I recently stayed at the Radio Hotel for 22 nights while traveling for work. The hotel has a modern, colorful design. Everything was clean, well maintained, and the rooms were comfortable. This is also a great option if you're looking to save money while visiting New York City. Both the bus and the train are within about a five-minute walk, making it easy to get into Manhattan without paying Manhattan hotel prices. One perk I really enjoyed was that the hotel gives you a card for a complimentary drink each day, which you can redeem at the front desk or at the restaurant downstairs. Almost every morning I grabbed a coffee before heading to work. I want to give a special shoutout to the staff. I hope I'm spelling their names correctly Larry, Nabras, and Nicky. They truly made my 22-night stay feel like home. They were always friendly, welcoming, and willing to help with anything I needed. Employees like them are what turn a good stay into a great one. My only suggestion would be to add a dresser or more shelving in the rooms. During a longer stay, it would have been nice to unpack and organize my clothes instead of living out of a suitcase. The only real downside for me was the noise. As a 50-year-old traveling for work, getting a good night's sleep is important. I could hear people in the neighboring rooms, guests walking above me, and music from events on the patio. My room was on the 4th floor facing the outside, so it's possible a higher floor or a room on the opposite side would have been quieter. If you're a light sleeper and plan on staying for multiple nights, I'd recommend bringing a pair of earplugs just in case. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would absolutely consider staying here again. The excellent staff, convenient location, and modern hotel made the positives outweigh the negatives. Everything went well!!! I went in with a group of 10; each of them had nothing negative to say other than the bathroom in the cellar! We stepped in immediately greeted and seated. Maria attended to us and was awesome and on point!!! We had lots of changes and details given 3 guests who had specific dietary needs. All of our appetizers; empanadas, guacamoles, frituras, chicharrones- burrata- SCRUMPTIOS!!! No complaints!! And generous plates Entrees; steak, branzino, pasta, chicken- all gone!!! My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights, and it was everything we expected and wanted. The hotel is unique and lively. The service was great and everyone was very friendly. We loved that it did not feel commercial. The neighborhood is lively and diverse, and it really helped that the 1 train was only a block away and it took us everywhere we needed to go without changing trains. Everything we needed was within 1 block radius of the Hotel. The restaurant on the premises was excellent. Our compliments to the chef and all the staff. Conveniently located within walking distance of The Armory at a great rate. We stayed here for Nike Indoor Nationals and had a great experience. Front desk team was super friendly, explained all of the amenities, and gave us 2 complimentary drink coupons for each night's stay. The coupons were good for a drink from the cooler in the lobby, or a select drink from the hotel bar (sangria, margarita, or beer). Our room was clean, and had everything we needed for our short stay. The gym is a little small (weights, 1 elliptical, 1 treadmill, 1 bike) but there is enough to get a workout in. We were very pleasantly surprised by how cool the hotel was! Entering, you realize that it is very stylish from the lobby area to the rooms. The room we rented was a large studio with a queen bed and a pull-out sofa. You could smell how clean it was upon entering the room. It is bare bones but that's exactly what we needed. It was so interesting that the shower was right there in the room and you could see that someone was in there but you couldn't see them. It worked great. The front desk staff recommended a local restaurant for us and it was amazing! No complaints whatsoever. I would highly recommend the hotel for anyone staying in the area. read more

