Starion Energy - Their address on my monthly bill

Starion Energy

After a few calls from different energy suppliers, I finally decided to hang on the line rather…read morethan my usual hang up as soon as they say why they are calling me or what they are trying to sell me. I am so glad I did. I have been a happy customer with Starion Energy for over a year now, and couldn't be more pleased. I was offered both a variable rate and also a fixed rate. I chose the variable with no contract or cancellation fees. In the past year there has only been one change in my rate and it was dropped down a few cents which is great! My son just moved back home closer to us and he will be signing up as well. We are lucky to have the choice of where we want to purchase our electricity from, most states do not get that opportunity to do so and are stuck paying ridiculous rates. Thanks for the great service!

He tells me that the existing supplier is overcharging you and that he will make them pay me back whatever they were overcharging me and I said yes to him. That was it and the next bill I see different supplier and more expensive rates. THIS GUYS ARE SCAMMERS, STAY AWAY FROM STASION ENERGY and from ANY ESCO SUPPLIER. I called to cancel the account with them, and the cherry on top was that they wanted to charge me cancellation fee. STAY AWAY for your own good STAY AWAY. ConEdison supply cost approximately was: for Electricity = 8c per kWh and for Gas = 36c per therm. Starion Energy NY supply cost approximately was: for Electricity = 12c per kWh and for Gas = 60c per therm. I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Best Price Oil was disappointing and, more…read moreimportantly, unprofessional. After providing my credit card information on three separate occasions, I was contacted at 9:00 p.m. because the office had apparently lost my card information yet again. I expressed my frustration and asked why my card information continued to be misplaced when there had been no issues with the card itself. Rather than addressing my concerns, the owner became hostile and told me to "shut the f*** up." He then stated that I needed to resolve the payment immediately before a police report would be filed for nonpayment. Everyone can have a bad day, but losing a customer's payment information multiple times and then responding with profanity and threats is unacceptable. I would strongly encourage others to think carefully before doing business here.

BUYER BEWARE THE METER ON THE OIL TRUCK SHOULD ALWAYS START…read moreON ZERO. When I questioned the driver as to why the gallons on the meter showed 12.50 gallons BEFORE he even took the hose off of the truck, he could not give me an explanation. I stood right there at the truck the entire time so i know i was not mistaken. Because I did not have my phone handy to record this, video or photo, it became my word against the driver's. The company sided with their employee. I did not get 163 gallons of oil that I paid for. Instead I got 150.50 gallons. That's a $52 loss. This is very bad business. I recommend finding a reputable company to deliver your oil because you may not get what you're paying for.

When I called back he answered and said his manager was not available did not have a voicemail, seems convenient when there is a complaint. He also said after saying he did speak with me that it wasn't him and when I mentioned it, he gave an attitude. I previously quality audited call center calls for a large corporation (yes they do really listen) and would never allow that type of service! Let's pretend he was telling the truth about voicemail, why would I want to do business with a company that's not in the 21st century?! I was ready to have them as my power provider and now I will never use them and recommend others do not as well. Such a disappointment!!

I never write negative reviews, but I think in this case its worth it. Do yourself a favor and dont…read moreuse these guys. I was in contract with them and had a decent rate for a year, contract ended and then they shot me up to the highest rate they possibly could (higher than the highest any other provider had and higher than the standard rates by the Eversource). I didn't cancel in time, which is my fault so I ate the cost, didn't complain and paid the bill. The day I received that bill I called them and cancelled which was almost 4 weeks before my next meter read. A month later I get a bill (with Public Power being the provider) with that same insanely high rate. I called them and they said it could take 1-2 billing cycles to remove me from their billing. Long story short, they are holding me hostage to this rate until they decide to get to my name on a list and work with Eversource to remove me. In my opinion, this is terrible business and a terrible way to treat customers. There is no reason why this process cant be expedited, b/c customers shouldn't be held hostage to your ridiculous rates if they are out of contract and ask to be removed within a reasonable amount of time.

I hired Valiant to put in an "underground" propane tank and generator. They sent several people to…read moretalk to me and each one contradicted the previous person. There was finally a decision and I was sent an estimate to sign. Part of the contract is that any damage done to the property is not their fault and I signed because I think this is pretty standard. All the the workers they sent were great, EXCEPT. it appears the quote I signed and paid for was not at all complete, so to dig the trench was another $2600.00. Then the surge protector was not added so that was another $650.00 These upcharges just kept coming. The Tank was NOT buried as I has asked, but is above the ground and a real eyesore. They willed the tank without asking my permission. The damage to the property is terrible and I have no way to repair it. The last people who came said they would check back, but I have never heard from them. I saved 20 years for this work and to have the mess, and all those up-charges has been terrible. The photos show some of the damage. Valiant said they would leave oil which they did not, they said they would come back and set up an App which they did NOT, they said they would contact me about an extended warranty which they did NOT. There were supposed to contact me about service and they did NOT. It was beena miserable experience. Now I have a generator which may or may not work I am out almost $30,000.. 20 years of saving.
