Night time skyline of the city

What a great experience from check in to the beautiful room. City view was amazing, the king size bed was comfy and the room was clean. Love the decor as well. Highly recommend this hotel.

Disappointed with this Marriott Hotel. The room they gave us was awful. The bed spring was broken, the sink was ripping out of the wall and the paint is peeling. The room vent had a rattling noise. It's very strange that Marriott would call this an "autograph collection" hotel. The service was more or less not caring. The only good thing was the restaurant. Honestly this hotel makes me question why have loyalty to the Bonvoy program and switch to Hilton. I did address my concern and they apologized, but doesn't really remedy the situation. The room I stayed in was 747. Don't stay here if they assign it, ask for a different room. This hotel was an embarrassment to Marriot brand. Google is not letting me upload photos but will try again.

We found this hotel on the Bonvoy app because we were looking for a place to stay for our anniversary weekend. Usually we stay in the city but prices were so expensive. This hotel was perfect because of its location. It is literally steps from the Port Imperial ferry and then 9 mins to Manhattan. We got upgraded to a room with a view because we told them we were celebrating our anniversary. The hotel is very nicely decorated and our room was nice. Modern and very tasteful. We would stay again.

I had a Marriott anniversary night to use and wanting something special. We were traveling for not the best of reasons and I needed a change of pace, not a typical off the highway type of Courtyard etc. In steps Envue, which did not disappoint in any sort of way. Sure, the shower gel was empty but they had a replacement within minutes at the door. Everything from the professional gentleman who checked us in, to teaching me how to quickly use the card in the elevator, on down to the gorgeous views both inside the lobby as well as the outdoor deck, this place is impeccable and you don't need to pay Manhattan prices for luxury. We did not end up with the view room because those with two beds are all on the opposite side, which was fine and I understand. Even so, if I wanted to see the city, I could easily head on down to the bar area and front desk. The room itself is fairly spacious for NYC area, beautiful accent lighting above the beds. It also came with a safe and small fridge. The infinity pool was immaculate and looked to be rarely used. I felt kind of bad at first bringing my two young kids but since nobody was using things like this, they had a blast with just their parents and nobody else. Parking was easy and fairly cheap at $22 right around the corner for a full day. The ferry service to Manhattan literally across the street is an added bonus for those that want to get into the city quickly. I can't recommend this place enough and hope I have a room credit again in the future to do a little more exploring of the area.

Loved our stay here. We took the 8 minute ferry in from NYC (39th street) and it was a perfect mini staycation and escape from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. The views are wonderful. Beautiful hotel. Rooftop restaurant is good. Great service. Try to get the continental breakfast. For now it is 7a-10a. Pretty good selection to choose from - toast, eggs, ham, fruit etc. When we called the front desk they were always friendly and responsive. If you have small children, there is a small park nearby with swings and a slide. No room service but there is a Dunkin' Donuts next door if you want to get some water and a few snacks to stash in the room. We totally forgot about the pool and gym on the 7th floor but will check it out next time. We will be back Envue!

Great spot. So stylish and well located. Incredible bed. Jaw dropping views from our room and lobby. Great coffee and mini bar. Breakfast was included in our package but was very average and slow. Bartenders were fantastic as was outdoor area. Parking was $22 a night and in building. Ferry right across the street meant you could be in NYC midtown in 10 minutes.

My #1 fav place to stay for a nyc skyline view, great beds, rooms are huge, food is yummy, great location, transportation options, parking, you can do laundry at the sister location Residence Inn, service wasn't the best but I believe it's due to Covid labor demand/supply issues. And a full bar, plus outdoor seating. This place has everything you need and more. Highly recommend it!!!

1 Star -- Extremely Disappointing for a $500+ Per Night Hotel…read more I recently stayed at the W Hoboken, and unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing--especially considering the $500+ per night price point. The location is excellent, but the service, facilities, and overall level of hospitality simply did not match what I would expect from a W Hotel at this price. The service throughout my stay was very inconsistent. The restaurant was disappointing. The only server who stood out positively was Destiny, who was friendly, attentive, professional, and actually seemed to understand what good hospitality looks like. She was the exception. Unfortunately, most of the other restaurant staff appeared very young and inexperienced, and I did not get the impression that they had received adequate server or hospitality training. Basic requests, such as condiments, involved surprisingly long wait times. There was also very little warmth or engagement from the staff. Destiny was essentially the only person who consistently smiled and made an effort to provide genuine customer service. The front desk experience was also disappointing. Staff frequently did not maintain eye contact and at times appeared nervous, uncomfortable, or unsure when interacting with guests. Again, this is simply not the level of confidence, professionalism, and hospitality I expect from a hotel charging $500+ per night. For a hotel at this price point, I expect a substantially higher standard of service, attention to detail, professionalism, and hospitality. I have traveled extensively throughout the United States and around the world and have stayed at many luxury hotels. In my experience, the W Hoboken was the worst value I have encountered in the $500+ per night hotel category. The price creates an expectation of a certain level of luxury and service, and the actual experience fell far short of that expectation. The W Hoboken could learn a great deal from luxury brands such as Ritz-Carlton and Waldorf Astoria, particularly when it comes to hotel management, employee training, customer service, and restaurant operations. I hope management takes this feedback seriously. The property has a great location and could be a much better luxury experience, but at $500+ per night, the service needs to be dramatically improved to justify the price.