Hey friends! I decided to stay a couple extra days after a work trip in Queens. I chose this hotel because of the price and location not so much the reviews. Check-in was easy. Customer service was friendly. I was informed of the $150 deposit & paid with my card. I was given two "free" drink vouchers for the bar located inside the hotel. My room was clean and well stocked upon entering. It is a very compact hotel room, which I knew before booking. If you're looking for storage and space, this is not the hotel for you. The room features a pull out desk which I thought was unique. There's a classic radio on the desk, on theme with the hotel, pretty cool. The bed is up against the window, which I loved. The sink is an unbearable low height. If you're above 5'5 you'll be uncomfortable using the sink. The sink also doesn't project far out, so when using it water runs everywhere. The shower is nice. The glass is not frosted, it is see through; so be mindful who you book a room with lol. Though the shower is nice, there was a musty smell. Not sure if it was the drain or the walls from lack of ventilation. There definitely is a pungent weed smell throughout the hallways. Also, the walls are THIN. Check-out was easy. I was also able to check my luggage after checkout and pick them up after a day of sightseeing. My deposit took 30 days to be returned. I noticed that about $42 was missing from my deposit. After speaking with the hotel, I learned there is a $21 "amenities fee." I asked what amenities are included; the restaurant, the gym and the cocktail vouchers. Upon check-in, I was told the vouchers were complimentary. In what world do you pay for something complimentary?! An amenities fee for a hotel that doesn't even have a pool is crazy. The hotel has a very modern look which was nice for the price. The beds were clean and decent but there was no storage space what so ever. No drawers or closets. The bathrooms didn't have much counter space so doing make-up was a bit challenging. The room could use a few touch ups. The area felt safe for me and I did love the local coffee shops and restaurants near by. The subway train was a short walk which was also great if you want to get into the city. Unfortunately during my stay I came back to my hotel room smelling like cigarettes as someone on my floor was smoking. We stayed here for three nights while visiting my in laws in Washington Heights. The rooms are small but I guess that's just NYC. This means there's limited space to lay open your suitcases on the floor. We had two queen beds and each one had a large drawer underneath but those are the only drawers. A carry on sized suitcase did fit by the window. The bathroom also has limited counter space and it was hard to wash my face because of the shelf right above it. We stayed on a high floor to limit the noise from the street since we had two small children and we didn't get much street noise. We could hear people in the hallway but nothing a white noise machine can't handle. There is also a coffee bar/pastry spot next to the check in desk which was convenient. We would stay there given the convenient location (two blocks from the subway station). read more

We would never stay again - there is a VERY dishonest policy of adding the tip already to the restaurant bill and NOT telling the unsuspecting customer that the 18 percent tip was already on the total bill - and their hope is that you tip twice. We tipped twice - and only noticed it the next day. This "automatic tipping" is only done with large parties and announced before, but NEVER with a private bar bill for two people. Shameful and deceitful practice, and we do not actually want our $22 back from the extra tip. More importantly, the hotel should learn that a bad reputation of dishonesty is significantly worse that the $22 gained them. We stayed at the Radio Hotel for family vacation in NYC. We paid for the double bed room which was extremely small. There was barely enough room for our luggage for our family of four. We also noticed a blood stain on our sheets which was very disgusting. I called the front desk and they bought replacement sheets but the idea of sleeping under someone else's bodily fluids is disturbing. The checkin process was very smooth. There was an amenity charge that they started but explained that it was optional for me since I booked before it was implemented so that was good for them to explain that to me. The room was really nice, small but for New York and the price, It worked! It was very clean, housekeeping was on it and when our ac went out the second night maintenance was on the job quick then they gave us an upgraded room with no problem. The shower gels were bath and body works, not the generic kind lol They had snacks and lattes, etc for purchase at the front desk and a restaurant, Jaleo that was very delicious. At around 4:45am today while we were asleep there was a random man with no bag that walked into the room I was staying in. He was a pretty large man and didn't say anything. Luckily I was there with my partner who yelled at him and scared him away. Still saying nothing, he backed out of the room. WEIRD. We called the front desk and they DID NOT answer. My partner went downstairs and spoke to the front desk manager and they stated that the man came downstairs and let him know that his key opened the door for the wrong room. He found the engineer and walked over to the room that the man was staying in and tried a key on it and it unlocked but he didn't open the door or knock or alert anyone staying in that room that there would be a test??? Then he came to our door and used the same key and it unlocked as well. Not too sure what that was supposed to prove exactly other than their key system being unsafe. During check out I brought up the weird situation to the front desk staff and mentioned that I felt unsafe and in danger, especially with the uptown's history of trafficking and the fact that the hotel is right off of the GWB. The woman didn't say much but offered us a refund for one of the nights. She also mentioned that there was suddenly NO RECORD of the wrong key being used in our door??????? She only made that statement when I mentioned human trafficking even thought the overnight staff said himself the man came down and asked for a new key because he walked into the wrong room. This was as if to say we were lying and made the entire story up!!! Which made me even more upset. I felt like there was a lack of shock or urgency with the staff which to me felt EXTREMELY dangerous and suspicious and my partner agreed. We asked the engineer (a different one) to check the key records for our room and the other room, and when he brought back the print out, there was no record of a key being used on our room at 4:45am. I asked for a copy of the key swipes during our stay and he said no. Then we asked for the manager and they were nowhere to be found. We were told they'd either be in at 9am or on Monday. Imagine, a hotel with no manager or a staff that isn't sure when they'll be in. We are reporting everything to the police and will be requesting video footage of the hallway, etc. I just keep thinking what would've happened if I, a woman, was there by myself and didn't have another large man to scare that random person away. I do not want this to happen to the wrong person and end up turning into something that we possibly could've prevented. The hotel staff is suspicious and the stay is UNSAFE. We will never stay here again and we will get to the bottom of this because NOTHING IS ADDING UP. read more

