i was pleasantly surprised by the amount of good finds at this store!! i came in while exploring the 2nd street area, and i left with 5 items already lol - skirts, tops, and a thick calvin klein wool coat. if you look thoroughly, you can find items that are definitely decently priced and good quality. they have a really good variety and are separated in categories by style - y2k, streetwear, vintage, etc. this categorization made it so easy to shop so it's not too overstimulating, and they have a great selection in general. another great thing about this place is their fittings rooms - the lighting is nice and bright (which is such a big factor in me buying the item or not), and their mirrors are big and don't distort me at all, so i can actually get a feel of what the item would look like on me irl. the staff are chill and friendly. read more

This place is really expensive. Way more of a consignment store than a thrift. Cool to browse for an hour but couldn't find anything I wanted. It's decently big. Caters more to mens/streetwear. Really limited women's section. There is a fitting room. Most items are priced at probably 5x the going rate. They have some overpriced third tier designer stuff that is fun to look at. If you're looking for a great selection of vintage clothes in Belmont Shores, this is the place to go. What they offer is a vast selection of clothing. They offer men's, women's, and children clothing via a very interesting and vast selection. This store is very well organized. Things are put in appropriate categories, and everything is easy to find. One of the main things I love about this shop is the collection of shoes that they offer for sale. They sell some really great and truly unique shoes. On my recent visits to the shop, what I really enjoyed is they offer a lot of (for lack of a better term) psychedelic tennis shoes. Really interesting high colored items. The shoes they sell all come from very good brands, and are really unique items to own. A lot of fun! In terms of pricing, it's very fair. One of the main reasons that it's fair is because what you're getting here is the best of the best of vintage. It's not like going into a thrift shop where maybe we'll find something and maybe you won't. And, a lot of what they offer is not very high-quality. When you come into 2nd Street, however, you're assured of finding really good, very high-quality items. It's the former Gap spot on the fame second street in the heart of Belmont shores. It's a smaller store compared to some of the other sister's location. But they do have a good selection of clothing and shoes. The accessories, sunglasses, wallets, handbags are nice. Not a big selection on the higher tickets items but they do have a good selection. Isles are quite nice and big so there's room for people without bumping into one another. It's also very neat and organized which is a major plus. That helps with the shopping and finding where things are located. Some items are priced very well while some, you look at and wonder how could it be this much. There's security right at the front door. Overall, it's a pretty nice store. Not overly big but do carry a wide selection of items. Plus, they buy items as well. read more

Went with my girl the other day and I had an interaction w a dude who was a manager. Genuinely was terrible. So mean and so rude. I hate having to call people out like this he was so not cool. 2nd Street Long Beach is a consignment store that buys and sells used clothing, shoes, and accessories. The store is small but organized and has a good layout to browse. Most of the accessories and shoes were in poor condition compared to the price. There were some vintage designer bags on the wall which were in good condition and priced well. The clothing selection was great and very reasonably priced. I visited this location and tried to sell three designer handbags, the price they quoted me was laughable give the condition of my items. I ended up selling the items on Facebook for 3x their buyout amount. It also took almost 1 hour for them to provide a quote, which I thought was ridiculous give the store was not busy. read more

I took my Lanvin sneakers to 2nd STREET Long Beach along with two other pairs of shoes, two Purple/Ksubi shirts, and four pairs of designer pants. I was honestly shocked by the offer I received. My Lanvins retailed for $1,150, were only worn once, and were in excellent condition, yet I was offered only $60 for them. For EVERYTHING together, I was offered just $86. That means aside from the $60 for the Lanvins, they were basically offering $26 for all of the other designer clothing and shoes combined. I understand that resale stores need to make a profit and aren't going to pay retail value, but this offer felt extremely unreasonable considering the brands, condition, and value of the items I brought in. I definitely wouldn't recommend bringing higher-end designer items here if you're expecting a fair return. You're probably much better off selling your items yourself rather than accepting such a low offer. read more

Y'all. This store is consistently carrying clothes in poor condition, that are poor quality or incredibly out of style. It's evident that they aren't even able to sell the clothes that they currently have in stock because I see the same stuff there over months. I'm not even sure why I keep going back considering their selection for anyone size 10 and up is nearly zero. I brought in 3 big bud press items, 2 fashion brand company items, 3 pairs of shoes and a couple shorts and skirts. They took 7 items and were going to pay me $33. I took my clothes back. The most frustrating thing about all of this is that there is currently a cou cou baby tee being sold there for $49 and the retail price is $53. They are charging an egregious amount for clothes and paying sellers literally $3 a piece for $190 clothing. Also, be ready to wait 2 hours for your clothes to be looked at. read more

