Went for a bridal expo in January. Parking is free which is nice! However we did have a bit of a walk as we parked in overflow across the street- the lots were full by the time we arrived, only 45 min after the opening of the expo. The space is massive and perfect for any large convention! Bathrooms are clearly visible and well placed. I felt like the experience coming here was very smooth and signs were very clear as to where we were going. Overall a very good space for expos/conventions! read more

Came for the bridal expo this past Saturday and I have to say any experience I've had at the meadowlands expo center has been a pleasant one. Parking is free and all covered in one of the garages which is great for in climate weather. It's a clean and organized venue which is a huge plus. They always have their own food vendors which is a plus for when you get hungry and the event you are attending may or may not always have food. The wedding expo was nicely laid out and organized to allow for a solid amount of foot traffic. It was crowded but not terrible. read more

For the past couple years I have been attending Contropolis in Secaucus, NJ. Both times the event was held at the Meadowlands Exposition Center. The center is located in an area with various hotels and office parks so it is a bit off the beaten path, but still relatively easy to get to. Parking on the other hand is a bit of confusing. There is a lot right next to the center, but then there are other lots which are a bit more ambiguous as to whether or not you can park there so be careful when picking your spot. The center is at the top of a set of stairs. When you enter there is a wide open area set up for check-in and ticketing activities. Then you go in through some large doors and you are in a large open area where most of the convention is contained. The large open area can be sub-divided with walls and doors that help separate out panel rooms for conventions. Contropolis uses the rooms towards the front as panel rooms, then the rest of the area as a combination dealer's room and autograph table set up. Towards the back they have a separate area for the Photo Ops. In this same area there are two bathrooms (that's it, no others that I could find). There are also food vendor areas but they may not always be open depending on the set up of the con. It is important to note that this is a medium sized con space. Something like New York Comic-Con would never fit into a space like this. Contropolis is the perfect fit for this venue and I have enjoyed myself both times I have gone. If the event is not going to be pulling in tens of thousands of people, this is a perfectly good space. read more

This review is strictly for the VeganFest that happened today, November 16, 2019. Hubby and I purchased our tickets in advance so as we showed our tickets and walked in, we were each given a free t-shirt. Now off to the floor! This expo housed many types of vendors ranging from edible treats, clothing, and make up. The underlying theme here is Vegan. There was a guy though, trying to convince me to do solar panels on top of my roof. Not sure what that had the do with being vegan but he was there. The longest lines were usually the desserts but another was at Freakin' Vegan which had exceptionally decent prices for great food. Plenty of snacks such as chips, dips, and granolas. Did I mention there was even the vendor Pickles on a Stick?! It's a pickle on a stick that is deep fried. There were so many vendors nicely spaced out. "If you buy x amount of merchandise, you'll get this lovely bag," were said to help persuade you to purchase more. The cutest bag I found was "Bi+ch, peas." Many families were there as we sampled our way before deciding what to purchase and consume. Tables and chairs filled the center and everyone was polite about eating, cleaning up and leaving so that others could sit down. I found all the vendors to be fun and very persuasive. Ohh you should see my bag. It was stuffed. Thankfully they offer free parking so walking back with a heavy, fill bag wasn't too bad. The vendors do offer to hold your merchandise for you so that you could walk around without lugging your everything. I'm too forgetful so I didn't elect to accept their offer. Great time at the Vegan Fest. Would I come back? No because most of the merchants stated I can acquire their products at Whole Foods, Sickles, Dean's, etc. It's a fun event to try at least once so far that, I gave it 3 1/2 stars but I rounded it up to 4 Stars. read more

Over the years, I have visited this center many times for competitions. Let me first say that the chairs are flimsy and uncomfortable. They started out connected but the plastic ties were quickly broken. This has been the situation for all of the years I have been visiting the center (5+). In addition, we were unable to fully see the stage unless seated in the ​very first row. Even then, the teachers, judges, and cameramen​ are in front of you, partially blocking the stage that should have been higher. The monitors on the side were not big enough, nor high enough to allow a full view. (The monitors and stage settings may have been the ​fault of the organization renting the space.) On Saturday, the place was a mess. There were not enough chairs and no more were brought out. Trash was not picked up between performances. People were standing everywhere making it difficult to move around. The lines for the concession stand tended to be very long, forcing many out the door to get food and coffee elsewhere. Other the popcorn, candy, and pretzels, I didn't care for the food and I don't like paying $3 for a bottle of water when I would need to drink at least three of them over the course of the day. I am confident the center can do better, specifically by investing in better seating. read more

