Last weekend, my friends and I stayed at this hotel for an overnight stay. Check in was a breeze and Andrew at the front desk was very courteous. We reserved two rooms and they were both on the same floor. I liked that you are required to scan your hotel room key inside the elevator before you can choose your floor. The room was decent size and the bathroom was spacious. There was enough closet space with a fridge and iron. The only thing I didn't like was that the bed was too soft. Breakfast is also complimentary and it is from 7-10am on weekends. There were waffles, scrambled eggs, omelette, boiled eggs, sausage, veggie sausage, cereals, oatmeal, bagels, assorted pound cakes(poppyseed/marble), fruits, and yogurt. Check out was also quick and efficient. I had a great stay at the hotel and definitely would come back again.

Ugh I do not enjoy giving Marriott hotels anything less than 4 stars, but here I am doing just that. This hotel was new(er)! Which was exciting and fantastic. Everything was clean, the staff was pleasant, the gym was simple but met my needs, and the complimentary breakfast was decent too. The location is the absolute pits! The hotel is like an island surround my one way streets and limitations on the directions that you're able to turn thus making it nearly impossible to get back down to the main drag in front of the hotel unless you loop around the neighborhood above the hotel! This was a huge pain in my butt and very confusing to navigate. The price was so much better than the hotels near the expo center, but the traffic and the location kind of sucked.

Too much reflection when taking photos of NYC at night though. Better to walk outside by the Port Imperial ferry terminal, and along the riverfront walkway. Complimentary water bottles upon check-in. Were informed that Breakfast is available for a fee. Rooms are small. King-sized room had a sizeable bathroom with double sink. The double room was much tighter, with regular bathroom size. Modern fixtures; nice coffee maker; mini-fridge wasn't cold and kept tilting forward. There is a gym and pool but didn't get to check them out. We didn't bring stuff since we thought we just had time for sleeping, but pleasantly surprised when we got late check-out at 2pm. We snowboard first and then go back to a hotel in the area to enjoy dinner, anime, and some alone time together. It's literally one of my favorite things to look forward to every month. The hotel is within close proximity to the American Dream Mall, but like all the other hotels in the area, you either have to drive over, take a shuttle over (if it is offered by the hotel), or get an Uber/Lyft. It is not within walking distance. PARKING I remember CLEARLY being weirded out by the location of this hotel. I had to make a sudden left turn in on a really busy street while it was raining, and the parking lot was so weird! I had my snowboard and his in the car, so I really worried about leaving it in the parking lot overnight. Thankfully it was safe, but it did not give me good vibes at all! So we parked my car in close proximity to a security camera. That being said, the parking is free! The parking lot, is kind of small and cramped in size, and the staircase to get into the hotel is kind of confusing. There is no map saying which way to go. CHECKING-IN Upon checking in, the hotel is absolutely stunning. I had to use the restroom upon entering because I drank too much water while snowboarding earlier in the day, and the guest restroom was HUGE and stunning on its own. Checking-in was a breeze, especially since we book everything through booking.com ROOM I was expecting something fancier, I'm not going to lie. The whole check-in area and guest restroom were so fancy, the reviews on Google are close to a 5-star, so my expectations were high. But the room did not meet those expectations. It's a room. Would we return? It wouldn't be our first choice or our third for that matter. The remote didn't work so we couldn't turn on the TV or change the channels at all, and we had to watch anime on his phone instead. This was the hotel that made us realize, we need to start bringing an iPad with us because the hotel's appliances don't always work. That's been a fact if you check my profile for all our hotel stays. BATHROOM Well-lit bathroom, good shower, hot water runs quickly and well. Kind of cramped in size. BREAKFAST They do have a well-stocked for breakfast, but we didn't really like anything they had despite we grabbed some stuff to go the next day. My man even got some coffee to have before work, and he didn't like it at all so we had to do a quick Starbucks run instead. Eat at your own risk. OVERALL I can't say anything about the other amenities because we didn't stay here long nor were we prepared to utilize them. Although, I don't see us returning either to try them out. It was around $200 a night when we stayed here, on a weekday. It is what it is, but I feel kind of let down.

I do not recommend doing what I did. Check-in time is 3:00pm. I received a call around 6:45pm--without addressing me or the caller saying who it was--asking if I was still coming. I have stayed in plenty of hotels across the country and never received a call like this. It's not like they were at full capacity and trying to accommodate guests without reservations judging by the parking lot. I didn't call back since I was so close to the hotel when I received the call. Hotel staff in general, whether I communicated with them in person or over the phone, weren't the most helpful or friendly. I know this isn't a hotel anyone stays at for the ambiance or scenery, but this takes the cake for the ugliest hotel views I've ever seen. Dirty windows showing a closed pool and buildings. The bathroom is very small and the chair at the desk is so flimsy I felt like I would break it if I leaned back at all. The bed was decent enough but the covers were very thin. That was just the beginning though. The halls are narrow and the walls are thin as you would expect in a hotel in this price range. I could barely sleep between the noise from other guests and the housekeepers constantly chattering in the morning. The room looked clean enough when I checked in, but upon further examination, it was not spotless by any means. Most notably there were some mysterious red stains in the corner of the room. Maybe it was ketchup, maybe it was blood, maybe something else, I don't know. I told the employee at the front desk when I was checking out and ahead said she's let housekeeping know. The cherry on top is realizing I left a shirt I bought at the concert on the bed before checking out. I'm typically good about checking a hotel room before I check out, but I was tired and wanted to get the hell out, so I just left. I called the hotel that night and was told by the front desk employee that he didn't see anything in the lost and found but I would get a call in the morning. I did not, so I called back. This employee at least called housekeeping, but said nothing was found. I will absolutely never come here again and would never recommend this place. There are other hotels literally across the street and next door if you do need to stay in this area. They may cost more but I would assume it's worth the extra cost.

