    Dessert table, so cute

I just had my baby shower here and it was just perfect! I worked with Franca and she was beyond helpful. She helped from beginning to end, corresponding and working with me with planning, decorating and pretty much every single detail. It was obvious she cared and did everything with love and genuine care (like it was her own party!!). Decorations were beautiful and every time a guest walked it, they would say nice everything looked. There are 4 tv's, and I did a slide show which was a nice touch for the baby shower. The day of the event Franca and her crew made everything easy for me. They served drinks, helped with my guestbook, took care of food and were very professional. At the end of the event, they packed everything up and loaded the cars. I am so happy about the event, I'm trying to think of another reason to have an event there!

FRANCA! Simply stated, she is the one to work with when planning your event at Venue 845. The level of service and professionalism are remarkable. As an events professional, I was impressed at the attention to detail and cleanliness; this venue is such a welcome addition to Jersey City - just a quick walk from the PATH station. My fiance hosted a 50-person surprise birthday party in May 2017. The existing decor and multi-level access enabled guests to have cocktails in the front, dinner in the main room and gaming at the top level. This made it a unique and unexpected quality that wowed attendees. I will be booking other receptions at this space. You should, too!

My cousin had her 20th wedding anniversary here and it was great. The staff was extremely nice and the decorations were beautiful. The place looks just like the pics. I would have a party here.

I just had my daughter graduation party. from the first time I meet Franca the venue manager I knew right then I was in good hands. She warm, sweet and knowledgeable. And very into every little details that can enhance your experience. The rest of the staff are incredible I'm so glad I stumbled across this place. Needless to say I'm extremely happy with the outcome. Looking forward on hosting a party here again.

I hosted my baby shower at Venue 845 and it was amazing! We had so many compliments on the venue & the staff. The venue is perfect with the three rooms they offer; one to set up all the food, another for dining & the upstairs with entertainment for kids with the Playstation and Xbox. The best part about having my event here was Franca. She is unbelievable!! She went above and beyond to help us with everything; from the food, to decor, the layout and much more! Every step of the way she was there to help and she immediately makes you feel like family. The staff she has to help serve drinks & food were also incredible and a huge help! I will most definitely be hosting me next event here and will always recommend this venue to everyone I know!

I had my baby shower here and I'm so happy I did! Reshma and Franca are truly amazing and super helpful. The venue itself is wonderful. With 2 rooms on the first floor and a lounge area on the second floor equipped with flat screen tvs, Xbox and play stations systems. This venue can definitely accommodate any event. I can't wait to host another event here again!!!

My experience working with Franca at Venue845 was amazing. I planned a 30th gatsby themed party and made and brought most of the decor myself. I was able to decorate however I wanted and Franca helped pick up whatever supplies I needed. During the party she and the servers were kind and respectful to my guests and everything went ridiculously smoothly. Franca is there for you the whole time and made me feel very at ease through the whole process. The venue itself is simple but elegant and my guests were incredibly impressed with the space and service. I would plan any party here !

If it's a sold out / crowded show I can definitely see how this is overwhelming for a small child. If you have a child under 5 I'd say to avoid, especially since they can't really see the stage unless you pick them up. Another huge disappointment was that Taylor Swift was not dressed up. When we saw this show at Starland Ballroom Taylor was in costume. At White Eagle the singer was just wearing a black Rock and Roll Playhouse tee shirt. I think they could've had a lot more fun with this and the kids would've been excited. For a sold out show they also could have also kept both sides of the bars open. Lines were crazy long. And for the kids drink on special they should probably consider offering a lid with the cup. It felt like miss after miss for a 'kid friendly' event, so we probably wouldn't head back here for a Rock and Roll Playhouse, or at least I'd wait until my kids were older.

