Lots of beers on draft and plenty more in bottles and cans. There's usually some kind of specials on drinks or whatever. Last time it was $5 Jack cocktails. The food menu is limited to chips and stuff. For sure it's a good place to get drunk on the cheap. It's just not open Sundays for some reason. That's the only bad thing.

For you folks with dogs, beer drinkers who drink beyond the basic beers, bubble drinkers (like me) and those that want to bring in their own food...this is your place. We went there to meet some friends and to watch some football. For such a small place, they do have plenty of TVs with multiple games going. It was great to be able to have pizza delivered, with the bartender providing paper plates, and napkins for us to use. The bartender was also very cool about bringing our drinks over or picking up empties as we were sitting a a table away from the bar. I didn't get his name, but he was cool. There is street parking but not on Peterson itself. I would say, depending on the day, it might be hard to find a spot as you have to park on Ridge or some of the side streets. There is a new Metra station down the street that is about 2 blocks from the bar. Not sure if there is public parking available, but worth checking out. I could see myself coming here just because I can bring my own food and still get bubbles. While they do not carry bubbles by the bottle, the stuff they had in the can was good. I would love to go there when the weather is nicer and they have the garage doors open. And it is a happy compromise to hanging out with friends who have dogs that they just can't live without who also like to drink. This is a place we can definitely hang out with them and have a good time.

I was there by myself because I'm traveling for work and actually enjoyed the communal tables. They made the atmosphere feel welcoming and a little less lonely than sitting by myself. The staff was excellent, too. The gentleman with the glasses at the meat counter was friendly, funny, and made the experience even more enjoyable. He even threw in a complimentary rib, which was such a nice surprise and a great example of the hospitality here. The karaoke seems to be first come first served, so we got there a little after 10 and no one from our group sang until 2am (from what I heard the next day. I tapped out at 1:30am). The same handful of people kept singing every few songs, so they must have all gotten there early and put in like 20 songs each. There were also a lot of repeats (I heard "What's Up?" by 4NB 4 times in the first hour I was there). It would be nice if the KJ bumped newer people up sooner before circling back to people who had already sung like 7 times, and if they pushed back song repeats, but in the end we're all just there for a good time and everyone sings along to everything, so it's fine. They card everyone and do scrutinize closely, which is good. One younger-looking girl in our group had to pull back her hair to prove it was her in her photo because her license photo had her hair slicked back. Food was decent. I didn't drink anything but the people I was with seemed happy with their drinks/they kept ordering more. They have video slots. One person in our group won $60 and one person lost $10 in 30 seconds, so it's hit or miss lol. I didn't go to the bathroom while I was there so I can't speak to cleanliness that other reviewers have mentioned. They're open to 4am, which is awesome. I tapped out at 1:30 because I'm old now, but if I was in my 20s I'd love the 4am thing. I'd go back with a group again.

On a Sunday afternoon, the place was practically empty but all the TVs were available for whatever we wanted to watch. Steve, the owner, doesn't mind if you bring in outside food to eat (since they don't serve food) so we went across the street to our favorite burrito place and brought food back for the game. Drinks were cheap and everyone was really friendly. The owner, Steve, talked to us a few times and invited us back since he knew we lived close by. Every time I've come in since Steve recognizes me and stops and chats with me, which I appreciate. I love Uncle Mike's as a local Hermosa bar and will keep coming here as long as I'm in the neighborhood.

Belmont Tavern is very close to the CTA Belmont Blue Line station, on Belmont just west of Kimball. We vow to return in the near future.

This is all you can eat as a Friday special- just the fish, not the sides. I started with the three and got an order of two then an order of one you order by the piece once you finish your main meal. Served with the meal you get a basket with malted vinegar, Tabasco, Cholula, ketchup, and mustard. The fish fry is $18.95 all you can eat on Fridays. The blue moon draft is $5 on Fridays as well. The other daily deal is the $5 Tito's drinks. Quality and taste are great. Service is quick and friendly! The bar has a great vibe as it's central to the restaurant but there are some high top tables along the perimeter as well.
