I jokingly mentioned that they should offer a curry flight so I could sample several but I would have ordered it if they offered it. We ordered chicken samosas, chicken xacuti, and shrimp korma. We thought all of the food was delicious . My only issue is that they charged $3 for a can of coke. I thought that was a bit high for no refill. We would definitely go back! read more

The flavor of the food was incredible but not overwhelming in anyway! The chicken Marsala was perfect, I'll definitely come back for that dish specifically! We went in a Wednesday evening, which is "dosa night". This includes a buffet along with Dosas brought to your table by your server. The buffet food was all very good and the owner helped walk us through the different options. After having two rounds at the buffet, we ordered some Dosas from the server. I got the noodle dosa which was spicy noodles in a thin bread-like wrap. It was super tasty! Overall, the staff was super welcoming and helpful, and the food was delicious. Wish this place is closer to Charlotte !! Tried their food at one event catered by them and loved it. Today had a visit planned to Columbia and made a stop here. Very rarely you get these many choices and with authentic taste. We ordered twice the food we could eat so that we can bring back. Must try - garlic palak cheese. This is their unique twist to palak paneer but some better. Hint of saag with paalak and touch of garlic. The cheese cubes blend better than paneer. Another flavorful dish - paneer bhurji. The chef came out and answered our questions about the food, like the differences in the vegetarian section and the meat section, besides the meat. The only downside is that I didn't know what all the different food types were and it forces you to be a little wasteful if you get something on your plate you don't like. I went back and forth between five stars and four stars not because of the food, but because of the service. I'm going to chalk it up to an off night because the food was superb and the restaurant deserves the five star review based on that alone. My husband and I decided to go here for our wedding anniversary. I have never eaten at an Indian restaurant, but I frequently cook Indian cuisine at home. I order the Chicken Kadai and my husband ordered the Goat Vindaloo. Both were absolutely excellent. The meat was tender and melted in your mouth, and the sauces were excellently seasoned. The garlic naan bread was a wonderful additional to the meal and helped elevate the flavors of the dishes. Our server seemed a little lost, and it took a lot longer than necessary to get our check. Another member of the wait staff ended up getting our boxes for us and he cleared our plates, and the waitress didn't pick up that we were ready to go until I was at the cash register asking for our check. There were a few times I tried to flag her down and she just scooted past us. The rest of the staff was on point, so again I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to an off night. My family and I stopped by 2Gingers after having a fantastic day at Riverbank Zoo. Everything started off fine. We were quickly greeted and seated. Our waiter brought us a pitcher of water and eventually took our orders. There were a few mishaps with the things that we ordered. My mother's meal was left off although she was the first one to order and our garlic naan. As far as taste, my father ordered I believe the Chicken Tikka Masala and he sent it back because it was not spicy at all. After receiving it back, the dish tasted the same. The other meals were okay. The Garlic naan was really good. The biggest issue came when we were trying to box up our leftover food. We didn't see our waiter so we asked another waiter if she could grab us to-go plates. She did but she gave us cup lids for our to-go bowls. We told her that the lids she gave us do not fit and asked if she could bring us the right lids. We were told that we could grab them at the front on our way out. My siblings and I came here looking for a good, auntie-style Indian place. This place smelt INCREDIBLE as soon as we walked in. We were seated quickly, given drinks fast and recommended specials. I got the Chicken Korma, my sister the Butter Chicken and my brother ordered the 2Gingers curry with chicken. Our food arrived within 20-25 minutes, pipping hot and aromatic. We also orders garlic naan and cheese naan, which I had never seen at an Indian place! The food was incredible, perfectly spiced and then chicken was so tender it melted in your mouth!!! As we ate, we saw chefs walk in and out of the kitchen, checking on customers as well to be sure their food was good. The customer service was wonderful and the food matched on par. This is my FAVORITE Indian restaurant (dare I say restaurant in general?) in Columbia, but the past few times I've gotten take out here, I've had to wait 30+ minutes past when they said my order would be ready. I understand that there are limitations with covid and places are more short staffed than usual, but I do hope that the owners take this into consideration and try to provide more accurate estimates for take out orders so people can wait at home instead of in their cars. Everytime I go on the road I try and hit up some Indian food when I get the cravings. Typically I go to any Indian restaurant in America I usually end up leaving rolling from how much food I get. This place was the stingiest restaurant ever. I ordered the chicken Tikka Masala and it was just tomato soup with like 3 tiny pieces of chicken in it and still was a $20 plate. Yesterday we went for lunch and came back for dinner -- once you've tried 