Another hole in the wall Mexican joint, what more can I say? This location is in the Kroger shopping center, off Whitlock, and sits on the end. It's easy to miss as it's not very visible from the street. I've been here for a few lunches and dinner (with drinks). The food is standard with your typical combo meals. The chips and salsa are good. Service is always fast here. Not the biggest fan of their tacos but who can complain when they load them up so much. They offer up trivia some nights as well. I'm sure you're wanting more out of this review but this is your average Joe Mexican. And that's not honestly a bad thing. Our family loves 3 Amigos! We love the cheese dip to accompany the complimentary chips and salsa. My husband is always changing up his order, he doesn't have just one favorite. My girls order quesadillas, hard shell beef tacos and nachos. I'm gluten free and order grilled chicken, sometimes with a side. The margaritas are delicious, always order the larger size - you'll thank me later. Ms Patricia and her staff always take great care of us and our requests. They GENEROUSLY give back a percentage of sales to support local Marietta City Schools, and a variety of organizations and clubs. The booths in the first/main dining area are spacious enough for our family of five. The bar area has smaller booths for two/four and tends to be a bit quieter, away from the main dining area. We often sit in the smaller dining area because it's perfect for a few families to dine together. Mailek was my server tonight and he was awesome! He made sure I had fresh chips and salsa because he wasn't sure I was going to stay to eat. What happened was, I wanted to chill and charge my phone. Luckily my booth had an outlet to charge my phone. So when I found out my ride would be delayed, I ordered 3 grilled shrimp tacos w. Cilantro, onions on corn tortillas and sour cream on the side. We came here for the first time after getting recommendations for Mexican in Marietta. We were not super impressed with the atmosphere. It didn't feel very clean, the booth we were seated at was broken on both sides and uncomfortable, and there was no music playing. I got a frozen marg and it was good, and we did like their specials. On Fridays it is buy 1 queso, get a free guacamole. The queso was good but we weren't super impressed with the guac until I added lime and salt myself. The service was very good, we did like our waiter who was very nice. Food wise- it's your typical Mexican food! I liked the pollo loco and that I could add peppers, and my fiance liked his burrito although it didn't seem like it was very full on the inside. read more

I went to 3 Amigos for a banquet on Sunday. We were in a large group that I recognize was likely tough to serve. However, our group gave advance notice and it seemed like the restaurant had a lot of staff!! It took over an hour to even place our food orders, and then another hour + to get said orders. There were multiple staff members just standing around during this, and several others hustling. I will say that when we got the food, it was PLENTIFUL. The food tasted alright. Not my favorite or least favorite Mexican spot in town. Prices were pretty affordable. I think it would probably be a better experience with a smaller group. read more

This place is a solid 3 stars imo. Food was pretty average. Prices were great. Service was good. A friend's big 40th bday celebration was conducted here. He graciously paid for the lot of us (15 folks or so). The food came out fairly quickly for the # of people so that was pretty impressive. But then again, Mexican food doesn't take super long to prepare though as their dishes were similar. I chose the #14 combo, and it came out on a sizable plate. It had a burrito, enchilada, and a chalupa. The chalupa had avocados, lettuce, and diced tomatoes. The chalupa's form was different than what I imagined; it looked like a tostada. This was by far the healthiest thing on my plate. The burrito and enchilada looked and tasted somewhat similar imo. Everything tasted average. Nothing was super wowing. The hubs choose the tender brisket flautas verdes; it came with two crispy flour tortillas. It was sooo good, but that's like most fried stuff. The cheese dip that topped this dish added to the saltiness of everything. This dish came with refried beans and Mexican rice so it balanced everything out. I would choose this dish over my combo #14. I also sampled some of the appetizer cheese dip, and it was rather watery. I guess I was expecting something thicker; it was okay imo. The complimentary salsa and chips were good. The chips were thin and super crunchy. They kept refilling it so that satisfied my munchies. Parking is pretty plentiful as 3 Amigos is at the furthest left-hand corner of the Kroger complex. So needless to say, parking was in abundance. I don't think anyone really checked on us after food was delivered, as