My company rented a booth at the 2013 Tri-State Food Show held in the Meadowlands Expo Center. I really enjoyed this expo center and look forward to returning next year. LOCATION: The location of Meadowlands is wonderful because it is only 12 miles from the Newark airport and it is adjacent to multiple hotels and restaurants. PARKING: The parking garage at Meadowlands is very organized and convenient to the expo center so there was no trouble finding a parking spot and there were no traffic jams trying to enter or leave the parking garage. ORGANIZATION: The staff was very organized the day we delivered our equipment to our booth. We only had a short wait before it was our turn to pull up onto the ramp and unload our vehicle. If you've hauled equipment for a food show you can appreciate being able to park as close as possible to your booth to unload and reload equipment. My arms and back were very grateful for short haul to our booth. ON SITE FACILITIES: We did not have access to kitchen facilities such as a oven, stove or deep fryer so I have to dock the expo center 1 star for not providing use of a kitchen at a food show. We were provided with a wash station, but it was not cleaned overnight until the next morning. One of the booth vendors had the bright idea to dump pasta down the sink clogged the station for everyone else. A snack bar was open during the show as well as the day of set up. It was nice having access to bottled water and snacks, but the prices were outrageous. Thank goodness one of the vendors had bottled water at their booth and was willing to share for the two day show or we would have had to pay $2.50 per bottle! Overall, I really enjoyed the Meadowlands Expo Center and thought this was a great spot for a food show. read more

Hubby and I went here for the Heroes and Villains Fan Fest during 4th of July weekend. It was easy to get to via the Turnpike and we were happy to see various shops and restaurants in the surrounding area. We parked in one of the nearby lots, but it took some time to find a spot as it was super crowded. There are a ton of hotels so I guess that's where most people park. Anyway, upon entering, we checked in and the volunteer staff hand us our badges and posters. We passed through security after a quick check and walked around the main expo center. I actually prefer the smaller types of exposition center as the larger ones like the Javit's are huge and way too many people. We popped in to hear John Barrowman (Arrow, Dr. Who) speak and there was plenty of seating available. Afterward, we headed downstairs to wait for our Photo Ops. I didn't feel like it was disorganized or anything. The stair situation was a bit confusing, but there were plenty of volunteers to steer you in the right direction. It wasn't very hot outside, but it was freezing inside due to the A/C. I'm glad that I wore long sleeves! Also, the Ladies' bathroom line could be really long at times. But just be patient and keep in together. There are plenty of food options inside, but there are so many places to eat outside of the venue. We ate at Carrabba's and had delicious pizza and pasta. Yum. I wouldn't mind returning to this place. And I highly recommend Heroes & Villains Fan Fest if your favorite actors/characters will be there! read more

This center wasn't large or anything that I had expected. It was extremely underwhelming and disappointing. If you ever been to the Convention Center in Manhattan, by comparison the Meadowlands Exposition Center doesn't measure up. Some positives were that there was free parking. There are parking garages all around it. They also have a coat check inside so if there's a long line to get in wear your coat and they check it. read more

The Meadowlands Exposition Center feels 20 years out of date. This is not a convention center and does not have the traditional convention center layout. This is purely an expo center with the small amount and size of the available breakout rooms. With a poorly thought out convention layout, it is very easy to overcrowd the entrance and cause serious bottlenecks. Most of the expo center is an open layout and noise bleed can be a serious issue. Food options on site are booth setups and were ok, prices were not overly terrible. There are nowhere near enough bathrooms on site; with only two sets at the opposite ends of the building (the men's room only had three stalls.) Handicap accessibility could be much better, especially at the main entrance as it is a set of stairs. While there is a ramp, it is steep. Free parking is actually adequate on site, but layout is confusing as no walkways directly connect the garages to the convention center, so you have to use the stairs. Plenty of food and hotel options are a short walk away from the expo center. Overall, the expo center feels underdeveloped and undersized. The lack of direct entrances from the parking garages are a serious issue that causes confusion. The lack of a directly attached hotel denies possible additional convention space. Meadowlands Exposition Center would not be my first choice for a convention location. read more

