Paying 50 additional dollars when you lose your parking permit is pretty ridiculous when you're already nickle and dimed for everything else. After dealing with many apartments in my time in college, 21 Fitzsimons is by FAR the biggest crook. First off, $1700 for a 1 bed in Aurora? For a unit that is 10+ years old? My appliances were old and did not work very well. There is a new apartment complex going up across campus that is much nicer. 21 Fitz is under constant construction and it is loud and noisy. They filled in both hot tubs which is a major bummer. The only worthy renovation they have done was the gym. For awhile they were digging a giant pit in front of building 1 and then refilled it is and its just been a slab of dirt ever since then. The walls are PAPER thin. I could hear full conversations from my side and upstairs neighbors in building 1. The parking is getting ridiculous expensive. $70 for a public garage is steep and they don't even keep the gates closed. The large main gate was open for almost 6 weeks at the beginning of summer. There were transients walking around outside of the garage all the time and management did not seem concerned. There is also no security even with the homeless population that seems to linger around. The creme de la creme of 21 Fitz is the management. NEVER have I heard of a management company requiring a 60 day move out notice and charge fees on top of fees for a 45 day notice. There is a mandatory "painting" fee (mine was $110 for a 700 sq foot apartment). My apartment was clearly not painted before I moved in and probably wont be painted again. If you don't pay their $150 cleaning fee, then you could get charged for cleaning aspects even if you hire professional cleaners (AKA more of a rip off). I had questions regarding fees on my account, emailed Brian who said "At a glance, it looks like they corrected the Short Term Fee as we discussed but then they had to add in the remainder of your utilities". So I paid that. And then the move out team charged me again for my utilities, claiming I had not paid them, and was insistent I pay it. To get out of this hell hole, I did. Overall, 21 Fitz is just a trap of fees and poorly run management. If you read the recent yelp reviews, they are going downhill. Save yourself frustration and money and live somewhere else. read more

Being a new resident I have had nothing but positive experiences thus far. Gina Bermudez has gone above and beyond for me in regards to helping me find a roommate when plans with my original roommate fell through. Now I am receiving calls from multiple people willing to move in as a potential roommate, all with the help of Gina putting my name out there to whoever was interested in a 2bed/2bath apartment. Also, my washer/dryer was in need of being replaced and the leasing manager, Matt Kinghorn, was very professional and willing to take the time to come up to my apartment with their maintenance team and evaluate the situation. The next week I had a brand new washer/dryer. The leasing office team has been very professional and always willing to help in any circumstance. I have lived at this complex for almost two years and I'm up to my ears with BS from the staff/management! Let me start by saying that I hate to leave negative reviews, but I'm so infuriated by their incompetence and behavior that I need to warn everyone! Yes this is the closest/most convenient location if you study/work at Anschutz - and they know that! So they EXPLOIT that to the last drop! We have had so many issues with them being unresponsive about problems with our apartment but I'm just going to talk about the latest! We have had issues for over 2 months now- I don't want to get into details but let's just say that this issue makes our apartment vulnerable to intruders. This, obviously, is a HUGE safety problem and we have asked them, on MULTIPLE occasions to attend to it. And on every occasion we have gotten either "oh we are working on it" or "oh we thought it was already resolved". frustrated by all of this, we left a negative review for the service man that failed to fix the problem (thinking that this would be anonymous and constructive so they could get their sh*t together)! Next time the service man came, he was AGGRESSIVE and THREATENED my roommate about the negative review. We were so shaken up but finally decided to tell the office about this person's behavior. We were promised that this person would be disciplined, that he would never set foot in our apartment (the office has keys to every apartment, so he could enter our apartment whenever he wanted!), and that the window would be fixed ASAP! It has been 4 weeks since that conversation, our windows have still not been fixed. When I went into the office, I found out that the service manager had NO IDEA about this problem. AND that the threatening person still has access to our home! I'm so infuriated by this! We feel so unsafe by the office and service people's actions! Just because this place is convenient for students, they take advantage of you with RIDICULOUSLY HIGH PRICES and really crappy service! read more

