I was not fully aware that Esporta Fitness was LA Fitness. And if yall know me, I've been touring…read moreand trying all the LA Fitnesses throughout the Chicagoland area, and even Phoenix! For those uninitiated, like me, in 2020 Esporta Fitness launched, under the LA Fitness umbrella in an attempt to compete with other high-volume, low-cost membership gyms, such as Planet Fitness.
Anyways, after a gorge-fest, I decided to go get a workout in. Saw Esporta on GoogleMaps and since I have a LA Fitness membership, decided to give this place a try. Right off the bat, they try to amp you up by pumping music right out there front doors, given a vibe of that this was a place to have fun, but to get your sweat on. Badge-in at the front desk, and the locker rooms are to your left, down the hall.
This LA Fitn.... I mean, Esporta Fitness, has a section of turf to do your mobility and sled runs, a good amount of cardio, and a decent amount of dumbbells. They have three free weight bench presses, and generally speaking, I judge a gym on their squat racks. This place definitely is for real, as they have the rogue deadlift/squat platform and racks, with the color-coded bumper plates. This place is legit. With all these extra bells and whistles, the number of machines is less than the other LA Fitness locations I've been to. They also have a more limited cross trainer machines, and in terms of their hammer strength machines, they were somewhat limited too. They do have some Hoist machines which was nice to find.
There's also a spin class room, a fitness class room, and a couple of heavy bags, to get your Mike Tyson on. A decent gym, and if I'm ever near Lombard again, I will come back.
BATHROOM REVIEW: Reviewing the mens locker room, the locker room was pretty updated, with dark gray wood grained lockers, and overall clean. They have three urinals and a couple of stalls, and also a sauna room and hot tub area. Sit or squat? Squat. Always squat at a gym locker room bro.