I came here this weekend for the Great Beer Expo. There was a massive amount of people, but they handled the crowd easily. I waited no more than a minute on the lines. They had a coat check area for $2. The space is big, well lit, and clean. They had a back door area they allowed people to enter and exit to smoke, which I found awesome. Overall happy with the venue spot. read more

This parking here is terrible! There is a tiny little one level parking area that had way too few parking spaces to accommodate any kind of event for the size of the space inside. The only other option was a dilapidated parking deck that a nearby mall shares that had no stairs going down from the upper decks to the side where the convention center is. You either have to walk down the ramp that the cars are driving up and then walk down a narrow one way road with no sidewalk and risk getting hit by cars or walk all the way around the parking deck and surrounding hotels to get back to the convention center (if you can even find it at that point). read more

Came here the other day for a trade show. Very easy to get to by bus from Port Authority, and less than $10 for a round trip. You just have to deal with the hell hole of using the Port Authority. Bus drops off right in front of the entrance, and there is a bus stop across the street to get back to the city. It's actually very convenient and is a quick ride. There are a lot of hotels and restaurants close by within walking distance. The expo center itself has an old feel to it, and resembles a building built in the late 70's or early 80's, yet it's pretty clean and well air conditioned. Bathrooms were on the smaller side for a convention center and were a bit warm. Overall, not a bad spot to attend a convention or business event with many places to stay close by if needed. read more

I recently attended the Walker Stalker con here and perhaps it was because it has such a large fan base, this place sucked? Let's list all the things wrong with this spot. - No organization. The staff is very la dee da about letting you in and monitoring how many people are even allowed inside. - The basement level is a complete fire hazard. Swarms of people that rush you like they're about to start a mosh pit. No breathing room. And you have to go outside then back in just to get to the basement (makes no sense). - Security is a joke and doesn't monitor who goes wherever. - The parking is a DISASTER!!!!!! The garage just ends, no wrap around, just ends...Meaning you would hit the wall if you kept going. Also forces you to make a u-turn to get back downstairs (safety issue). - The parking lots are scattered around and half belong to the surrounding hotels. Definitely a disaster there, as well. - 2 bathrooms for the entire place. Both resulted in half hour long lines. Half the stalls don't have locks. The good? It's easy to get to. 45 mins from LI by car and the bus stops right in front. Never coming here again. read more

OK, sure the electrical was overpriced, and they decided to use comtex for internet access (see previous review), but this place is really great. I know, I never thought I'd call the Meadowlands really great either, yet here we are. It was accessible, easy to set-up, the event coordinators and experts where really on top of their game. The show was an outstanding success, significantly better even than my "good case scenario" outlook. Simply put, I can highly recommend this as a great place for a convention or exhibition. Much easier to deal with than the corresponding New York Shows. read more

I was at the Meadowland for the first time yesterday for Brick Fest live. Although the event was fine, the Meadowlands handling of the event was mediocre at best. The ticketing information said that Brickfest started at 3pm and that attendees were to arrive at 2 pm to pick up their tickets from the box office. However, at 2 pm the entire place was locked. There was no access to the box office at all. There was one. ONE security guard outside who said that they wouldn't open up until 3 pm. Not only that, but she didn't really seem to know what was going on with the event at all. The box office phone went straight to voice mail as well. That's crazy. The crowd at Brick Fest was mostly small children and their parents. It was July in NJ. It was easily 90 degrees outside in the glaring sun. One security guard attempted to have ~200 families make a line without any signs or structure to stand around for an hour for no real reason. The Meadowlands should have had a better system for letting everyone know what was going on. The Meadowlands should have had more than one guard outside. The Meadowlands shouldn't have told us to be there at 2pm if it didn't let the doors open until 3. The Meadowlands should be lucky that no one was injured or suffered heat exhaustion by being forced to stand outside for. They totally did NOT care about the safety of their patrons, especially small children or the elderly. Next time I'll drive the extra few miles to Philadelphia and see my event there. I certainly won't suggest going to see anything at the Meadowlands. Boo. read more

