Went to the Meek Mill concert & Dussepalooza event here twice and had a fairly decent time. I was on the ground level for the Meek Mill concert event and someone decided to throw up......maintenance did not address the issue so essentially my friend and I had to take a few steps back from the area to avoid stepping in it. The Dussepalooza events were a different experience due to having access to the balcony level where you are able to sit down instead of standing up the entire time. There were also bars up there that provided prompt service. Heads up, if you get hungry, you're forced to go to Chiptole across the street or to the diner next door before or after the event.

First, the decor beautiful and everything is up to date and well-maintained. The big beds are really comfortable, the showers are clean and spacious and have good hot water and water pressure, the tub drains well, and the whole premises is safe and well-lit. The whole hotel is non-smoking. It's a very clean, very well kept up, and well-run hotel. The free Wi-Fi always worked. The locks could be connected to my iPhone via Bluetooth so I only had to press a button on an app on my phone to get into the building and unlock the door to my room. We had two big flat screen TVs with all the channels. There was a nice welcome message stating my Hilton membership status on the TV every time I checked in. A Target is across the parking lot and I loved that. It was so convenient. We really enjoyed the breakfasts. Derrick and his team did an amazing job, providing a delicious variety of fresh hot and cold food every day. The breakfast room has lots of plants and a high ceiling and enormous windows, and it just felt refreshing and invigorating to step in there every day. It had a good vibe. Positives: convenient to the convention center, there were no bedbugs and the staff is very nice…read moreright up until you're checking out. Negatives: basically everything else. I checked into this hotel and was told parking my car for three nights with their valet service would cost 350 dollars. I know this was during a big event at the Javits Center, but even so,116 dollars a night for garage parking is crazy, bordering on extortion. The garage just down the street charged a quarter of that cost. The ladies at the front desk were polite and friendly, and that's about the best experience I had at this place. I checked into my room, which I booked at this hotel because I have celiac disease and rely heavily on meal prepping and cooking my own food when traveling, because most local restaurants, vendors and shops just aren't an option for me. So I needed a hotel room with a microwave, small stove and decent sized fridge. The fridge was leaking water when I arrived. The microwave was broken and despite me calling down and asking the front desk to look at it (and them promising they would "send an engineer"), they never did send anyone to fix it. I moved the chair to sit down and do some work, and there was a fully exposed electrical outlet jammed right up against a curtain, just waiting to start a fire. The room was old and the furniture banged up. A lot of the drawers were badly jammed and hard to use. The cabinet doors over the stove were broken. There was hair in the bathroom. The "kitchen flatware" advertised included two spoons, two forks, two butter knives, one steak knife with a broken handle, one butcher knife, a large plastic spoon and no spatula, but instead a kind of grilling meat fork. Most of the things in the kitchen had been put back dirty and had to be washed before use. The showerhead barely functioned at all, making showers next to impossible, and there was no hot water on my second morning there. I made the best of it out of necessity and checked out at the end of my trip. I showed the woman at the front counter a picture of just the electrical outlet (zoomed in, without any context for it) and she immediately identified it as being "the one behind the chair", so they already knew about it, but just didn't bother to fix it. This is a MASSIVE fire risk, and a hazard to anyone staying in the room with small children who might stick their fingers into the wall space around the socket and get electrocuted. I mentioned the microwave had never gotten looked at and was broken during my stay and the lady at the desk simply ignored me, turned away and said nothing until I left the hotel. I would recommend staying at this hotel only if it's your absolute only option.

The only issue I had was the Airbnb listing had a different price for the daily fees than what I actually paid at the counter. So either the airbnb listing description needs to be updated or I was overcharged by the front desk staff. Deducted one star because of that part of the experience. The room itself was clean and quiet for my one night stay and the Wi-Fi worked reliably. would stay again if looking to be in the area.

I arrived via the small Madison Square Park entrance for Clock Tower, dropped in and asked if there was a good place to order a bottle of sparkling water and take a meeting on my laptop. I was shown a series of lobby sofas, and when a space seemed too loud, another area that offered a little more quiet and a background convenient for blurring without much foot traffic in a zoom call. A credit card was taken to place the order and held until I was ready to cash out. This practice may be a bit uncomfortable for some travelers who would prefer another person not hold onto their card for an extended time, but I did not insist on another method. As a Marriott Bonvoy member, the hotel WiFi was free with the Bonvoy credentials. After settling in, a large bottle of sparkling San Pellegrino mineral water with a lovely hand blown glass and slice of lime was delivered by the server who greeted me. It was mentioned that the lounging area I was using would be reserved at 4pm, so I'd be welcome to stay until 3:30pm, which would be just as my meeting was finishing anyway. The server returned a couple more times to refill my glass during my meeting and to deliver the final bill. Total came to $18 for a large sparkling San Pellegrino ($13 bottle + NYC tax + 22% tip), WiFi, table service, a clean restroom, and a lobby that felt safe and monitored enough to step away from my property for a minute to use the restroom.

What really stood out to me, though, was the staff. Everyone I encountered was genuinely warm and kind, but I especially want to recognize Wen, the housekeeper on the 17th floor. And a little reminder to fellow travelers: please tip your housekeepers -- and tip them well! They do so much behind the scenes to make your stay enjoyable, and they deserve the recognition. Very Disappointed With Our Stay…read more My best friend and I stayed three nights at the Renaissance Flushing, and unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. For all three nights, our room was never cleaned unless we called to request it. We had to call every day for housekeeping and towels, and on Sunday, our room wasn't cleaned until approximately 10 PM. The biggest issue, however, happened after checkout. We left two framed photographs in our room that we had purchased during our trip--$25 each, in glass frames, and very sentimental to us. The next day, I called the hotel approximately five times trying to locate them. I was repeatedly told someone would check the room and call me back. No one did. Eventually, I was told housekeeping had only found "trash" in the room and had thrown it away. I spoke with Kenny, who I believe is the Operations Manager, and was told that his staff would never throw something like that away and that I should check my belongings. My friend and I have both checked everything. We know we left those photographs in the room. I understand management may not have personally thrown them away, but if the photographs aren't there, then housekeeping threw them away. Rather than telling me what your staff "would never do," I expected someone to actually take responsibility and investigate. I even had someone still in New York who could have picked them up immediately. These weren't about the $50--they were irreplaceable memories from a trip with my best friend. Ultimately, every major issue we experienced came back to housekeeping: our room wasn't properly serviced during our stay, we repeatedly had to call for basic necessities, and then our personal belongings were apparently thrown away. What's even more disappointing is that instead of taking accountability when I reported the missing items, management chose to defend the staff rather than investigate what actually happened. That is not the level of service or accountability I expected from a Renaissance Marriott property.