Right in the thick of Washington Heights and on the 1 line there's a colorful hotel that's clean, and secure. The elevator needs a hotel key to work. The restaurants are Dominican, and they seem delicious. My room is compact and clean with a dark interior. The bed is comfortable, and you can stream your own apps on their TV. My room is perfect for a solo traveler, but too small for two people. It seems like there were rooms aplenty since they asked me which floor I preferred, but I wasn't upgraded. By the check in area there's a little store area to buy snacks, and there are people using their computers in a small sitting area in the lobby. If you're here to see the sights, this is probably not a good location for you, but the price is right if you don't mind riding the subways. read more

I'd rather pay for my own drinks outright than be surreptitiously charged for "complementary drinks", then be given a restricted choice of beer, sangria, or a weak cocktail. We came here because it had the best cost vs ratings on the travel sites while visiting NYC for a track meet at the Armory. It's a cute, Dominican flavored boutique hotel in the heights. The neighborhood is not for everyone, especially if you're expecting Manhattan or going to be walking around at night and it's not a quiet neighborhood, so if that's not an issue... Rooms are smallish, but thoughtfully appointed. Music playing from the cool little stereo clock radio when you come into the room. Big TV on the wall. Little safe by the bed. Fold down desk and chair between beds. A mini fridge in the room. Nice showerhead and good hot water and pressure. Bright, crazy bathrooms. Definitely fun. So much fun that housekeeping apparently missed the handprint on the glass from the previous guests getting down in the shower. Beds, bedding and pillows were very comfortable. Climate controls worked spectacularly well. Lights all over the place, some with hard to find controls. On the minus side: No closet space and the sink setup sucks. No counter or shelf space and the sink and faucet set up sucks as well. Toilet was a little weak, and didn't flush well. There is a nice, Dominican themed restaurant with very good, but pricey food on site and breakfast for $25 in the AM. Staff was reasonably friendly. If you need a room in the vicinity for one or maybe two nights, you could do a lot worse for a lot more money than the Radio. read more

General The hotel is lovely. The lobby is inviting and the restaurant is top notch. They have great coffee at the front desk, but I could not get an espresso drink at night. They have enough snacks to carry you through, although most snacks had dairy so bring your own for dairy allergies. There is a good space for safe car drop offs out front. There are no ice machines so you request (small) cups of ice at the desk. Parking The parking situation is sad. By 5 pm the parking garage onsite was full. I told them I was staying at the hotel and they accepted my car in a panic. It was an suv and I expected this to be charged to my room (it's extra) but they make you pay the extra at the garage. Basically there is no communication with the hotel. They overbooked even though the hotel knew I was using valet and it was included in my costs. It was terrifying for someone unfamiliar with the area. They say they have self parking now. They do not. It does not exist. Every street area is filled. The room. We were in an accessible suite with three people. The room was clean and spacious for a wheelchair. They kept it clean. It had great ports for our devices and plenty of convenient plugs. The bed and pillows were comfy. The pull out couch was comfortable and did not hinder the accessibility. The shower was nicely set for people with disabilities. Make sure the shower is at an accessible height before you need it. You may need help. Temperature controls were great. There was no closet. Two hangers on a small rack. It was entirely inadequate. The work table had a chair that was unusable. No one would fit under the table. The floor is polished cement so you cannot wear socks without rubber bottoms. We could not seem to get extra towels. We asked twice. We had two towels, two hand towels, and two washcloths for three people. Then they took a hand towel and washcloth night one without replacing them. Highly inconvenient. If you get dropped off, plan ahead for needs, and stay on top of housekeeping this hotel was fine. Of course, you are on a city street so expect the nights to be a little disrupted with beeping, train horns and sirens. But overall I would stay again if I didn't need a car with me. read more

