Way overpriced,horrible scam-like business practices, said it would be $29 plus labor online and when i called...tech comes out, then after two minutes he popped it open. Then tells me its gonna $128 and says thats not up to him that what they tell him the price is, then talked to a supervisor who told me the complete opposite that the techs set their prices...and other than that was no help at all. Basically got the run around treatment. If i had the expendable money they would be getting sued. My appoint was at 5 which I made around 1 pm. 5:30 I called and was told that bc he called and didn't leave a message that he assumed I canceled. Was told he would call me (locksmith) thirty minutes later he calls asking how am I. Spoke to supervisor said he would be on his way. Locksmith called again saying he charges $29 if I don't want their service but the price quoted could be more once he gets here and looks at my key bc he said he would have to make me an entire new key. I usually lack the desire to publicly rate a business, but this experience was so bad, I signed up just to save anyone else from a SCAM. I was quoted on the phone at a basic $50 for an easy job. The guy came and told me $180 at the door, due to my lock being 'rare'. I said I'd pay $100 if he got it open fast, as it was midnight. He simply slid a piece of cardboard between my door and the lock and asked for his $100. Literally took him 10 seconds. The guy also claimed that if he got a ticket for parking in front of a fire hydrant, I'd have to pay that too. On top of all this, they claimed it took him 20 minutes to drive here. When I looked up their address, I saw that they're a 5 minute car ride. 100% scam job, knowing they had me bent over. Took full advantage. Unethical and deserve to be called out. read more

One of their technicians came to our apartment--I know it was 24 Hour Locksmith b/c he wrote it on the top of the receipt, even though they were sent to us by a routing service (locksmithconnections.com). My boyfriend opened the door because I was in the bathroom, he quoted him a price ($175, much more than what they represented on the phone), then went to get his stuff. I came out and said there was a 15% deal off all services on their website (it was on the website of the service that sent him to us) and he immediately denied it and said that my boyfriend had already agreed to a price. My boyfriend said that yes he had forgotten to mention the coupon but he had told the woman on the phone he was using it and we could show it to him online. The technician refused to look at the website. He repeatedly made sarcastic remarks towards me like "Um, we're not T-Mobile, we don't do 'deals'" etc etc. He refused to look me in the eye, and just kept saying I had to pay him whatever he decided. He also kept changing his story--first saying there was no promotion, then saying it wasn't good on this date, then saying he already included it in our price. When I asked what the total price of the service was going to be with tax, he said "You know what NY tax is? You calculate it"...as if he didn't even know the price of a service he provides every day (which either means he's just being a jerk on purpose or arbitrarily changes his prices). Then he switched tactics and started saying that because I didn't answer the door, I wasn't a customer and didn't have a right to say anything--he said if I cared, I would've been there to open the door for him (even though he didn't show up at the time he said he would, so it's not like I could prepare myself to *not* be in the bathroom at that time). I finally called the dispatch service and they confirmed that there was a coupon and apologized to me. They got on the phone with the technician and told him about the coupon, and he started arguing and saying he's not honoring it. Then when that fails, he starts saying he already included it--after telling me and the dispatcher 25 times there was no such promotion. While I was on the phone, my softy boyfriend had given him a credit card to pay with and so he just started charging us whatever price he had decided on. I continued to insist he was in the wrong, and FINALLY, he yelled at me that I was a crazy person for arguing with him over such a small amount of money (it wasn't that small but, let's face it, isn't even the point when someone's lying to your face). Finally he gave us something like an 8% discount and left--but not before telling me that, even though he knew it was illegal, no one "ever goes to court over these things"--I guess that's why he felt free to try to cheat us out of money. Typically my experience with 24-hour locksmiths in NYC has been very poor. Either there's no one actually available to come and help or they take about 2 hours to arrive and charge an arm and a leg. Wednesday night, I needed a locksmith for an emergency situation at 2am. I was pleasantly surprised when the dispatcher at 24 Hour Locksmith said it would take about 20 minutes for the locksmith to arrive, and even more pleased and relieved when that turned out to be true. Our locksmith persevered good-naturedly through our difficult lock repair situation and the costs for all the work were absolutely reasonable. I'm so grateful and highly impressed and will absolutely be calling back for locksmith work we need done that's not an emergency situation. read more