Happy Earth Day! I had an amazing time shopping here this weekend. This was my first time checking out a 2nd Street shop and I really liked it. ***LOCATION*** As the name suggests, this is on 2nd Street (and Granada Ave). It's near a lot of other popular local bizs in town. ***EXPERIENCE*** We spent about an hour looking at everything in this thrift store. There is a huge selection! You can find everything from clothes to shoes and accessories. I tried on 10 different things and went home with three gorgeous items. I love thrifting in cities I'm not normally in because you find some unique pieces. I got a dreamy dress and two unique tops. This shop seems fairly divided for Men and Women clothing. My two friends went home with some things too. There is a fitting room and they only allow five items at a time. The people who helped me at the fitting room were nice. ***PRICE*** Things range from $7 to $600+ here. The cheapest things I found were $7. They offer a lot of designer goods so that's why some things are really pricey. Things are priced with imperfections in mind. Most of the things I was considering to take home weren't name brand and ranged from $20-35. ***CONCLUSION*** I highly recommend checking out this thrift store. If you're looking for vintage designer goods this is a good place to start. They also have a wonderful selection of normal used clothes. read more

To be fair, I never sold any of my shoes to store that sells your items like Plato's closet and like this one. But I came in to try and sell my 3 pairs of nike dunks in a fair condition. You will not believe what they appraised me for ONE shoe. A whopping $4. Not $10 or anything... 4 whole dollars. Honestly that was humiliating and embarrassing at that point just don't even offer. Really disappointing customer service. I waited in line for the fitting room for five minutes before anyone even acknowledged me. Staff were unprofessional and rushed -- constantly reminding customers how many minutes were left like we were being timed (not to bring up race, i just don't have anyones names. it was the black security guard & small asian woman employee) While I was getting dressed to leave the fitting room, the security guard actually started yelling at me, insisting he had told me how much time I had left -- as if that excused the behavior. They had a pair of my Lanvins and a Gucci belt and said I didn't come in with it. They had to pull the cameras to figure out their mistake. If I didn't remember my Gucci belt, they would have kept my items without giving me compensation for them. Talking about it was a mixup. My husband and I went to sell his shoes. Out of 40 pairs of shoes they took one. They claimed my husband's Nike sneakers didn't "match their aesthetic." Sure. What I found to be most interesting was that as we walked out of the store, two people who were walking into the store to shop stopped us. The staff didn't seem knowledgeable about the value of certain items, and I was surprised to learn they don't accept Gucci--seems unusual for a resale shop. The employee I interacted with, Lily N, was not helpful or welcoming, and the overall interaction felt cold and impersonal. Just my luck, I randomly walked in like "I see something I like in the glass case" to my surprise a new Louis Vuitton NoeNeo BB was staring me right in my face like "come get me" and it was in amazing shape for half the price of the retail price. It's selling right now on LouisVuitton.com for $1,900 & tax. I got it for $991 with tax. What a deal! This bag isn't old, it's the newer version. It came with a certificate of authenticity from a well known authentication service. The customer service was fair because it was the end of the night and I could only imagine dealing with so many people which is overwhelming. So yeah the 2 ladies at the front assisted me Angel and another lady. They were happy. The only thing is all sales final unless it's really something they can fold on. I'll be keeping it tho. As an avid fashionista plagued by guilt because of the wastefulness of the fashion world, I pretty much only buy second hand, primarily via Poshmark. I've sold and bought ar Buffalo exchange, Plato's closet, uptown cheapskate, seen it all and feel very comfortable selling clothes. I've now sold at 2nd street and purchased their clothes, and here are my findings. The process at 2nd street is the simplest Ive encountered. No store credit differential to your cash, what they're giving you is what you're getting which I appreciate. I can't always find things even when I am selling and don't want to be penalized for that by having to take less in cash. Now. I have never been so blown away by the vast selection and deeply reasonable prices here. I don't expect to be paid a lot for what I bring in, and am always happy with what they take and what I am paid in exchange. The price makes sense when you take into account the cost of all the items on the floor. Additionally, this store has the best second hand inventory of mid size women's clothes (1x, 14, 16...) I have seen in my life, and it's not frumpy old lady clothes. If you have some super glamorous designer item you think is worth a lot of money, you're better off trying your luck selling it independently. If you are looking to swap out your wardrobe in a more ethical and sustainable way, however, this might be exactly the place you are looking for. One note, I was quoted 45-60 minutes waiting time to sell. Iñ actuality it was closer to 90, but they took all but one or my pieces and were a pleasure to chat with while they processed the sale. read more