The price is quite high, but the amenities (pools, gym, pet areas) are well kept for and the staff and maintenance crews are happy to help. I've found that it's a very friendly community, and I really like that it is pet-friendly. I never saw any pests, so that's why they don't get one star. Very poor communication from leasing office staff unless you give them a poor review on a service request, and then you hear back immediately. You generally won't know when things (e.g. elevators) or amenities (e.g. gym) are closed or open or broken or will be fixed, etc... Key fobs rarely work in the garage elevators. After move out, our final account statement shows that we'll be paying $110.00 for "damage charges - wall damages". I contacted the Aimco Customer Care After Move Out team, and they sent me three pictures: some discoloration from where our furniture touched the wall, which could be wiped clean, and what looks like maybe a hole from a nail? During the pre-move out inspection we were told not to worry about holes smaller than a pencil eraser and not to worry about cleaning (since we'd agreed to pay them $150 to have it professionally cleaned after we moved out. You're required to leave the apartments "move-in ready"). When I enquired about speaking to someone to discuss the wall damages, Vannesa from the After Move Out team referred me directly to the leasing office to speak with the service manager. After I emailed and left a voicemail with the leasing office which weren't returned, I called back again and was finally able to reach someone who took my number and said the service manager would call me back - which he never did. I received a voicemail a few days later from Vannesa, not to follow up on my concerns but to collect my money. I called back and spoke to a gentleman who let me know that if the walls were wiped down to removed the paint discoloration that they would need repainted and hence the charges. He did reassure me that they don't use paint thinner to wipe down the walls but that indeed the paint will be removed with the simple use of soap and water. Fascinating. Anyway, renters: be wary of the charges that will be accrued during the move-out process. read more

The apartments are nice but the walls are paper thin. I can hear just about every conversation my neighbors have on a daily basis. If I'm paying rent this high, I'd expect the structure of the building to be constructed with better material. Other than that, I like how dog-friendly the community is.. I really appreciate the poopy bags dispenser located all around the area. Maintainable service is superb! They're are really quick to respond to my requests and show up in a timely manner. The best place to live if you're a student at Anschutz. The short walk (under 10 min) to class allows me to sleep in longer than my buddies who have a gnarly commute in traffic. When it snows, I don't have to worry about terrible drivers or the road conditions. My apartment in phase 2 is updated with a beautiful kitchen and views of the golf course. Quality lighting and modern appliances. Its the nicest apartment I've ever lived in (which isn't saying much as a post grad). The front office takes care of any problems that may arise. There's also a dry cleaning service that picks up and drops off from the front office. They only charge me about $2.50 a shirt which is very cheap and I've never had any issues with them. In the summer, we often have hangouts and BBQs at the pool. When we run out of refreshments, we stroll across the street to the conveniently located liquor store. After a long day, indulge in a craft beer from GABF award winning Coda brewery which is also located in this area. Its nice being able to indulge and not have to worry about finding DD or an expensive cab home. read more

We went into this apartment community with high hopes and everything went well initially. Due to us moving from out of state, I made sure to have great communication with the leasing office. They replied quickly at first and then suddenly I was getting no replies. Come to find out it was because that leasing agent had left the company and apparently no one else knew about our open lease until I called asking why we weren't being answered anymore. We got things taken care of for the move across country to then be told 3 weeks prior to our move timeframe that we suddenly needed a different proof of income and that we had 48 hours to provide it or the lease would be dropped. Long story short we couldn't suddenly prove over 3 years of rent in our bank accounts so it was dropped. There is a third party involved in the lease application, so be aware of this. The communication at this time was EXTREMELY poor. There were serval phone calls/emails that all contradicted each other. All I can say now is, if this is how they treat people before they even live there, then how do they treat their actual residents? read more

Service has steadily increased in quality since I moved here in August 2014.The area is great and the Anschutz Medical Campus is right across the street. City Park is not too far. I am very happy living here! It has a wonderful atmosphere that I am able to feel safe in. It is also quiet and very new! There are many amenities available and their service is prompt. My only very small issue is that I live next to the trash room, which churns and reverberates through my bedroom while I am trying to sleep (so choose your location carefully)! And yes, it is very pricey overall, but it is superior to many apartment complexes out there. At the end of the day, I love coming home to relaxing in the hot tub, swim laps, or work out. read more

The price is worth being close to campus If you are attending class or working in the campus or at the hospital. They have a beautiful pool area and hot tub area both with plenty of comfortable seating and multiple bbq grills for use! There ya a gym equity with many machines and weights. There is a billiards room and plenty of lounge spaces. The apartments are Newley finished with modern designs. I love 21 Fitzsimons. I moved here with my roommate in 2016 to be close to the campus. It only takes ten minutes from your apartment door to get to a class room which is really convenient. The amenities are all very modern and updated, but our apartment is still cozy and feels like a home. I highly suggest this community to anyone in search of a new place to live. read more