My wife and I stayed at the Radio Hotel in December of 2025. Our room was very small but hey it's New York. On our second day at the hotel the second floor, which we were on, flooded. The hotel put about ten fans in the hallway to dry the carpeting. The fans were on very late the first night and kept us awake. The flood apparently knocked out the cable television for the room. We called the front desk and complained but no one ever came to fix it. The cable was out the remaining three days of our stay. The last day of our trip we left in the morning and didn't return until late at night. When we returned that night, the door to our room was ajar and we walked right in without a key. Fortunately nothing was taken and no one was in our room. The day we checked out we asked to speak to a manager but the employee told us they weren't available. We explained our concerns and we were offered a 15% discount on one of our days stay. We booked the room on Black Friday and two of the days were discounted. The employee gave us a 15% discount off of one of the two discounted days. We paid a little over $2,000 for our stay and we were refunded $54. The thing is when we first got to the hotel we noticed that there were bumps in the carpet in the hallway. We didn't realize it at the time but afterwards we realized that the carpet was likely bumpy because the floor had flooded before. It's very likely that the hotel is aware of a problem but simply refuses to fix it. After we returned home, we sent an email to the manager about the situation. We didn't ask for anything specific but just questioned whether the staff had done enough. The manager responded with an email and apologized but didn't offer anything to make things right with us. We would not recommend that you stay at the Radio hotel. read more

Stayed here for the bar exam (20 min walking and 15 min Uber ride). Had breakfast downstairs every day and they had a variety of continental options available ($22/pp). Room was decent but concur with other reviewers (no hanging options and the sink was so tiny). But the bed was so comfy and cozy with a giant tv screen. Overall I enjoyed staying here. This is a wonderful hotel with true Dominican charm and the posh feel of New York City. It's quite literally the best of both worlds. The staff was super friendly and completamente bilingüe (completely bilingual), and that was important for us. The beds were great. Very clean and comfortable. The showers were good, hot water worked, soap and shampoo is available, mirror had good lighting, toilet worked. The room was clean and had a nice fragrance. From our window we could see the Washington Bridge and the Harlem River. The TV was also good to have in the room and there were plenty of channels to choose from. Check-in isn't until later in the afternoon, but they will safely store your bags for you so you can hit the city and make the most of your time. If you want to explore the local area, I would say that's up to you. The hotel is located in Washington Heights, yes, the same place where they filmed the movie. But, remember, this is a neighborhood, not a theme park. People live and work here and they may not appreciate random folks taking photos of their homes, cars, and kids. I don't think a few selfies in front of central locations would be so bad, but please afford the residents their privacy. To and from Lower Manhattan and/or Central Park, you can take the A train or the 1 train without changing lines. Also, the Yankee's stadium is less than 2 miles away from the hotel. It's in a great location. It's far enough away to be more affordable and less crowded than Lower Manhattan, but not so far away that the major sights of NYC are unattainable. Literally, my only complaint, is that the wall of the shower that faces towards the beds is frosted glass instead of just a solid wall. While this may be "sexy" for couples, it is not at all "sexy" when you're on vacation with your brother. I mean, I don't know you do things in your family, but this was unnecessarily awkward for us. You can't see details, thank God, but we weren't looking for details either. So, just wanted to throw that out there. Everything about the hotel was absolutely wonderful except for that. read more

THE PLACE IS HORRENDOUS I booked a stay at this hotel through VRBO. Stay was for Aug 1-Aug 2 2025. They charged an extra $75 deposit which they never returned.The stay was horrendous, the area unsafe, they did not provide ice buckets, so you were forced to purchase water from them. The room had no functional air-conditioning, it took me complaining twice in order to get them to change the room. There is NO parking on premises,as they advertised. I used the one they recommended which is connected to the building, I paid for the ALL DAY parking, and they took my money but refused to re-admit me due to no parking available after I returned from Broadway. I found myself parking my car 4 blocks away in the street. The halls are dim and dark, I felt as though I was in the middle of a "Scream" episode. No waste baskets in room, no clock, no desk, no chairs. Rooms cramps and dirty. Sheet had a stain, looked oily. Once they switched my room, I found the bathroom walls and floors were filthy, so I had to clean it. The TV streaming was not working. Today I find that not only did they not return the $75 deposit, they had the audacity to debit my card without authorization from me nor knowledge of why an additional $33.76. VRBO is ignoring everything that went wrong with this reservation, and The Radio Hotel is not offering any explanation for the additional charges, and they refused to give me a receipt when I checked out at 8am on August 2nd. read more