This "company" is a total scam. Its been two weeks and our door is worse off then we started. So far they have charged us $360.00 and have also submitted another bill for $225.00. Can't emphasize enough about what others are saying. They quote you one price on the telephone and then when they get to your house they quote you something much higher. This guy even refused to leave our stairwell to our apartment and said he would call the cops if we didn't pay him a minimum of a $65.00 for the service fee or whatever. We just told him that there were surveillance cameras everywhere in our apartment complex and just left him in the stairwell by himself where he left about ten minutes later. No cops ever came.... If you want to be lied to and pay a premium, use this company, otherwise don't use this company..... read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - especially if you are a woman and are in desperate need of help- THEY WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU. It's a SCAM!!! I lost my keys in Central Park, while walking my dog. I didn't realize it until after I got back to my apartment. A snow storm was starting fast and my cell phone was in my apartment. I had no way to get inside with my large dog. I went across the street and used a cell phone from a business employee, dialed 411 and asked for any locksmith. Unfortunately I got connected to 24 hour locksmith. I waited approx. 45 minutes, he showed up in an unmarked car, drilled into my lock and installed a new lock within 30 minutes. He charged me $380.00!!!!!!!!!! Did I say ok? No- I said it was too expensive! SO, what was I going to do? I had my large dog, nowhere to be warm, no way to call friends or family. After he robbed me for $380.00 and left, I called three other locksmith companies who gave me estimates between $200 and $130 total for the exact same job. Not only did they take my money on credit card and NOT make the repair correctly, but when I called and asked them to go back to the location because the locks still weren't working, they lied and said someone would be out there and no one showed up. People needed to lock up and go home but couldn't. I was lied to all night long and at the time of this writing, I still don't have satisfaction. This Israeli-run company is a huge scam. They will try to make the price as high as possible. Quoted prices over the phone are absolutely meaningless. They give you a bare bones price on the phone and estimates are not free. They charge $19 just to come down and give an estimate in order to try to make you feel like you should just pay for the rest of the service so you're not wasting $19. SCAM! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I had a small 20 second job and was quoted $40 in total on the phone, the guy asked for $130. I bargained him down to $100. This company has the most frustratingly horrible and least professional service I've ever experienced. They made me wait multiple days multiple times only to finally make some bullsh*t reason why I needed to wait longer for my new car key. They also had the most incompetent staff who would continuously screw up my information after me telling them the same thing a thousand times and then making me wait even more extra days because of they somehow misunderstood my request. All I wanted to do was pay them the f**king $400 they charge for a new car key but after waiting a full week stranded at my house with my car unlocked on the street when they originally said it would take 1 day and being told for the literal 5th time, "Sorry sir, we have to reschedule your appointment again, the technicition still needs to order the part", I decided I would be better off starting all over again with a whole new company. My wife locked her self out of the house while I was away for the weekend. She called the 24 hr locksmith she found for mineola ny. She asked him to open the door for her, he replied it would have to be drilled. Bull, I know a locksmith who could have picked it in less than a minute. When she asked how much to leave the new lock off after he drilled it, he responded it is the same price with or without the new lock. The receipt than had an extra 50 dollars for the 10 dollar door knob. total price 179.00. With 2 young children and locked out my wife had no choice. Now she knows not to call the 24 hour locksmith for mineola ny.. Don't be misled by there 15 dollar charge and then they send someone who says he can't pick the lock. I will also file a complaint with the BBB website just for good measure. You should be ashamed of taking advantage of a person locked out of there home.