well. But the food was good, I'll say that. I had a chille relleno, taco and burrito combo.. I think. It could've been an enchilada. I can never remember. The taco was my favorite part. Quite a bit of grease but it did hold together & tasted fabulous. The Chile relleno had so much cheese... I love cheese y'all. I didn't finish my food because there was so much but I tried so hard because it was amazing. There's so much sauce too so plenty for dipping your chips into as well as salsa. I like this place alot. From everything I saw, it was clean as well. It wasnt crowded at all. Lexi was our server and she was fantastic. She was very charming and extremely helpful; answering all questions. We ordered the Burrito Ranchero and the fajita nachos. Both were pretty good in size and taste pretty good so no issues with that. The chips and salsa were good too. Salsa didn't taste like it came out of a large can. Chips were warm and not stale. We also ordered a couple of Texas margaritas and a long island. All the drink were made very well. Could actually taste the alcohol in them unlike some places. read more

This place is haunted, y'all. I'm just telling you now because quite a few strange things happened while we were here that almost made me make a mad dash for the door ... not without my plate, of course. =) I had a Groupon. The Groupon was for a shared cheese dip w/the free nachos, two margaritas and 2 combination meals. For my combo meal, I ordered the hard taco, chalupa, and burrito. First strange happening: a gust of wind flows over my head, causing my hair to slightly blow- but it was so LOUD. For a second, I thought a bat or some bird had swooped over me. My dining partner ignored it, but when she saw how big my eyes were, she asked, "What WAS that?" The waitress smiled and said, "It may be a crack over there by ya or something." So, she heard it, too. No... it was just a wall. No cracks included. Creeeeepy. She brings our margaritas out, and upon first sip, I was buck-eyed again. No strangeness again... yet, but the margaritas, believe it or not, are strong as heck. I wanted to taste some peach in there, too, not just alcohol. It was all good, though. I had no real complaints with that, but now why are the lights flickering on and off all of a sudden? Oh, and let me tell you, whenever I would point to those flickering lights and tell my dining buddy to look behind her, they would STAY ON, so she could never quite catch them flickering on and off. Honestly, we did not make a big deal out of it, since she's relocating back to Atlanta, and we were all excited about the move and talking about it. When it came time for the waitress to take my Groupon, the Wi-Fi connection was so slow, that even though I had it pulled up, it began re-loading and would not come up again. Let me tell you, the waitress and the owner stood at our table for so long while I worked on bringing that Groupon up, that my food became ice cold. They would not leave the damned table! Owner and Waitress, get the Groupon first and let the customers eat! I didn't realize how long they had been standing there until I took another bite and was eating icy cold Mexican food. No bueno! The food? Oh, yeah. The soft taco was ok. It was not the most flavorful, but it was good enough. The chalupa was good, and it was probably the best thing, since it had sauce and cheese on top, which gave it a bit more flavor than the taco and the burrito.... Ugh. That burrito was not good. :( The refried beans were like flavorless mush. There was just nothing good about that burrito except for the lettuce. :/ As I mentioned before, the margarita was good, just a bit strong, so I couldn't taste the peach flavor. As we stood up to leave, the entire dining room's lights began flickering on and off in the most obnoxious way, as though someone was doing it. Another waitress yelled, "Stop turning the lights on and off!" She looked around the corner and looked back at us with a puzzled look before saying, "I don't know what that is... Is somebody flicking on the lights?!" We didn't stand around for an answer. I dipped on outta there. To top it all off, we make it outside and it's around 55 degrees in the middle of August. Came here for my husband's birthday party on Tuesday. The service was spot on. Michelle was our server, and she is the daughter of the owners. Extremely nice, and she was very efficient. Had a big smile, and a bigger personality....LOVE that :) They made my guacamole and salsa to order...NO onions, and we loved these apps. So fresh and flavorful. We started with a pitcher of frozen Margarita's, and a friend asked if they made "Skinny Margaritas." I, of course had to ask what that was. They are the real deal just like the inventor of the Margarita made them. Freshly squeezed lime juice, tequila, and triple sec. Garnished with a lime, and an orange wedge. Muy delicioso!!! Our entrees were so good, so fresh, and