Sure enough, as soon as I tried the original key, it worked significantly better than before; a lot of the sticking I assumed was from the lock turned out to be from the poorly cut key. Then I got them to change the locks to my front door. He gave me a couple of options for the type and pricing of locks. When he came, he showed me how the new lock was better than what it was replacing, and that while there were still better locks, they were probably overkill for my needs. He also adjusted a lot of poorly installed hardware that he didn't need to, but he took pride in his work and it showed. Still recommend them to everyone who asks for a suggestion of a locksmith.

A technician would call to arrange the time. 5 min later, someone e said they could come asap. I needed the next day. So they said that was fine. What they neglected to tell me was it would be a subcontractor who would come. I asked when scheduling if they could give me a ballpark idea of cost. I was told it would depend on what lock I picked. When the tech came, I wasn't given a choice of lock. All he had were one style for 89$each. First said the front door would be lock switch at 65$. Back door 125 as it was considered a new install since he had to redo the door to fit the lock. Ok fine. He got to work then asked for a vacuum. I thought cool he's gonna clean up the mess. It took 1.5 hours to install a deadbolt on the back door and he didn't clean up! Vacuumed once in th3 beg and the. Left all his crap on the floor and strewn about. Screwd on the floor pieces of the door etc. Next we get to the front door. The easier of the 2. Now he looks at us and says oh this will be more. 69$ more. Um why? ALEX the tech says, because it will be more work than I thought. It took hom 39 min so why did we have to pay more for something that took less work than the other door? They send out third party locksmiths or something and the pricing they provided when the first guy came was crazy. I got a call from the owner afterwards and he adjusted the pricing to be somewhat more reasonable so I agreed to proceed. Unfortunately the locksmith that had initially come out was at another job so we got something scheduled for the next day. A different locksmith showed up the next day and completed the work. It didn't seem like he knew how smart locks worked. Later that day I tried using the lock and noticed that the lock was not engaging fully. I removed the August smart lock and saw that the pin from the lock was not fully engaging in the August lock. This all worked fine before they changed the cylinder in the lock. I had to keep calling and messaging the owner to finally get the locksmith to come back. He proceeded to tell me that everything worked fine when he left and that it was a smart lock issue. I installed the smart lock a month before this and it worked without any issue. It was a brand new smart lock. I told him what I thought the issue was with the pin not engaging. He took it apart and put it back together then told me I must have done something and I should buy a new smart lock. I asked him to leave and reached out to the owner. The owner took days to finally get back to me and provided no solution except to replace the lock and pay them again to rekey it. Our keys keep getting stuck in the "regular" lock side as well.
