We ate it all! Samosa Chaat Garlic Naan Cheese Butter Masala

What an amazing lunch! We had the Samosa Chatt app - delicious. My bestie had Coconut Curry Shrimp - again, fantastic! But the big winner was my Amul Butter Paneer Masala. It's hard to find as most indian restaurants don't carry it on their menu. That's why I LOVE 2 Gingers. It is the thing I love the most on their menu. Our server was the BEST - we're lucky he gave up NYC for Columbia, SC. He was super charming and excellent service. The chef came out and spoke to us and we were thrilled. Ladies, he's charming, handsome, and he cooks! He prepares everything fresh on a daily basis. You can taste the care he puts in his dishes with each bite. Definitely the place to go for indian food in Columbia. Never tried indian food - you are missing out! Ask them to make your dish mild, they'll gladly serve to your preferred level of spice. I'll be back to try the new mocktails!

ANOTHER great experience at 2Gingers. I tried the fried rice this time & it was amazing! Service is always good and the staff in there are always so sweet! Restaurant is always clean and provides a good amount of seating. I would love to try their lunch buffet one day.

So we just moved to Columbia and what better way to explore our new home base than through the ample food options Columbia offers. Now I love Indian food so 2Gingers was the perfect find. We were seated immediately and service was truly immaculate. We started off with some mango lassi which were homemade and you could taste the yogurt and fresh mango with every sip. For our family of 4 we opted with 2 entrees, a side of rice and 3 bread baskets to do more of the share and serve type of dinner. We opted with the mixed naan basket, the cheese naan basket and the lamb naan basket, some lamb saag ( spicy) and some butter paneer with a side of rice. Dinner was phenomenal and this will defiantly become a regular dinner spot for us while living here. Food and service were both amazing- like I legit cannot wait to eat leftovers and even the kiddos enjoyed their meal.

Another awesome experience at 2 Gingers, So many incredible appetizers and entrees. You will leave this restaurant with a circus in your mouth. Best of all is the customer service. They treat you like family here. Our server Akash was amazing. 3 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars from the wife and I.

Mysore Masala Dosa

Options for vegetarian dining on a Sunday evening in central South Carolina are not many, but I found this place. It's a sketchy building that isn't the cleanest. A lot of times this is where you find this sort of food. I got an aloo tikki chaat, which came with an absolute bevy of sev (fried chickpea noodles) on top. It was fine, not the most interesting variation of this dish I've ever tried. My dosa was more impressive; you can't fake a dosa and this was properly thin and crispy. The potato masala on the inside was one of the largest (and best spiced) versions I've ever had. The way these things are served is an embarrassment of riches; there were two chutneys and sambar on the side, but I didn't come close to finishing all the accompaniments because the flavor on the dosa itself was more than enough. It's not the most amazing dining experience, but the food was legit.

No Kheer, but Halvah! The food of south India is refreshingly pleasant. Dosa is my new injeera! This place has a vegan menu! Because we were waiting so late there and wouldn't have gotten to Saint Simon's island before nightfall, and because we wouldn't have gotten our dessert if we hadn't reminded our waiter that we ordered it, I've knocked 2 Gingers back to 3 stars. They were also out of ingredients apparently to cook three of the dishes that were on their menu. Unfortunately I don't think we'll be going back there again.

Food was amazing. They have an extensive menu and my dish was the best that I have ever had. If we are ever backbin Columbia, we will definitely be stopping in again.

Chicken Vindaloo and Garlic Naan

Having never been to an Indian restaurant or eaten authentic Indian cuisine before, I don't have a baseline to compare my experience to. But I can say that this food was amazing!! I've already been back several times and looking forward to trying more items on the menu. The Naan is absolute perfection! The Chicken Vindaloo was delicious and just the right amount of spice. Only complaint is that the service is subpar and the restaurant feels old and dirty. Pictured is the chicken vindaloo and the garlic naan.

Chicken Marsala and Curry Vegetables.

I was craving chicken Marsala for months Well they did not disappoint. This was the only thing I ate, I put other food on my plate to not seem biased, lol! But I only tried the chicken Marsala and it was delish!!! To my surprised, I checked in on the yelp app and received 10% off on my order. When I need my chicken Marsala craving satisfied....I will be back! Good Jobz

Awesome food! Everything item had a distinctive flavor of its own, very well done. I especially enjoyed the tender chicken Masala!

Hyderabad House - Malai kofta, gobi manchurian, garlic naan

My second time here. The first time was during the soft opening when the menu was limited so wanted…read moreto check out additional items before posting. We tried dosa, vada, idli, gutti vankay curry, and andhra goat curry the first time. The second time, we ordered gobi Karampoddi, gongura chicken, Mirchi ka Salan, and Veg Hakka noodles - all Indian extra spicy and an order of idli sambhar - mild spicy. The service was good and we got the food pretty quickly with the appetizers coming out first, as requested. The portion size was also pretty decent for the price- enough for 2-3 adults if you're sharing entrees. However, the spice level was a little off. The Mirchi ka Salan could've used some more Thai chillies instead of the large jalapenos that tasted like bell peppers. The gongura chicken and veg Hakka noodles were almost spot on at least after adding the chilli sauce that comes with the noodles. The sambhar was ordered mild for a teenager but it turned out to have a little too much heat for them. It was spot on for an adult with a developed palette but maybe not so much for a weaker one. Desserts were also on the okay side. They put rooh-afsa (pinkish rose syrup) in their rabri which makes it a little different. The rasmalai was pretty watered down with no malai (cream) but was flavorful. I don't think the desserts provide any value for money so I would skip them. We had a bunch of leftovers (Mirchi ka Salan and Hakka noodles) that tasted really good when reheated. So maybe the spices just needed some time to really bond with the food overnight. I would definitely recommend this place if you're near Columbia

I recently ordered takeout from Hyderabad House and was pleased with the experience…read more What I ordered: I got their gobi manchurian to start things off. It came is spice levels: baby mild, mild, medium, spicy, very spicy. I got the mild because I do like my gobi manchurian to have some spice. That said, their mild is more like a heavily medium from what I'm accustomed to. I enjoyed it but just a note--if you like things to have only a slight kick, I'd go for the baby mild. For my main, I got their malai kofta. It closer to a light medium when ordering it mild but again, no problem with that. For the dish itself I found dumplings to be a bit too mushy and the overall flavor was a bit lacking for me. For my bread, I got the garlic naan. It was excellent! Covered in chopped garlic and glistening with butter--it was indulgent and delicious. Everything was perfectly packaged (no leaking!) and came piping hot! And, the servings were robust so I have fully half leftover for another dinner. Get to it!