I'm in town for a bellydance event, and super excited to stay at this hotel! This is a really cool boutique hotel. I love the views from my room of the George Washington Bridge. The room that I stayed is small and compact, but again it's a boutique hotel, so, it is expected. The location is tough though because, there's very little parking because the side streets are residential. It's very very busy in this area. There is a lot of activity, foot traffic and vehicle traffic. We had to circle the area a few times before we actually found a parking spot on one of the side streets. The parking garage was full. It didn't seem like it ever let up either. Finally, the restaurant "Jalao" opens at "happy hour." So, I can't wait to see what the restaurant is like. The hotel decor is super fresh and cool! This place is a scam bait along with PRICELINE.COM. I called priceline.com looking for a hotel next to Empire State building in Manhattan. The sale person Alexa deceived me that this hotel is a few blocks away from Empire State building. I booked with her. Afterward, I checked google map and found out that it was in the Bronx at some180 street out in the boom dock at a bad neighborhood, which I never venture to. I tried to cancel a few minutes after, calling Priceline.com multiple times and days. All I got was a run around that they can't reach their partners and that they will call me back in 24 hours, they never did but was charged immediately. Till today I am still fighting this charge with my credit card company. Disgusting way to run a business with scam mentality and deception. DON'T USE THIS HOTEL AND PRICELINE.COM . Went with my family. Absolutely beautiful place to eat. Staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. The food was served hot and ready. We had guacamole and sushi tacos as appetizers. 10 out of 10 ! It set us up for the entrée. The main course was expected to live up to the apps. Our order included Rabo, Seafood pasta, Fried whole sea bass and the Fillet with coconut sauce. WONDERFUL-TASTEY- DELICIOUS. WOW !! The service staff was very kind in leading us to our room. BUT , the room reminds me of a closet or maybe a mid sized rv. There is no carpet which causes slipping after the shower. There is also no storage , night stands , iron , or microwave in the room which caused inconveniences and stress as to where we were storing our items. I had no room to put my suitcase causing my closet to explode all over the cold , rocky , grey floor. Also, my sink is in the bedroom? Along with the see through shower door that led out to the main "room" meaning I could not have anyone else in here while showering. We had a great nite at this sweet lil boutique hotel! It's n my neighborhood so I'm gonna support it

The big plus and minus here is location. I was headed home to DC for the holidays from New England. If you park in this hotel's garage, upon departure, you turn the corner at 180th and Amsterdam and then make a right turn and you're on the highway to the GWB. Super convenient if you are on a road trip and make NYC a stop. However, 180th is in "The Heights". It's almost at the northern end of Manhattan. GPS transit directions consistently told us it would take about an hour to travel downtown using the subway. (Use the 1 train but transfer to the express 2/3 at 96th Street and it won't take nearly as long.) Not the most cheerful neighborhood and definitely not the quietest. I was given a room on the 4th floor facing 180th Street. The street noise is very loud late into the night here. Lots of people hanging around on the streets fixing their cars, playing loud music, and shouting. Also, a lot of people use 180th to get to the GWB, so people riding by with enhanced bass sound systems. If you do stay here, please bring earplugs. This appears to be a recently renovated property, so everything was in new condition. It's the same kind of hotel as a CitizenM (although rooms are not quite so small), Arlo, Even, or Aloft. There is a shallow fridge but no microwave or iron in the room. Also, you have to kneel over the bed to raise and lower the curtains, which is kind of a pain. The blackout curtain doesn't cover the window to the edges. The lights in the room are on timers but the motion sensors don't face common areas in the room, so the lights were constantly turning off. Some of the light bulbs in the lamps needed replacement. Bed was fine and pillows were very good. Neighborhood has some restaurants but they close rather early. Nearby pizza place (something about Posh Pizza and Bar) had a sign on the door that they close at 11:00 PM on Saturdays but we got there at 10:30 PM and they were closed.) Front desk staff were okay. Cleaning staff was rude. I didn't try the restaurant or bar but both looked nice. I paid about $100 for one night with tax and then $35 for parking overnight - no in and out privileges. Worst hotel experience so far! Staff, specifically the front desk lady is rude and completely unprofessional. They're uncleanly, rude, play loud music through the night and overall a absolutely unsatisfactory and terrible experience even for the lowest standards. Do yourself a favor and don't come here! read more
