Very Disappointing Experience I placed an order online with…read moreLax and Wine 11011 Baltimore Ave Beltsville MD. and went to the store to pick it up. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. The salesman I dealt with was rude and nonchalant throughout the interaction. What was even more frustrating was that my prepaid order was apparently canceled without my knowledge or consent. I was not properly informed about the cancellation, and the way the situation was handled made the experience even worse. I understand that issues can happen with orders, but I expect customers to be treated with basic courtesy and respect, especially when there is a problem with an order that has already been placed. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I hope Lax and Wine & Spirits takes this feedback seriously and provides better customer service and communication in the future. This happened on 11/8/26 at approximately between 2:45 -3pm at Customer Service desk

Unlike the big box stores, they can't stock umpteen varieties of the same thing. But then again, you can shop the entire store and not feel like you've run a marathon and if you forgot something it's half a mile away. Reminds me of the grocery stores of my youth, in the 1950s. Convenient parking. Never too crowded, although I'd be happy if they had more out of town patronage to assure they stay financially healthy.

Anthony(Tony) is always!! very pleasant, respectful and yesterday he was a True aficionado!, broke it down to a science when speaking of the sizes of wine/liquor as some customers get confused because they go off what they see so some don't know a fifth or pint is two different sizes. Met Marie at the drive-thru this so helpful and accommodating and too funny when they were out of a wine my fam was getting for herself, Marie gave her a look like like I can go grab whaaaatever you like if that's what you want,it's ok you don't have to rush( cars where behind us) . Got the Makings for Martinis and Margaritas , I'd absolutely choose this spot customer service alone and you don't have to feel rushed if you're indecisive they all have patience and understanding, they even make suggestions. affordable prices are a bonus.

It helps that my parents and I always drive by here, and it's like 10 minutes from both of our houses. So it's really convenient! Also, the best deals on gas come if you have cash, otherwise it's a 10 cent increase. In all the years I've been going, I've never purchased anything inside. But the staff have always been kind.

This week I witnessed an angry and disrespectful customer who was fighting about 20 cents. He was about to go out the door. I said to the other customer in line "that isn't right". The guy returned threw a $1 bill at the owner and grabbed the change out of his hand and stormed off. I told the owner "you are nice man, you didn't deserve that". He pointed to some photographs of the shoplifters that had gone out the door without paying in the past. It is unfortunate that a good business owner has to deal with customers like that. Nevertheless, the owner served the guy, and took the next customer.

Since I was in a rush, I'll admit that I did not have much time to fully investigate what they had in stock in terms of liquors and wines. Perhaps, I could do that during another visit. I thought the staff was pretty friendly and helpful. Also, I thought the prices were pretty fair (maybe even on the lower side) compared to other liquor/wine stores' prices in the area. I definitely could see myself returning here if I'm in the area and need to buy a bottle (or three) of something.
