BBB response from 3B confirming they will be sending check in the mail

I would give my overall experience a -5/5 if I could... Where do I even begin? Back in May 2024, I was planning a big move from California to NYC. While searching for moving companies, I stumbled upon 3 Brothers Moving. At first, everything seemed perfect--the sales rep was smooth, answered all my questions, and confidently explained their refund policy. He assured me that if I canceled, I'd get my money back, no hassle, refunded via the same ACH payment method I used. But here's where the nightmare begins. After reviewing the companies they brokered my move to, something felt off--that gut feeling you can't shake. I immediately called to cancel, expecting a straightforward refund like they promised. They said, "No problem, your refund will be processed shortly." That was over 8 months ago. Since then, it's been a frustrating, endless cycle of me calling, emailing, and following up, only to be told the same excuses over and over: "It's strange, our system shows the refund was sent." But guess what? No refund. No money. Nothing. I finally filed a complaint with the BBB in November 2024. After weeks of back-and-forth messages on their website, they suddenly asked for my new address, claiming they'd mail me a check instead. That was months ago, and--surprise, surprise--still nothing in the mail. It's now February, and I'm beyond frustrated. My next step is to escalate this with the BBB again. And if this doesn't get resolved? I'll be taking them to court. This company has violated its own terms of service. I requested a refund well within the appropriate time frame, and they've failed to deliver on their promises. I'll gladly take this review down once I finally receive my refund, but until then: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE. STAY FAR AWAY.

"Be careful who you trust." This was part of a text that I received from a supervisor after I informed them as to why I didn't choose their services. They called my phone again after the two texts that the manager sent trying to convince me to use their services despite already signing a contract with another company. While the representative was still trying to convince me, I handed the phone off to my boyfriend and as soon as my boyfriend spoke, the representative hung up. We decided not to use their services after reading numerous reviews. While their initial quote was a good price, they have a reputation of scamming other customers out of their deposit, increasing prices after the agreed upon quote, and being brokers, not actual movers. Their selling point was only offering cheap prices that they could not even guarantee; I don't just care about getting a cheap price, but guaranteeing quality of service and professionalism. They are not accredited by the BBB. Even while I was typing this review, they called AGAIN from a different number asking if I needed a quote. I have attached screenshots of the text exchange. Their behavior is absolutely predatory and I strongly advise against using their services.

Watch out for this truck.

They sub out the work to predators. Most can't speak English and overstate your load and try to con you out of additional money beyond contract. This is by far the shadiest company I've dealt with to date. They are virtually unreachable by telephone or email. Never again. Bunch of opportunistic clowns.

Anthony's message!

SCAM!! Told Anthony I was no longer interested and thanked him for his time and this was his reply. So grateful I did not go with them. YIKES! "I wasn't going to help you anyway". "You weren't going to like my new price of 3,000 dollars today lol. I think you need to find a company that you can sue when you get charged an extra 75 dollars on pick up day or something. Or maybe you should choose a carrier and pay 4,000 dollars to have the same act thing done lol. Stop wasting people's time and money please with all of your concerns and questions if you can't really afford to move. Thank you. Have a blessed day"

The other reviews are spot on. Do not fall for the friendly disposition and "deals" they give you at the beginning. After receiving an estimate, I did further research on the company and am glad I did. When I let the representative, Anthony, know that we were going to go a different route and continue researching other companies, he became incredibly rude. His pal, Brendan, could also be heard in the background shouting about my decision. Moments after hanging up the phone, I received a text message that said "Thanks for wasting my time today" and then another that said "BEST OF LUCK." Yikes, what sharks.