We were able to get a table for two right in front of the glass windows, which was nice. There are limited Yelp reviews about the venue, so I wasn't able to do much research on the menu and food ahead of time. I've never been to a wedding at Liberty House, so I had never stepped foot in the space before. It's very big, several different rooms and it's very bright, with floor-to-ceiling glass windows that provide beautiful views of the NYC skyline. When we were first seated, we were given brunch food menus, brunch drink menus, and the cocktail/wine menu. Five minutes later when the server came by, he took away our brunch cocktail menu and said we had to order off the main drink menu. I didn't get a chance to look at the brunch drink menu closely before he took it away. I suspect this was so they could price drinks at a premium given it was a holiday (even though the server denied that when I asked him). I had two Hugo spritzes at $15 each, which felt very pricey. My husband's espresso martini was only $14, and usually those are more. I can't find the brunch drink menu online anywhere, so I have no way to see what drinks are on it and double-check the pricing. Service was slow. Drinks took a long time to come out. To start, we shared the Caesar salad, which came out in like 60 seconds. It says it comes with pita zattar croutons; it literally had two small pita crisps. Kinda pathetic. For entrees, I had the Nutella French toast and my husband had the steak and eggs. The French toast said it had bananas, but there was no banana to be found- just strawberries and blueberries. It was tasty, though. My husband enjoyed his steak and eggs; however, for $45, I'd expect a little more meat. They also put out a complimentary bread basket to start: a couple mini muffins and some toasted, stale bread. Overall, the food was mediocre. They have a parking lot; however, make sure not to scan the QR code in the parking lot and immediately pay. Wait until you get inside the venue and scan the QR code at the host's station so it's free/validated. My husband made the mistake of paying right away, and there was no way to get our $8 back. I tried to call the venue ahead of time to ask about the parking situation, but they have a stupid bot answering the phones and it wasn't transferring me to a human. I don't know that we'll be back anytime soon. the experience was fine, but nothing I need to return for.

These friends had each been divorced for many years and found each other...literally as next door neighbors about ten years ago. They decided it was important to them at this point to make their partnership legal and so they had a lovely wedding ceremony at City Hall and were married by the mayor of Jersey City. The reception was later held at this beautiful historic manse. Fortunately even though Covid was still in our midst things were not as bad then as they are now; the rooms were spacious and had enough room to practice appropriate social distancing. The architectural details abounded in this place. It seems to be a hidden jewel amidst the astonishing number of modern high rises that are popping up throughout Jersey City which is seeing a renaissance of sorts. It's a perfect venue for weddings, parties, music recitals and whatever you might need to rent a pretty space for. You can bring in your own caterers and bartenders as our friends did for this wedding. You are a Path subway line away from lower Manhattan. Suddenly there are quite a few reasons to venture out of Manhattan and over to Jersey City to experience. Who woulda thunk?

However, the way the billing was handled was extremely disappointing and honestly very misleading. I was told that adding two additional guests would not be a problem, and at no point was I informed there would be an extra $150 charge. To only bring this up after the event is unacceptable. That kind of information should be clearly communicated at the time the request is made so customers can make an informed decision. What made matters worse was receiving a final email stating that my deposit would be kept because of those additional guests. That is completely unprofessional. I paid $2,772.20 for a pizza-making class for 17 kids and 16 adults, and in reality, only 15 kids and 15 adults attended--and only about 8 adults even participated in making pizza. There were no additional materials or accommodations that would justify keeping the deposit. While the event itself was a success, the lack of transparency and the decision to keep the deposit left a very bad impression. Customers should not have to deal with surprise charges after the fact.

The format is basically like the show Chopped - two chefs (with the help of a sous chef) must prepare 3 different courses (app/entrée/dessert) using the ingredients from a mystery basket and are judged by the group. They have a certain amount of time for each round/course, and each mystery basket ingredient must only be used once over the 3 dishes. Each event is capped at 20 people - 12 seats at the counter and 8 seated at two tables behind the counter. Counter seats are only $10 more, however if the counter is sold out, it's totally fine to have a table seat. They encourage you to stand up and walk around, engaging with the chefs as they are preparing each dish. They have tasting sticks and allow you to taste sauces as they are being prepared. It's an intimate setting and it's a great way to learn about their techniques and the various ingredients. Watching them plate 20 dishes is incredible. All the food they prepared was delicious - there wasn't a bad dish. It's basically like having two full 3-course meals however you can take home any leftovers if you can't finish it all. You don't know the mystery ingredients ahead of time and they can't accommodate any allergies/preferences so that's something to keep in mind if you have allergies or are a picky eater. Our main proteins were chicken and steak so no issues there. At the end of each course, you have a score card where you rate each dish on presentation, creativity, and taste. At the end of the final round, we went around the room and told the chefs who we think should be crowned the night's winner. No getting out of telling them to their faces who was your favorite! It was a really fun night. The hostess was great and kept everyone pumped up and made sure our carafe of water was full. Both chef Ed and Guillermo were really cool and friendly - it was great to chat with them. They are amazing chefs. Some tips: don't be late! Don't dress too warmly especially if you are seated at the counter - it gets warm if you are near the stove burners. Bring wine - they have ice buckets for white/rosé. Book as soon as the calendar goes live if you want a counter seat. You are going to smell like oil/fried food when you leave... so ladies, don't get a fresh blowout ahead of time!
