I have been having back pain for quite some time now. I had tried Iyengar yoga back in Cleveland…read moremany years ago and I remember feeling really good with that style. So when the back pain started I thought let me look for something similar here. I tried a few different studios with different styles but honestly was not satisfied as nobody was giving any corrections or telling us which muscles to engage, and I felt like I was just going through the motions. Then I found Garden of Yoga and started attending classes with Kathleen and Kristen. Both are Iyengar certified and from the very first class itself I felt the difference. No matter how many students are there, both of them will come around, watch your pose carefully, and give individual corrections. They also use props properly to make sure you are doing the pose correctly and not putting stress in the wrong places. The classes are 1.5 hours which gives enough time to actually work on things properly. What also surprised me is how affordable it is compared to other places where I was paying more for just one hour and getting much less. You can genuinely feel that they are doing this to give back to the community, not just for the money. I equally enjoy both Kathleen's and Kristen's classes and I am hoping to continue regularly and slowly become more flexible and stronger. Very grateful to have found this place.

Teachers here are not doing the postures except for example; rather, when students are in the asanas, teachers are roaming the class, making minor adjustments to student's positioning. They are not working out themselves while students follow along. This is an excellent yoga situation and we are fortunate to have it in our western suburbs.

I just found out 2 weeks ago I am pregnant, I am physically ill when I tried doing classes and decided it would be best to cancel my membership, I spoke to customer support which told me due to their policy I would still be charged for the next month since I did not cancel on time. I am physically not able to power through a class and was not offered a resolution, account credit does not work since I won't be able to come in any time soon and who knows after pregnancy if I will have time the first year. No compassion for human life. I'll make sure to highly discourage friends and family to obtain a membership at a place that will not care for their students, and look elsewhere for a yoga membership. This interaction felt like a total scam and at this point I am coming to terms that I just gave Core power 150 dollars just for the fun of it since I am not able to come in for the classes any more.

Its located on the 2nd floor of the building at the corner of Lagrange Rd and Burlington Ave, right next to the Metra. Parking is available for students only behind the building off Burlington. There are two rooms- one for really hot stuff, and the other for warm yoga. Each room has a cool view out onto downtown LaGrange. The rooms are really large and never feel crowded. Teachers are the same as all other locations, so the yoga itself is always uniform (and fun). The guys locker room is good sized- at least I never feel like I'm tripping over people, and they are nicely stocked with grooming stuff. Overall another awesome CorePower location. I received assessment and "treatment" here for months. I'll address both…read more The assessment of my "nerve health" said I was actually in great shape. After feeling no improvement and turning to medical testing, I have since been diagnosed with nerve myotonia -- I literally have an incurable disease of the nervous system. Measurable nerve hyperexcitability. This was not even suspected in TWP's nerve assessment. As far as treatment, I'd recommend you do your homework on the use of an integrator before you behgin treatment here. they do not employ manual manipulation, none. Perhaps a dozen visits, the only thing touched by hand was my shoes, which I was instructed not to remove. They're also very stringent on multiple visits per week, which would've been fine had I felt any changes. I was told if I couldn't make up the number of visits per week because I could only make it two days a week because of work and childcare, I would have to be treated 3 days a week for more weeks if not months longer. The PT is unsupervised and uncoached. I did an excercise entirely wrong one day to see if anyone noticed. No one did. You monitor yourself. Really felt exploited in the end :(

I decided to add Chiropractic care regularly into my life after a friend (Kristin) suggested that I go in for an initial assessment because of neck and back issues as well as an overall sense of stress, fatigue and low energy. Dr. Vic adjusts my spine using a gentler technique, teaches (based on experience and research) and motivates me to continue the path. Each visit reminds me to keep seeking wellness and health. I am less stressed over all. I am more motivated and focused. I do not doubt that if I put into action his other recommendations I would experience even more wellness. Old habits and behaviors can be changed, and mine are slowly transforming by continuing to stay the course with Dr. Vic and to not give up if I don't do it perfectly. My old habits included not paying attention to what my body needed (such as rest, adjustments, healthier food). I am encouraged by Dr. Vic and Veronica to be more attentive to self-care, to prioritize my health. Because of regular chiropractic care and encouragement, my daily behaviors are shifting (slowly, but shifting) to include better choices in food and self-care, which in turn enhance my chiropractic care. I love that we review my progress over time and discuss the changes occurring. I also like that Dr. Vic and Veronica research, read, write and live out what they teach and offer. I love watching them interact with young families and older clients too. I've had many massages over the years and each time, I've been left with a 'ah, that was nice' kind of feeling, but never a 'WHOA I'M A NEW WOMAN' feeling...until this massage. I had been struggling with some issues in my upper body that started to affect my sleep so I decided to go in and Clare spent a lot of time working through these issues. I left feeling more relaxed and when I woke up this morning, I realize that I haven't had that restful of a sleep in months. I can't wait for my next session with Clare and to explore her other massage specialties!