so much to eat. They consisted of Oscar's Delight, Shrimp Diablo (hot and spicey), Tequila tilapia and shrimp, Tacos al Carbon, and Texas fajita nachos. The food was beautifully presented on the plates....your eyes eat, as well a your stomach :) Everyone loved their meals because of the freshness, spices, taste and presentation. We love this place and go there frequently! It's the perfect neighborhood spot middle of the week or the weekend. Whether you get it to go or eat there the quality is consistent and delicious. The cheese dip is fantastic, the tacos are the best around. And Vicki's skinny margaritas can't be beat. They do great catering too and did my twin nieces' 13th birthday party and everyone Loved the taco bar so much they ended up asking for information about the restaurant so they could return. 3 Amigos is a fairly typical Mexican restaurant out in the 'burbs. I was invited to a surprise birthday lunch for a coworker this week, and 3 Amigos was the destination of choice. We were seated in a semi-private area to accommodate the crowd (we had 20ish people in the party). Once we sat, a kind and efficient sever came to take our drink orders. Chips and salsa came out quickly as well. The salsa was a bit fresher tasting than most. Apparently the buffet is the way to go. It's quite economical ($5.99) for a soft drink and AYCE buffet. I perused the offerings and decided to go for it. Each day on the buffet, there's a specialty item, which is a nice touch. Lots of salad-y items, grilled veggies, meat, enchiladas, taco fixings, small cheese quesadillas, rice, beans...and some dessert items. One was something like a pig in a blanket, with banana pudding instead of pig. Count me in! A friend ordered from the menu and her food came out impressively fast! There's too much competition for this to be so mediocre. I ordered the Carnitas dinner and that was a B+, pretty good all in all. But had to ask for tortillas. Charro beans were fine. Husband got the Tacos al Carbon and they served what looked like shriveled, dark brown (fill in the blank, you know what I mean) small scraps of steak sitting all alone on three soft flour tortillas. Some lettuce, cheese and salsa/sour cream in bowls on the side. The little "doodies" loooked so lonely and cold and sad. He ate it, but it wasn't very good. We asked for hotter salsa and they brought some more flavorful and saltier salsa, but it wasn't hot. What's up with that? When you ask for hot in a Thai place, you get HOT. Yes, we are gringos, but we like hot food so bring it on. We finally got some "colorado" sauce which we put on everything to jazz it up. Margarita was pretty good. We will probably keep looking for better Mexican than this place. I'm pretty sure we saw the "mama" owner 'cause she came out and checked the register tape to see what the revenue was for the day (we were there about 8:30 PM). But she didn't walk through to ask how the meal was nor did she interact with anyone. The buffet here is ok. I would recommend the one at El Nopal over this one, but if you don't have much time at lunch and need something close, this place isn't terrible. I came later after the main lunch rush and the food was all sort of cold. So be sure to come closer to 12-1. They don't have any soft taco shells on this buffet, only hard shells. You can ask for queso from the kitchen, because they don't keep it on the buffet. The food was a little greasy, which I expected at most American Mexican restaurants. It's not like this when I actually eat in Mexico, though. The salsa here is very bland, no flavor or spice whatsoever. The service is good, so that's a bright spot. Upon walking into the place my husband, friend, and I were impressed by the cultural art of the walls. The lighting is a bit dark, but it does compliment the atmosphere of the artistic expression that they are going for reflecting the country. There is a lovely fireplace and homey decor that is eye-catching and interesting to look at. Bridgette was our waitress and though she had some things asked of her she wasn't sure of off the top of her head, she was very attentive and overall a pleasant server with a great sense of humor. My husband loves being able to get cheese on his enchiladas but in the past, restaurants would either likely or just not put cheese on top as he likes it so he quit asking. He was very happy to find a handsome amount of cheese on his enchiladas and even more thrilled at their delicious flavor! I tried the shrimp, chicken, and beef combo fajita plate (about $13 or so) and I must say they are very different from most other restaurants! The exquisite taste was so memorable and wonderful to me! And the shrimp are not tiny, either! I would surely recommend this dish with a mango daiquiri! If anyone were to come to me asking for a great place for Mexican for a nice quiet date or to even kick back with friends and watch the game, this would be it!
