A little mint in my spring fresh rolls was what I missed in my Asian tour of top cuisine. I've had some over the top delicious spring rolls and they all came with this most flavorful and aromatic herb that makes or breaks the experience. Unfortunately, the 5th star missing from this review is because so was the mint. I like Thai and Vietnamese food, so although I was in the mood for Italian, I thought I'd give this place a try. There was a mix of standard favorites on the menu as well as a few unfamiliar dishes. I chose to go with my standby favorite, as well as something new. (I was hungry). Of note they have 4 levels of heat : Regular (which is no heat), mild, medium, and hot. Laab (a delicious salad made with seasoned ground chicken, spices, lime juice and touch of fish sauce, usually served over lettuce and other salad veggies). This is one of my all-time favorite Thai dishes. I like spicy food so I ordered mine medium heat. The verdict? This is the WORST LAAB I've ever had. It had no heat and almost no flavor. It was missing that unique spicy tang that gives Laab that wonderful umame satisfaction. The dressing was watered down and tasted more like weak lime juice and fish sauce. And the so called ground chicken looks more like those fake soy crumbles, not like minced up pieces of real chicken. Cholon Beef: this was a new dish for me and it is good... BUT I'm a stickler for truth in advertising. This was supposed to be beef sautéed with bamboo shoots, mushrooms and snow peas. What I got was beef sautéed with bamboo shoots, mushrooms, and green beans. (Totally different legume). While the fresh green beans do taste good and fit well into the dish they are not snow peas. Also, I ordered this one as medium heat as well and it has none. The Cholon was good but I'm not sure if I'll be back. I was the only customer in the place I would think they would try to make my order perfect with the level of heat I asked for. read more

I really really wanted to like this place, but oh my goodness.... worst Asian food I have ever had. I ordered spring rolls and all the vegetables inside were pickled, which made for an acquired taste. Their peanut sauce as well was sour. I had ordered ginger chicken and was extremely disappointed. Pieces of boiled chicken cut up, served with soggy veggies and a once again sour ginger sauce which was just shreds of ginger. I tried this place many years ago, and I thought it was just okay. It was very surreal, I swear some dude took my order, gave it to the kitchen, and then left. We got our food, but couldn't find anyone to pay. I wasn't upset, it was just very bizarre. Anyway now that Covid has caused me to do a lot more takeout, I figured I'd give them another shot. Well my wife loves, the veggie lo Mein. I really dig their spring rolls. I've tried something different each time, and so far I love the Mi- XAO with Vegetables. Their curry dishes are pretty tasty, but some of the other dishes were just alright, the peanut chicken was a bit on the soupy side, but had a good taste. I'm a fan of their soups, especially liked the Tom Kha Kai. The wonton was alright, a bit of an odd taste. All I can say is that I'll be getting food from them again. read more

Absolutely Superb - Every time. We order out every Saturday night and the food is always amazing! Before Kids, we would eat there once a week. This family is amazing. They are super friendly and remember you each time you go. All of their food is just filled with flavor and can be ordered mild to super spicy. My favorites: Imperial Rolls (super fresh!) , Tom Kha Kai soup (best coconut based soup ever!), Pad Thai with fried tofu (order it a 3 stars if you want your head to sweat just a bit!) and Vietnamese Buns are out of this world! When we first walked in I questioned our decision because there was not another soul in the place at 645 on a Friday night and the decor was not impressive. We were seated immediately by the kindest of servers (seemed to be family) and we were treated so well. We ordered House spring rolls and dumplings to start and they were good , not great but good. Then I had the pad Thai mao w spicy noodles and the wife ordered beef pho. My dish was hot, fresh and spicy. The noodles were the best I have had. My wife tasted her Pho and I have never seen her smile like that. It was the reason we tried the restaurant and she was not disappointed. A larger family came in after us And they seem like they have been many times. The owner called them by name and I even thanked her for some soup she had made them. I had the Vietnamese Buns with chicken with 5 stars of heat and Vietnamese egg rolls and I received my complimentary salad. Everything was delicious and the take out that I brought to my wife really made her happy. This is just a great place with good food and nice people, you must try it if you're in the area. read more

