My husband and me got locked out of our apartment. Called and requested a quote. We were told 60-90. We accepted that and decided to have them help us. Only to be surprised that our final bill was $150!!!! I called back and explained to the guy that originally quoted us as to why did he say 60-90 but they charged us $150. He proceeded to say "is common" for it be to $150. I told asked him why if it's common for it to be $159 why did he not tell me that over the phone!!! Instead he told me $60-90! We had a weak latch at one of our back doors in the shop. The door sometimes opened if you pushed hard on it. So we called (Yelp'd) around and these guys responded among many others. Their response was very professional so we went with them. The issue we had was that when he saw the door, he said "this a handyman job but I can fix it". His fix was to drill the opening of the strike plate bigger for $120 (5 minutes). This made the latch work more consistently but made the door rattle since there was a play in there now. Not a good solution at all. Not sure why he simply did not change the plate especially for such a high price. Their generic receipt paperwork was also ineligible. Almost like another language. In any case, we replaced the plate ourselves for $4 and it works like a charm now with no gaps or rattles. So this rating is for a very poor solution and a very high cost! read more

Although a little expensive (over $100 due to my smart lock that is so secured that have to be broken to open it), David arrived incredibly fast within 15mins to help. He is very patient and explained to me all the details about the smart lock. ( btw everyone reads this should change their locks to smart locks, which is not known by many people, but the safest locks so far and the David the lock smith also used it for his home. Hey, everybody This place is an amazing! Only 30 min ago I forgot my keys inside apartment! I called them and they said it's about 15 min for somebody to come and open my door. My place is about 10 min away. After 15 min David came: first he asked to confirm address and explain what's going to happen, risks etc. He was explaining longer than actually opening the door. Absolutely experienced and professional and honest. Had a complicated job yesterday and as I was searching for a locksmith on a sunday afternoon, while also trying not to get completely ripped off with emergency rate, I am so lucky I reached out to Jacob and went with him. Had Jacob put in a deadbolt a few years back. Great job, fair price. Today the front door latch was sticking when opened from the public side. I tried lubing it, but still the latch wouldn't close. He gave 2 quotes prior, one to repair, the other to replace (More $$$). After he took it apart, he switched the latch allowing it to work again (Thereby saving me $$$ on a new replacement). Job was done well but technician didn't clean up the place after he was done. I had him install a new deadbolt. He left a bunch of mess at home and left. Before leaving, I talked to him a bit to see if he can clean up (just like folks from any other trade I have dealt with) and his response was "I'm not a cleaner". He finally agreed to clean up after a bunch of back and forth but I didn't want him to clean and was done with their "service". Prices seem cheap in the beginning but can change drastically when they get home - to be fair, I didn't know and hence didn't mention my door had metal exterior so drilling a hole in that seemed cumbersome (but in reality it wasn't all that difficult). Any way overall not a pleasant experience although I'm happy with the end result of installation of the deadbolt. Tech didn't honor yelp offer either. He Said I had to mention I have a coupon upfront. I don't know if that's how it's supposed to work. I wouldn't go with this company again. read more

So, I have a major case of A.D.D and being a working single mom does not help. I can literally be holding my phone or my keys in my hand and think they're lost...I'm not kidding in the least. So I usually don't leave a review on yelp unless it's very well deserved and this company really deserves a 5 star review! Last night, I went to use the restroom and forgot my office keys and ended up locking myself out of my office as I have the habit to lock the door after me thinking that the keys were in my pocket. So I started calling around to see who can come out and who can provide me with the best price.... and after calling about 6-7 places (all with high yelp reviews btw...but neither one of them really lived up to their reviews besides these guys), I finally ended up calling these guys. First off, the person who answered the phone was super nice and professional and really worked with me to help me out and gave me the lowest price from all the companies I had called. Then about 3 mins later, the driver called to confirm the location and showed up 8 mins later. So really quick response time! When he showed up, it turned out that the key on my office door was a smart key lock/impossible to pick and the only way to open it was to drill it. After gI got the ok from the building manager, he started drilling/did his magic and opened my office door. David was the guy that came out and I could not be happier in all aspects! He was very nice, courteous, really presentable and even though it ended up being a much more difficult job/lock to open, he still kept the price at what I had initially agreed upon with the person who answered the phone. These guys are great, they came really quick and David was a super super nice guy! Really went out of his way to make sure that I was satisfied with the whole process from the minute he showed up until he left... made sure to thank me for my business and everything was just great!