There is a micromanaging attendant that reprimands you for basically breathing. If you have kids, she'll yell at them to get out. She scolded me for having bags (which was to hold the dirty laundry, not to steal food). Then, she proceeds to ask everyone for their room key. Excuse me? Stop everyone at the entrance then. Why are you giving us access to the food and then treating us like crinimals? The food is all prepacked. Jimmy Dean, Danone, none of it is made in house. There was bright green gum stuck to the shower room. Sure, this place is cheaper than staying in Manhattan but damn, the staff here could use a lesson in people skills. Unfortunately, this experience completely changed my opinion of the company. We originally had a reservation for three nights starting the following day. We arrived at the hotel around 7:30 PM and asked the front desk if they had a room available because we wanted to check in a day early. The gentleman at the front desk said they did and told me he needed to contact his manager to figure out how to change the reservation and what the price would be. I honestly didn't understand why this was such a complicated process, but I waited. About 15-20 minutes later, he came back and told me it would be around $1,100 for the next three nights. I was shocked because I was literally looking at the Best Western website with this location on my phone and saw the room advertised for $159 per night. I showed him the price, and once again he said he needed to speak with his manager. Another 15 minutes went by. He came back and said his manager could do it for $900 and something. Again, I showed him the advertised online rate and explained that I didn't understand why I was being quoted hundreds of dollars more than the rate publicly advertised on Best Western's own website. Once again, he went into the back to speak with his manager. At this point, I called Best Western customer service myself. I explained exactly what was happening, and the representative looked up the website and confirmed that the $159 rate was showing online. I asked if he could speak directly with the hotel, but he said he couldn't do anything about it and transferred me to another customer service representative. That's when things got even worse. I explained the entire situation again. Instead of trying to help resolve the problem, the representative told me that because I had previously agreed to a $280 rate, I had to pay that amount. The conversation became so heated that he was yelling at me. I sincerely hope Best Western reviews that call because the way I was treated was completely unacceptable. I was standing at the front desk while this was happening, and even the hotel employee was shaking his head at how embarrassing the conversation had become. The guy on the phone was so unprofessional. At that point, I told the front desk employee that I wanted to cancel everything. I no longer wanted to spend another dime with Best Western. I was then told I was "too late" to cancel, with the guy on the phone because it was on speaker phone, I hung up the phone because the conversation was going nowhere. My account at the hotel was then apparently locked by that person and the price being quoted somehow went even higher. Again, this sounds unbelievable, but this is exactly what happened. After another 20-30 minutes, the account was finally unlocked. The front desk employee spoke with his manager again and came back with yet another price that was still nowhere close to the advertised online rate. Eventually, the manager offered us two choices: receive a refund of our deposit and leave, or stay that night at the advertised $159 rate and figure out the rest of the stay the following day. By this point, it was after 9 PM. We were exhausted from traveling, so I agreed to stay that night at the $159 rate. Then I was told they were going to charge me $900 and something and that the manager would reimburse me the following day. At that point, I had enough. I canceled the stay and decided I would rather find somewhere else than continue dealing with this situation. What should have been a simple conversation -- "We'd like to check in one day early; do you have a room available?" -- turned into hours of confusion, multiple trips to the back office, conflicting prices, a customer service representative yelling at me, and an experience that left me completely frustrated and embarrassed.

The greatest treat was Roxanne, the evening manager, who welcomed me like a family member, and then texted later to make sure everything was going well. The day manager texted me during the day as well, so I always felt like they were looking out for me. That neighborhood is well known to me, and I feel like you know going in, you're not there to spend time on the block. The walk to and from the Newport Path Station is easy breezy and on wide streets with stoplights. The walk to the Hoboken Path is "fun," you walk under train tracks, and up along the train yard, but it's not something you'd want to do if you're not adventuresome. There's a Chinese take-out directly on the corner, and there's a really nice grocery store across the street in a plaza with a Popeye's, a Papa John's, and that plaza is right behind a Target, so it's easy to pick stuff up on your way to your room, or on the way out the door for touring. And with the IHG membership bonuses, you're on your way to free stays and discount prices if you're ritually traveling for business on at least two-night stays. Your mileage may vary, but I personally can't recommend this hotel more highly.
