responsive and willing to troubleshoot the problem. I rate them high also because there are many mechanics and technicians who can work on a classic vehicle but refuse to do so. There are a handful like Hot Tint that jumps right in and do the job. I'm finally ready to add an amp and subwoofer so I will be contacting them again soon.

I was happy to schedule tinting and a remote start installation. Unfortunately, my experience walking through the door this time was immediately negative. I understand I was 39 minutes late, but the front desk representative repeatedly emphasized how important their time was, without considering other factors like traffic. The constant badgering made the situation uncomfortable and unprofessional. Ultimately, I decided to leave because the interaction didn't feel respectful or customer-focused. This is not the best way to treat a returning client who has had positive experiences before.

A few things I'd have done differently a year later... they recommended doing a finish on my side steps that's similar to bedliner spray for durability, but it faded and is now gray instead of black. Also I'd have had them completely replace the door handles instead of wrap them. The wrap on door handles tends to degrade over time. They're fine now but I'm seeing the signs of wear and expect I'll have to replace the handles at some point. Kunza was probably the best priced compared to competitors and he did a really great job with my truck. The tint was amazing, and all of the paint details transformed my truck into what I always wanted.