Was here for SuperNatural Con. The worst the owner are not organized and there are numerous deaf and HOH ppl and we are NOT understanding anything because no interpreter and no we shouldn't have to call for it as it's an event huge and must be provide at all times. Spend $185 for what to not understand anyone says who does this!! Not acceptable and the stars are no better. Either as they didn't make sure they had any accessible for people like me or any disabilities. Never again am I spending money for something I can not hear. read more

Great open space. Security is not too intrusive. A great spot to host larger events. Came here for the beer expo and thankfully there are a few places within walking distance to get good eats. Seems like they are up to code and there's plenty of ways to exit in-case a hazardous situation arises. Smaller rooms for instructional sessions. Would be nicer if there was more natural light, but at least temperature was kept at a great level throughout my stay. read more

I've been to this expo center a few times. More recently, my sisters and I took my nephew here for the Discover the dinosaurs exhibition. The ticket taking process seemed a bit chaotic. My aunt and mom were able to walk thru the exit of the exhibition to go the bathroom and proceeded to go thru the expo without purchasing a ticket (opps!!). Looking back, I don't remember seeing many workers around. We probably could have all gotten away with walking thru the exit without paying! This location is easy to get to buses and taxis available. There are parking decks available. Also, plenty of restaurants and hotels within walking distance. This is a nice big open space with clean bathrooms. There is a snack bar available that serves nachos, pretzels, water, soda etc. read more

This is the site where I became a lawyer... I took the July 2015 New Jersey Bar Exam at the Meadowlands Exposition Center and today I found out that I passed!!! However, as a Yelper, it's my obligation to give an objective review... The Expo Center is located on a narrow street adjacent to a parking garage. Nearby are a hotel, two office buildings, and a shopping center. I'm not that familiar with the highways in New Jersey, but the Expo Center is located near this highway. The Expo Center is roughly 20 minutes from the Lincoln Tunnel (though the traffic through the Lincoln Tunnel is a nightmare). The 320X bus runs from the Port Authority to the Expo Center. The exam took place on two miserable days at the end of July. Each day I took the exam, it was about 30 degrees in the cavernous room. It felt like I was in Antarctica. There were people wearing sweaters and hoodies (they weren't allowed to wear it over their heads). During the lunch break, the staff at the Expo Center sold snacks. It was basically junk food (pizza, hot dogs, burgers, pretzels, soda...). I didn't buy that garbage. Instead, I packed two peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, a banana, and a small bottle of apple juice- food that I knew would give me the stamina to survive two arduous days. There's nothing special about this place. It's just a run-of-the-mill convention center at a semi-convenient location. Nevertheless, it's not like I had a choice of where I wanted to take the exam. read more

I had a great convention experience here! Coming from Philly, I still can't believe the parking was (wait for it) Free! My only problem was the map outside to navigate the plaza very hard to understand. I have a very good sense of direction but had to Google directions to the restaurants that were literally a 5 minute walking distance. Finally I found out that you can walk through the holiday inn to cut to the restaurants. From standing outside of the expo center, you literally can't see anything other than office buildings and the embassy suites which makes it confusing. What also sucked is that classes for this convention started at 8am, but the snack bar wasn't open. I expected some sort of coffee stand but there was nothing open at that time. read more

We came here for a Beer Expo. Naturally I enjoyed myself. The space is huge and easy to drive to. Be aware that the bus schedule for the Expo is not consistent so you may end up shelling out $50 for a cab ride like I did. read more

