The receptionist couldn't find my booking and never looked up at me for more information. She just said "there is no booking here, step aside." When I didn't "step aside," I quickly gave her the confirmation number, she then found my reservation and started asking me security questions. When the res had the wrong address on it, she told me once again to "step aside" without looking up. Not even a glance. I called customer service from the lobby and when I got someone to help me, I got back in line, with the customer service representative on the phone to talk to the receptionist. When it was my turn (again), I told her that I had customer service on the phone to confirm my reservation/information and she refused to talk to them. What? Wait... it's Customer Service for the Marriott. Nope. She wouldn't do it. Then, the customer service rep said that he would call the hotel directly and speak with someone else. After about 20 minutes or so, a 2nd woman came out to see me and said, "Can I help you?" Umm.... Do I have to go through this all again? Yes is the answer to that. Another 20 minutes later, lady #2 comes out with the most inauthentic apology I've ever heard and handed me a bottle of wine. It was the worst. I paid over $400 for one night in that hotel. I will say that I picked that place because it was a Marriott - my preferred place to stay. I do believe that this is not the norm for that company. I just wish those women have found new jobs. They were clearly unhappy being there.

Just a few minutes away by subway to Downtown, West Village, and all the other touristy places while you get to enjoy an enormous room with a view of actual live trees! The bed is terrific and the neighborhood is full of delightful restaurants and bars like Enoteca Harlem and Angel of Harlem. Rene is a delightful host and you'll get the experience of a lifetime staying in a piece of history! We stayed on the 3rd floor which I recommend, it is quiet and worth the walk up the stairs.

There was major construction work being done next door but this was explained to us when we made the reservation and work stopped early enough in the afternoon to be an issue. Our room was spacious and quiet with antiques and a beautiful 4 poster bed. There were trees outside of our large windows and jazz playing on the radio. Although we knew that there was only one bathroom to be shared on our floor when we made our reservations, there was no problem with availability and we had a sink in our room. The shower was antique so water pressure was as strong as expected for fixtures that old. The only issue we had was the smell and scratchiness of the towels and wash cloths. It was almost as if they hadn't been washed between guests. The soaps seemed old and were pretty used up.

PREVIOUS REVIEW Located on busy street in Harlem, it turned out to be a great place to stay - given that we were looking for that specific location. The lobby is on the firth floor, and arriving on a busy evening seems like entering a major party hall. Lots of people eating, talking, loud music and somehow a great atmosphere. The room itself was decent with great view onto Central Park, even though amenities were a bit scarce.

We were seated at a lovely corner table by the window overlooking 125th St. It was Valentine's Day so all the tables were candle lit with roses on them, which added a nice touch to the atmosphere. The service was great. Everything came on time, nice and hot. We ordered fried calamari appetizers and then the oxtails and red snapper entrées, the food was delicious, It was hot and very tasty. We also ordered cocktails as well, which were on point , potent and delicious. later in the evening there was a DJ who played nice, house music , which added to the buzzing atmosphere , we will definitely be going back.

Great location and very walkable in the neighborhood. Cons: The room was... alright. I've stayed in many Aloft properties so I know what to expect (it's a limited service brand and that's fine!) The shower didn't have great water pressure, nor was there anywhere to put my own products (provided shampoo, body wash and conditioner in dispensers on the wall). Thankfully it was a quick stay, but not sure I would have been able to give my hair a good wash in this. The AC blew right on my bed. If I had it off, the room was stuffy. But blowing on me directly was uncomfortable, too. Net net, it served the purpose, but I didn't love it.

Everyone was so friendly and the snacks at the front desk are decently priced. I also really enjoyed the community events. They held Saturday night wonderful music and fun dancing. The bartender also makes great drinks. the only con I would say is that this room is very Average. There's not much to it. What I stay here again yes, the price was very fair and again the subway ride to the marathon or anything in the Manhattan lower area was very close.

From the…read moremoment we arrived, it felt less like checking into a hotel and more like family welcoming us into a beautifully curated home in the heart of the city. Traveling during the holidays can be hectic, but the staff at the Park Hyatt made everything feel effortless. Every interaction -- from the front desk to housekeeping to the concierge -- was filled with genuine kindness, patience, and warmth. It was clear they weren't just doing their jobs; they truly cared about making our holiday special. The hotel itself is stunningly elegant yet incredibly comfortable. After long walks through Central Park, returning to our room felt like stepping into a peaceful retreat. The spaciousness, thoughtful details, and quiet luxury made it easy for our family to relax, laugh, and simply be together -- which is what the holidays are really about. We had our first breakfast in New York at the hotel's "the living room" which is located in the lobby. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful with modern decor and stunning 30 foot ceilings. We arrived at 7am as the restaurant just opened and Kamil greeted us with a warm genuine smile. We've stayed at 5 different Park Hyatts in the past 5 years (Kyoto being the most recent) and no one has made us feel as special as Kamil. He has the unique gift of hospitality. He went out of his way to treat us like family and made us feel very special. All of his small gestures, friendly smiles, and thoughtful attention to detail, turned simple moments into special memories. During a season meant for connection and joy, the Park Hyatt delivered both in abundance. Spending Christmas in New York is always special, but spending it at the Park Hyatt New York elevated the experience beyond anything we could have imagined. Our days were spent with full hearts, lasting memories, and deep gratitude for a team that understands true hospitality. This is a place we will return to -- not just for the luxury, but for the people who made us feel so genuinely at home during the most meaningful time of year.