I had my first visit to this place today. I am a huge Thai food fan and this is a combo Vietnamese and Thai restaurant. It has the typical cheesy Asian decor you see at a lot of places. I needed to do takeout today and since this was my first time here I was not sure what to get. My favorite is yellow curry, but there was no "yellow curry" listed on the menu. I asked and the gentleman taking my order and he recommended a curry that he enjoys that is close to yellow curry. After I placed my order and started waiting he followed up with the chef to make sure the curry I was getting was a traditional yellow curry. He came back to check with me to see if what i ordered was what I wanted, and he found out that they had a different curry that was closer to what I like. He changed my order in the kitchen and I really appreciated the effort he took to make sure I was happy. The curry was not as thick as I usually expect but it was good and the portion size was great for price. I wish the Thai tea was a little bigger, it was probably a 12 oz cup and I am used to a 16 oz but it was still delicious. I plan to try this restaurant again; maybe this time I will sit down to eat. I ordered Pho ( beef noodle soup), but it has no flavor and too salty, like just adding water and salt. Where are those nice flavor of clove, anise, and cilantro, basil for the regular Pho noodle in the typical Vietnamese restaurant? The owner is no Vietnamese and cannot cook it! The bean spout and little piece of green in the noodle bowl is tiny and no flavor. What a sorry experience when the restaurant owner is not trying to serve you a minimum decent meal!! read more

LOVE-LOVE-LOVE this family-run restaurant, which is in a little white shopping strip mall, next to a (great) shoe repair place. It's directly across the street from K-Mart, 3-4 minutes from the Airport Blvd exit at I-77 (going toward Columbia). Their Vietnamese "buns" (noodles, meat and sauce) is light and healthy; their coconut soup is also fantastic. NO CLUE why the Florida traveler review was so bad. I have been wanting to try this place for some time now (as it is down the street from one of my friends house). We were having a get together at her place last night and I had suggested getting take out for dinner. I have to agree with the other yelpers that the strip mall that this is located in is not the best, but do not let that deter you from giving this place a try. I am truly disgusted by the conditions. There was food splattered on the wall. Tiny ROACHES were crawling on the wall next to us and on the table, and in the napkins on the table. Gnats were swarming our heads. I politely mentioned the bugs to my friend but didn't make a big deal. It was a hot pile of noodles covered in peanuts. Very little flavor and very little to distinguish textures between the bean sprouts and the noodles. It tasted like it was all microwaved and blobbed together. I did not even want to try the other dish on the table which was a red curry. I really wanted to love this place and offer up 5 starts. Summer rolls, Thai green and red curries all taste awesome. The place has a lot of history to it honoring Vietnam War veterans one more reason to visit. I haven't yet tried the Vietnamese side of their menu, but I'm excited to get around to it! I am a pho junkie, i could eat pho for breakfast, lunch and dinner! so, i took my friend and my stomach to try this restaurant out. chopstix is in a strip mall and looks like a hole-in-the-wall (always a promising trait!). i asked the waitress about the pho, and sadly enough, they didnt put beef tendon or tripe in their soup! i was disappointed, my friend was relieved. ;) so, i went with the pad thai instead. my friend ordered the pho. for appetizers we had the spring rolls (not chinese -fried- style, but the fresh, rice paper vietnamese roll) and they had a dumpling deal (5 for $5). the spring rolls and dumplings were great! my pad thai was pretty good as well. the noodles werent the typical flat noodles, they didnt seem as wide as i've had them. but, this dish wasnt as sweet as other places, like thai wasabi. thats a good thing depending on your mood. sometimes you feel like walking the edge of a blood sugar rush, sometimes you dont. i appreciated not having a sweet lunch that day. my friends pho was so-so. the restaurant was a bit stingy with the side veggies (bean sprouts and that green weed thingy) and there wasnt any basil. i love the fact that the customer prepares their own pho with the sauces and veggies. not having basil is sinful!! this is one of the "musts" of pho!! the broth wasnt that savory either, although part of that could be contributed to my friends poor pho-making skills. for dessert i ordered the mango sweet rice. i have this dish every chance i get. i give it mixed reviews. it came in something like a rice "patty" that was about a half inch thick. they didnt have the custard in the rice like i've had at other places, but the center of the rice had a nice texture so i didnt miss the custard as much. the outside of the patty was a little dry though. all in all a cheap meal. for the 2 appetizers and the pho, pad thai and rice dessert the cost was approximately $30. i'd eat here again for the pad thai, so i have more confidence in the thai cuisine. not so much in the vietnamese cuisine. the biggest disappointment is the omitting of beef tendon, but then again, that may not bother you as much! =) so there! read more

Love their coconut soup! I tried my boyfriend's tofu bun and it was great too! Staff was super friendly and helpful.