WrestleCon 2013 was probably one of the greatest experiences of my life. This review is less about the actual venue than it is about WrestleCon. The venue is fine and all, but what convention center isn't? The parking was a bit out of the way but after having the kind of day I experienced I could care less. WrestleCon is a must visit if you are a wrestling fan or at one time you were a wrestling fan. It includes live wrestling shows from the top independent promotions, as well as autograph signings and collectibles from wrestling themed companies. Has a dated feel, but definitely clean and functional...super cinchy to navigate. Plaza drive where the expo center is located also has a bunch of restaurants, hotels and a movie theatre. Can't beat that. Next time I hear i have to attend a conference here, I won't cringe. read more

It can be daunting going in. There are so many exhibitors for so many things that you don't know where to start. My wife was looking into roofing companies and there must have been at least 4. I came here for the Heroes and Villains Fan Fest from July 2-July 3. This location was the absolute perfect place to hold the event! Given that the sizes of the crowds were moderate, there was plenty of walking space to browse vendor and autograph tables. However, I did find it difficult to find sitting areas inside the main hall that were not designated for handicapped individuals. Having gone dressed up in cosplay, I was concerned about the cooling and ventilation of the area. Luckily, even on a hot and sunny day, the main hall was kept nice and cool for the con-goers. I was surprised to learn however that the photo ops area was located downstairs where a parking area was blocked off by tarps and divided in photo booths and lines for people to stand on. While the hot air seeped in from the outside, several air hoses lead down from upstairs into the area to help keep it cool (which worked for the most part). I honestly had the time of my life! I am ready to go back again next year! read more

As good as an expo center can get. Came here for a dance competition for the past two years in August and it was a decent place. Walking distance to many restaurants, which is great if you don't want to eat the expensive expo center food. They also sell wine! Which was pretty nice too. The bathrooms could use some updating. read more

Visited for the jack o lantern extravaganza, parking was free and pretty easy. Pleasant experience, concession stands were a little pricey seeing as to that it was a family affair. But I guess that's expected. All in all a nice time everyone was helpful and friendly facilities was clean. I would visit again read more

I've only ever been here for the Beer Expo (twice), and I thought the venue was perfect. Little to no wait for bathrooms, free parking, decent snacks...no complaints, really! The movie theater in the complex is really nice, and though most of the restaurants are chains, Houlihan's is good (better than the one on Route 4). read more

Dinosaur exhibit sucks. 3 automated dinosaurs behind a rope and 6 bouncy houses each with 45 min. Waits. Never again.

I'm very disappointed by this Discover the Dinosaurs. This is a huge waste of money and time. It's poorly managed so theres crowds are at each stand. The coloring station doesn't have anything for the kids to use. All activity sheets are used already. Two of the blow up jump houses are deflated. One of the advertised fossil attractions isn't open. The teenagers running everything seem annoyed by the crowds. I'd call this s disaster for a 3 day event. read more

I went to the exposition center for the supernatural convention in September 2017. I was pleasantly surprised to find it far less crowded than the previous year. At first it didn't make sense logically to me, because they had just as many fans as the previous year. However, on the second day, I realized the staff were far more prepared, and that's why it worked out this time. The SPN fandom conventions are notoriously large (which is the reason we switched locations in the first place). Even though it hadn't worked out so well two years ago at this location. The venue clearly did everything in their power to straighten out the kinks in their strategy (and it miraculously worked!) Against all odds, the staff members managed to utilize the screens in the main theater to full effect. They used it (rather brilliantly in my opinion) to keep the areas from crowding by controlling the flow. Since a large majority of fans could sit in the theater and wait for their ticket numbers to appear on screen. It meant people weren't being crowded into the main area like sardines (like last year). It was a very nice change of scenery to actually be able to walk through the main area and into the vendors room without fighting through a crowd. In fact, the times between photo ops and call-outs, caused some areas to look down right sparse. I wouldn't hesitate to come again if they continue to show such excellent leadership skills. I especially enjoyed the large array of vendors (including The New Leash on Life table). I really loved the service dog they brought from their organization, and getting a chance to contribute to such a wonderful charity. It certainly made the convention a much more pleasant experience! In fact, the only issue I had during the trip came from the theaters choice of stage lighting. I was sitting in the second row (so I should have gotten decent pictures), but the lighting made that difficult. I can't help but think I would have gotten better pictures with a cheaper ticket, and a seat farther in the back. read more