2 Gingers, it can be hard to want to go anywhere else. The lunch buffet has become our Wednesday tradition. Even though we always leave full and happy from a lunch served to satiate with spice, a person does technically need to eat at least two meals every day. Their food was all we thought about all day, so dinner plans were easily set. Have you seen pictures of their Dosas? They're enough for a meal on their own, but make a delightful appetizer for parties of 2 (or more. Let's be honest -- it's still a lot of food as an appetizer or for two people. We all have our weaknesses!). Because I love all of their vegetarian options, I usually stick to that side of the menu. The saag is exceptional, and the Navratan Korma, a sauce made of cashews and spices, is sinfully good. Almost every time I opt for a paneer dish, because there is nowhere else in the city with paneer this good (the texture and the flavor can't be beat). My wife is adventurous and likes to order something new every time, but now even she struggles with picking something new over the dishes she's tried and loved. We also got dessert to go -- Gajar Halwa is a pudding-like dish made with carrots, sugar, milk, and clarified butter. Here's hoping it will last the night (it won't!). It was also a serendipitous happenstance that staff plugged in several standalone air conditioning units while we were there. The kitchens in Indian restaurants get exceptionally warm, and I appreciate that the owner took the comfort of his patrons in mind. My meal took about 10 minutes which was fine with me and upon arrival I could smell the spices heading to my table. The rice was fluffy and light and the chicken cut up nicely into small bite size pieces with the sauce medium heat My hostess was polite and very much looking out for my needs A great experience overall with a bill not really over priced at all. $12.99 + drinks was still less than 30 bucks for 1 person. I had no idea what to expect when I ordered the rava dosa but was pleasantly surprised it was nothing like I envisioned. It does have some heat to it but the accompaniments helped mellow it out. The flavors worked together beautifully in this unique dish. They presented several vegan options and offered to prepare items without butter if needed. So they were very accommodating. Everything looked clean and I liked the linen napkins. The only two suggestions I have for improvement is that I would've liked to have seen glassware (instead of plastic) and the booth cushion had a tear in it. If this review was based only on food, I would give it a 4.5-5. I have ordered from them 3-4 times with great results, food was hot, proper spice level, and good portion size (not stingy with meat at all). Service is 0. If you have to dine in, just don't. If you have no option and have to, seriously lower your expectation and buckle in for probably the worst service of your life. I have dined in twice. After the second time, I confirmed the terrible service is not a fluke, but how they regularly run their business. The "waiter" takes your order, but he also works the front, has an ear piece in, and is in a perpetually bad mood (probably from being overwhelmed from lack of staff). From my first experience with them, I knew that the service is trash but the food is usually worth it. The first time I dined in, it took a while for them to even take the order and then forever for the food to arrive. I believe they served the appetizer with the main course. The second time I dined in, I was with 2 friends. They aren't familiar with Indian food so I suggested the samosas (which I've had from 2Gingers before). We asked the waiter the portion size, he told us 1 portion has 2 samosas. There was also a picture on the menu. Great, we put in our order for 2, expecting to get 4 samosas in total. The order comes and it is 8 mini, "samosas" per order. We inquire about this being different from the picture and his own description. He said they used to make the previous order of 2 regular sized samosas, but now they switched for some reason. Fair enough. That might have been the end of the story, however, after we were served, the table next to us got served REAL samosas. They had the OG 2 regular sized samosas. The table next to us were an Indian family. I am Indian, but my 2 friends, are Black women, which I don't think is a coincidence. I have eaten and seen hundreds, if not thousands, of samosas in my lifetime. I know what a samosa is. We once again asked the waiter, what the deal was with the samosas and why we got the boot leg, mini, hard, crunchy, tiny, most likely frozen ones with sparse filling. His response was to say fine I'll remove 1 order from the bill, but only 1. At that point, I confront him with the fact that he made it seem like the original samosas were no longer available, however, we just saw a family get served! He got visibly frustrated and said "fine, I'll remove both orders from the tab then, okay?!". No offer of getting what we originally ordered, just shutting us down as he clearly did not expect us to know/notice what a real samosa is. TLDR: this place is fine for delivery or pick-up but avoid eating in at all costs if you can. read more

Another fabulous lunch buffet at 2Gingers Indian! Everything here is hot & fresh. The vegetable pakora is excellent and we were taught by the hospitable Ranjeev to eat pakora with the mint sauce. Ranjeev makes you feel like you eating in his dining room at home. He explains food pairongs and offers superb suggestions...he's wonderful! Saturday and Sunday are best for the full lunch buffet which include the most delicious varieties from all over India.
