I was locked out of my car on Saturday and called two other locksmiths that didn't answer. 24hrlockouts was my third attempt and they had someone help me within 30 minutes from the time I placed the call. I paid $119.95. Great service, would use again! The guy gave me a receipt and said I could turn it in to my insurance if I had roadside assistance. Turns out I did and my insurance reimbursed me! Who knew?? Thanks 24hrlockouts. Would recommend read more

tyler was fast and efficient and provided excellent service, advertised on site as $20, dispatcher said $30 to send it out, and $30 to unlock the car. End price was $85, overall i got my car unlocked in a timely manner, I think transparency would help the company, seeing as the other reviews have people upset. At the end of the day my shit was solved , and again specifically Tyler was phenomenal, professional, and timely. read more

We were locked out of the house and called. They were there in about 30 minutes and showed up in an escort with a headlight out, no uniforms or name tags and didn't ask me for an ID. Felt uneasy about this and called the company back to get names of the people who showed up and they refused. When I continued to push, they put me on hold and after several minutes of holding, they picked up and hung up and didn't answer when I called back. Considering calling to make a report with the police. read more

Completely mis represent the cost. I still would have paid $100 but don't advertise $20 when it is $120. Secondly the guy couldn't pick the lock. He used a credit card to slide the house door open. I wonder what a deadbolt would have been like for him. Overall we got in but very disappointed that they advertise one cost and really jack up the price when they get there. It's a scam!! Do not call! I called at 8pm on a Friday night. My daughter locked her keys inside her running vehicle. I was told 15 - 30 minutes. After an hour I called back because no one showed up. I sat on hold for 10 minutes and then was told he would be here any minute. 30 minutes later.. still nothing. I called back and asked for management. She says there is no management. I asked who pays the locksmiths? She says she doesn't know. Then she told me "he must not be coming or he would have been there by now." Are you freaking kidding me?? This is the kind of business they run?? They won't be in business long. This place is a joke. Call a local, reputable company, not this place. It's run my people who don't care at all. read more

I wish I can give them lower than 1 stars. We got locked out of our house in the cold and I called at 6:18pm and they gave me an ETA of 15-30 min to come to my house. Thirty five min later I call them and they said he'll be there in two minutes. Fifty five minutes later still no one and I call back, the dispatcher calls the technician and it turns out he went to another house for a child emergency lockout. Well I have a child who is locked out too! In the cold Iowa winter! WTF! Then they tell me he will be here in another 12 minutes. They finally arrive 1hr30min after the initial call, with 3 follow up calls to them. A car arrived with two people in the car, looking like regular folks and the technician tried to get in our house with regular tools that someone would use to break into your house... then I receive a text message to review them and the link takes you to some untrustworthy site that says it might scam you. The whole experience is very weird and suspicious to me. I may look them up on the BBB, nothing feels right about them. These people are totally unprofessional with your time. If you have other choices call them first otherwise you will be told an ETA that they give you willy nilly and you'll be put on their priority list without knowing where you stand in that list. read more

Complete bullshit of a business. "24 hours" and charge me after hours and driving fees. Quotes as low as $20 and was charged 5 times that. Will never ever go to again. Highly recommended to avoid this bullshit place read more

This place is awful! I was out of town for business and locked the keys to my loaner inside the car. I called bc the prices on the website seemed affordable. NOT! They got to my car after 35 minutes. When the locksmith got there it took him about a minute to unlock my car. He told me the total was $119.95. I was in shock. I asked why it was so much and he told me because he was located in DM and I was in WDM and because it was a newer vehicle. $120 for a service that takes less than a minute seems ridiculous! Definitely shop around before you call! read more

I waited 40 min for someone to arrive in a regular unmarked car with regular clothes and no ID. He charged me $90 and said it's $20 for dispatch, $15 to unlock, and the rest depending on how far he had to drive.....it's Des Moines. It doesn't take 40 min to get a few min off the interstate. He spent 2 minutes unlocking my car. I feel totally scammed. I was locked out of my car once and had a key made that needed coded that cost that much. This was ridiculous and totally bait and switch. DO NOT USE. Also the survey they sent me my phone wouldn't even let me leave feedback because it said that the site wasn't secure and trying to steal information. I've never even seen that before. read more

not done by a competitor, i am a student at iowa, not a locksmith. please go somewhere else and read this review. all they do is connect you with a ridiculously expensive contractor. they say starting at $20 but that is their dispatch fee. also, it took about 40 minutes. literally contact anywhere else, it will be faster and cheaper. read more

24 Hr Lockouts - RECEIPT PROOF - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me

Horrible service. $19.95 advertised cost. Called for quote, locked out of car in cold. They disconnected the call when I asked what could cause the cost to go beyond the $35 (or more) she was quoting on the phone. Would not use. RUDE! read more