Moved here 6 months ago and although the leasing staff was very nice, this complex (building 2) is a huge disappointment. I had a luxury apartment in Houston for almost $2000 less per month than what I pay here. I am paying for garage parking but have to park on the roof every evening after 6:00. The garage gate has been broken at least 4 weeks now. The trash chutes are full most of the time. The hallways are not air conditioned in 98+ degree weather and stink from the pets. The garage door on the 3rd floor (across from #321) has been broken/unlocked for months because the doors have been propped open for moving so many times. Anyone off the street could easily get in the building, there is absolutely no security features. Having to pay for parcel delivery is the most infuriating with horrible service and difficult to resolve issues. Don't dare make the mistake of ordering a weekly food plan. Mine was delivered 10 days late in June and you can imagine the disgusting mess and the PP cannot acknowledge or decipher what might need rush delivery. I'm paying for wasted services which are required in the lease. They advertise the most updated services and appliances however every building is different depending on availability. The only positive is being close to the medical center. However the cons far outweigh the pros and I cannot wait to give my notice. Don't be fooled by the website. read more

Moving from CA to CO was stressful and scary. After looking at plenty of apartment homes in the Denver area, my wife and I were not very impressed with what we saw. We ended up almost settling for a place that was not in good shape, not in a very safe area, and overpriced for what we were getting. We didn't get a good feeling from this place. Then, my wife came across 21 Fitzsimons on Rent.com, and we decided to give it a shot. At first, we were pretty intimidated by the luxurious look to the whole complex- especially the leasing office. We were wondering if we would be able to find a place for us within our budget. But we took a chance, and we are definitely glad we did! It was pretty late- and they were closing soon, but our rental agent Carlos welcomed us in, showed us every apartment they had available in our price range, and answered any and all of our questions. We went back to our hotel that night with a great feeling, and knew that this is where we wanted to live. Everyone affiliated with 21 Fitzsimons is happy, professional and helpful. They make you feel like you're at home. Everything is impeccably clean, quiet, safe, and you'll be right near an army base, and a police station- it doesn't get any safer than that!! We are amazed by how quiet and calm this complex is, and how kind all of the residents here are. Also, it's pretty nice being right near the 225 freeway, where you can quickly get to anywhere you need to go. We highly recommend that anyone considering renting an apartment in CO check 21 Fitzsimons out. We've never seen an apartment complex as impressive as this one!! read more

Out of all my years of renting this complex is my favorite hands down! Its a friendly environment and your have little convenient local shops for food and liquor, perfect for any young crowd. The amenities are awesome and kept very clean. everything is updated, clean, and has a modern feel to it. Matt the complex manager is the best and he does everything in his power to make sure your satisfied to the best of his ability. I also can't forget the rest of the staff maria, gina, Sebastian. For such nice and expensive apartments, I wish they had put some money toward sound proofing the units. My upstairs neighbors might be using their apartment for bowling or demolition. Also, in building 1 parcel packages can't be retrieved after business hours because the lobby area shuts down at 6pm (I don't know about other buildings). Leaving work early or going to work late to pick up packages is hardly ideal but may be necessary for people that don't want to pay a $10 fee for failing to retrieve their packages within 3 days. Lobby hours are 10-6pm during the week. read more

When I first moved in around July 2014, the carpets in my apartment were trashed. They gave me the keys, walked me up to my apartment and the leasing agent showed me around my new apartment. He said these carpets just won't do. He then asked if I could delay move in by a day for them to replace them. I did and they had new carpet in by the next morning. They've been under new management since around august and it has been really great. Maintenance is fast and super friendly. The complex is quiet, conveinient and well maintained. If you're a student or work on the anshutz campus, you really can't find anything better within a minimum of a 15 minute drive. I'm a medical school student and I lived 5 miles away from campus my 1st year in a other apartment complex. I often had to leave 40 minutes before needing to be on campus and often was late because even that wasn't enough at times. You just can't beat the convenience. read more

I have nothing but 5 stars to give this community! The leasing team is exceptional, the grounds are beautifully maintained and it's quiet! Rarely do I hear outside noise or my upstairs neighbors. I love my cozy 1 bedroom and I am so glad I chose this neighborhood since it's close to work. I can't wait to see what other retail establishments open in our neighborhood. We could use a grocery mart and a beauty salon! I love our brew pub because of the location and the excellent food! My neighbors are super friendly and I love the decorative art which decorates the hallways! Being new to Denver and living at 21 Fitzsimons sure has made it a breeze. One recommendation is to maybe not paint the walls grey inside an apartment home which doesn't see much sun as the dark floors and cabinets along with the grey walls makes the apartment darker. I feel sometimes like our community is like Fort Knox with having to use the key fob for entry access. Other than those two items, great place to live! read more

I recently moved in to 21Fitz end of July and I love it here so far! I am in building 6 and there is a hot tub apart a few floors below me and the work out room is in the building. The pool is really nice and close and I love that there is a restaurant, CVS, and brewery all right here. The staff is super friendly and will help with anything you need. Apartments are very luxurious and in great shape. I look forward to living here for the next few years. read more