I had to call my financial institution and dispute the charges before they decided all my evidence to provide for the dispute was enough they better just release the funds and give my money back. They insisted on fixing the issues the next morning until I started recording videos of the rodents prancing around in the lobby. Health and safety hazard RUN! I've stayed here a few times, so I feel like I could give a pretty accurate assessment on the experience. The folks at the front desk are always pleasant, although they can't really do much to enhance your stay and don't seem to pay attention to status. Two years in a row, I had to advocate for a breakfast voucher after learning I should have gotten one from the restaurant. Last year you used to get a hot breakfast with status, this year they changed it to this weird continental breakfast. It's not even worth it. The rooms are so outdated and really need to be upgraded. It's such a shame that with a view like that on the outside, that the view on the inside doesn't match. There is plenty of parking behind the hotel. You just need to pay for it daily. But honestly, in that area, it's worth it. The restaurant is interesting... the music is always way too loud, it's been that way for three years. Breakfast is pretty simple, there is something for everybody though. The staff are very sweet in the morning. At night, it turns into this random collection of people with average food and terrible bartenders. That has certainly been consistent every year. Although I guess you don't really go to a hotel bar for good service? Overall, this is a pretty average day that checks the boxes of what you would need for a hotel. If they were to do renovations, it would certainly enhance the experience.

This was our first time doing date night together at a hotel, so we did go somewhere nicer the first time around. It was a great stay! BOOKING My man planned and booked everything. He booked it via booking.com and had a slight issue because he accidentally booked it for the wrong date. Booking does have a change of reservation policy, it is free and included, but the first 2 people over the phone at booking did not want to do their jobs. The third person finally did their job and seamlessly changed the reservation date. Why isn't the option available online, I'll never know, that could have all been avoided! He works overtime quite a bit and late nights so I didn't blame him for a second! It meant the world to me that he planned this all on his own for me. So he made a mistake, big whoop, things happen when you're exhausted. PARKING The parking lot is spacious and free! Plenty of parking to choose from! Obviously we also stayed off season during a weekday so that might have also factored into things. CHECKING-IN My god this place was stunning! Supposedly this is a 3-star hotel, but it is definitely the best 3-star hotel we stayed in thus far! Checking-in was a breeze, had no issues at all. ROOM The room is gorgeous! It is an open floor plan, but you are going to be mesmerized and in love with this place! I definitely want to go back at some point! Everything was so well lit. I loved the open floor plan bathroom. The sliding door to the toilet was chefs kiss! You wouldn't have even known it was there. And there's a mirror on the sliding door! There's also a floor to ceiling interesting mirror on the opposite wall. Stunning! The wallpaper options were interesting and eccentric to say the least, but we still enjoyed the vibe. It was very hipster I guess you could say. Definitely a vibe! The bed was comfortable as well! All the pillows were nice and soft, overall the whole stay and date night was a hit! And because we had such a good time with the first date night, we decided to keep doing it! Pun not intended. The TV and remote also worked well! We were able to log into my Netflix account with ease, and it logs out on its own as well! FOOD There is no breakfast included, but there are plenty of restaurants around the area to go grab a bite to eat. We actually took a quick walk in the evening, after checking in, to grab dinner at Outback Steakhouse. But there's so many other places, Nrgzie a juice smoothie shop, Chipotle, Carnegie Diner & Cafe, as well as others. If you don't like anything in the area, the American Dream Mall has many options to choose from as well! OVERALL This hotel is right near many other hotels in the area. The American Dream Mall is nearby, but it is not in walking distance. You either need to drive, get an Uber/Lyft or take a shuttle over if the hotel provides shuttle service. A lot of the surrounding hotels do provide a shuttle service, so just check in with the front desk. My man and I love to snowboard before date night, that's why I mention American Dream Mall quite often. That's our shared hobby and how we met. This area is very clean and safe, so you can rest assured and have a great stay! I know I sure did! Unfortunately I don't have many photos because we stayed here prior to me starting to Yelp, but I hope I come back and get some great photos eventually! Overall stunning place and great stay! All my first 5-star review on Yelp! I do not give 5-stars out lightly.