Scam-$120 for easy car lockout in Ankeny at 6pm on a Friday night! Was expecting to pay $60-$80 for a 2 minute job, boy was I mistaken! Didn't even tell me the price beforehand-would have told him to take a hike had I known it would be that much! read more

24 hour bait and switch they literally charged 3x the advertised amount i thought that was illegal but i guess the faded out "as low as" on their logo makes it ok. but seriously wtf? read more

The owner of this company contacted me to offer $20 for me to remove my negative review. According to the company's website, the locksmith I had trouble with is still employed by the company. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. read more

I used them for a lock repair on a door for a business. The dispatch lady told me the guy would be there in 15 minutes and that the starting rate was $19.99. She was trying to end the call quickly and didn't even ask for the address. I had to stop her and give it to her. Almost an hour later there was still no locksmith. I called back and was told he was 5 minutes out. The locksmith showed up 10 minutes later and took a long time to fix the lock which he didn't even do correctly. He then wanted the employee to pay him cash which she refused. The locksmith came back the next day saying he wanted $250 for the work. $250!!! He didn't even fix the lock right and I had to have another repair guy come out and fix it. The employee called me and I had her put me on the phone with locksmith. I told him $250 was outrageous and demanded to speak to his boss. After some mumbling and false statements that his "boss" told him to ask for me he finally said "what would you be willing to pay to resolve this situation". There is obviously no clear guidelines for their locksmiths and they can charge whatever they feel like. I ended up paying $80, which I still think was too much. read more

TERRIBLE!!! Waited an hour after being told 15-30 minutes. Paid $89 after $35 dollar quote. Don't bother with them. Use someone else.

false advertisement. says as low as $19, then charged me $69. i asked about the price, then said $19 is for a child lockout and it's on the web. i went to look at the web and it does say that but it's lightly grayed with a black background. i called again as a new client and i was told the quote is $120. ridiculous! bbb will hear about this read more

Yesterday we called and inquired about having them come and unlock a door. Having called 24 Hour Lockouts, we were told a quote of $35. However upon arrival the price almost doubled to $65, with a $20 call charge we had to pay upon arrival of the gentlemen with the company, even if we didn't use the companies services. The customer service was poor on the phone and in-person. I won't be using this companies services in the future and can't recommend them. read more

Do not use! Waited for an hour and a half when told would be 15-30 mins. I called back after an hour of waiting, they said would be there any minute. Waited another half hour. Finally arrived, was told it took so long because the guy who was supposed to do it couldn't make it. Obviously very unprofessional employees. Young guy who showed up was rude, told me I shouldn't be upset because he wasn't even supposed to be working tonight. I asked if he had a manager I could talk to, he was the manager. If you're the manager, it doesn't matter if its your night to work or not, you have to deal with it. Finally, he tried to charge me $90, when I have previously paid $40 in the same town for another business which arrived within 10 minutes. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Use Mike's in des moines for quick, friendly, service. read more

AWFUL!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They advertise $15 service and $15 minutes.to arrive. Actually took an hour and charged $150. The guy they dispatched showed up with 2 kids in the back of his car. Very sketchy business. Is it possible to give less than a 1 star rating? read more

DO NOT USE THIS LOCKSMITH. Website advertises $19.95, 15 min ETA. They arrived after 35 minutes and charged my teenager $65 to unlock a car. Definitely feel the company took advantage of her. read more

Have paid $20 and $35 to unlock the door to my old dodge caravan before. The website stated $20 for 24 hr lockout, I called and they quoted $35. No big deal, I've paid that before. The tech came, was rough in demeanor, looking angry and quiet. I let him do his thing and didn't wanna bother him, Literally 60 seconds to unlock the old car and he charged $65! Ridiculous. Will never call this company again. In this business I'm sure they could make more money being honest. I can deal with rude people, but wow. Don't call them unless you want to pay too much and have crappy service. read more

Worst service ever. I waited over an hour to get a locksmith at my location and then he finally got there. He asked me how my night was and in a normal conversational voice replied back "Its been good I have just been waiting for over an hour." I was being civil with him but then he instantly starts giving excuses and yelling profanity at me. The dispatcher told me the fees will start at $35 but that is completely wrong. The man that came got the car unlocked in less then 5 minutes and was ranting about my comment the entire time. As soon as he gets the car unlocked I start my car to stop the alarm and take my keys and put them in my pocket. He asked for my license after that and started to write the bill. He stated "Since you gave me such bad attitude I am going to charge you $89" Outrageous. The man told me that since he is an 'independent contractor' he can charge anything he wants to. I went and took my license to put back in my car because I did not want him to get any more of my information. I opened my car door to put my card in there and he must of thought I was going to drive way so he tries to jump into my car and get the keys to lock them back into my car. (His dispatcher for the company told him to do so because I was "giving attitude and didn't want to pay $89 for a 5 minute job." There was so much more to this story but to whoever sees this: Do not ever use this company. I am sure there are better locksmiths at this company but nobody need to get the same nut job I did. read more