Constant messages not one reply when there was an issue

Bait and Switch & Illegal Practices They are BROKERS and not the actual Moving company. We hired 3 Brothers Moving & Storage to transport TWO shipments; BOTH had different moving companies and they both did the same SCAM. 1) For the New York to Vegas move, we were charged for 700 cf. The actual was 300cf which we thought was the amount we had but they assured us it was 750 cf. but they gave us a "deal of 700" adding $2000 to our order. Upon unpacking in Las Vegas by the truck's packing lines in the van, it was clear we were exactly at 300 cf. 2) The same issue would have occurred from Vegas to New York, but there was no disputing the size. We were shipping exact-sized bins, which equaled exactly 236.36 cf. They insisted it was much larger than 300 cf and noted that the price we paid, even if it was 300 cf, was too low, and they wouldn't take it. We could not get in touch with 3 Brothers to remedy while the drivers were onsite. After providing all the evidence they did not admit any wrongdoing and would not provide a refund WITHOUT posting anything negative about our experience and not even a full refund. Legal Claims: 1. Breach of Contract: 3 Brothers breached the contract by failing to perform the agreed-upon transport services without lawful justification. 2. Fraudulent Misrepresentation/Bait and Switch: The demand for additional payment based on a false assertion of exceeding the agreed-upon cubic footage constitutes a fraudulent misrepresentation and a "bait and switch" tactic. 3. Overcharging: Overcharging is considered an unfair or deceptive trade practice and is regulated by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) 4. Violation of Consumer Review Fairness Act: Any attempt to condition a refund or settlement on a non-disclosure agreement or restriction of our right to provide honest reviews is a violation of the Consumer Review Fairness Act. Undisputable Evidence: 1. Photographs: An image of the bins clearly demonstrates that the shipment does not exceed 300 cubic feet, and photographs of the NY to Vegas shipment in the van with the cf markers clearly showing that ONLY 300 cf was used. 2. Communication Records: Screenshots of calls and text messages documenting our attempts to contact "3 Brothers." 3. Comparative Shipping Rates: Documentation of our FedEx shipping for the same shipment. Note: invoices are available 30 days after shipment. 4. Video Evidence: Video footage from our Nest camera system capturing the entire interaction, including the driver's statements, the supervisor's instructions, and our communication attempts. Also video footage of NY-Vegas uploading of all the equipment. 5. Email Evidence: Customer support from 3 Brothers requesting that if we get a refund that we are not supposed to post anything bad about our experience. I highly recommend if you were affected to also do the following: including filing complaints with the Federal Trade Commission, the Better Business Bureau, the State Attorney General's Office, local consumer protection agencies, Federal Trade Commission (FTC), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, and media outlets.

Threw everything in a box with no protection. And we paid extra for them to pack it.

My husband and I recently moved from Davenport, FL to Winter Garden, FL and had a fantastic…read moreexperience with In A Zip Moving Company. I created a project on Yelp and Genevieve from In A Zip reached out to me. Right away, I appreciated how upfront and honest they were with their pricing, and I loved that they are a family-owned and operated business. We scheduled our move about a month in advance, and they only required a very reasonable $100 deposit to secure our date. The day before our move, Genevieve called to confirm everything was set. She also let me know that the foreman would call the morning of the move to confirm their exact arrival time, which made the whole process feel very organized and stress-free. On moving day, I was introduced to our team: Richard (the foreman) and movers Aaron and Dylan. I showed them what needed to be moved, and from that point on, they took complete control in the best way possible. They worked efficiently and professionally, and it was clear they knew exactly what they were doing. We were initially quoted 5 1/2 hours, but the job was completed in just 4 1/2 hours. Even better, we were only charged for the actual time it took--not the original estimate. That level of honesty is so refreshing. Richard and his team took excellent care of all of our belongings. Everything was wrapped in moving blankets and secured with packing tape, and all items arrived at our new home in the same condition they left our old one. I truly cannot recommend In A Zip Moving Company enough. We also learned that they offer out-of-state moves, and with several of our family members planning moves from California to Florida, we will absolutely be referring them to In A Zip. If you're looking for a reliable, professional, and honest moving company--this is it.

Tried coordinating with an individual on the phone. I was told that they would give me a call by…read morethe same day but never received a call back. I never received what my quote would have been to even possibly use them as movers. They also asked me if I could move my day which I was willing to do however it was have to be during a specific time as I had a doctors appointment in the morning. I told them I didn't not want to waste their time if they couldn't tell me if I could have one of the two days we were discussing which is what prompted them to tell me they would call me back with a confirmation on what day. I'm sure they are great movers but might need some help with coordinating their calendars and follow ups.
