It looks great from the outside, but they cut corners in a real way. The units are not cheap (and yearly rent increases are aggressive.) But the building has constant issues due to lack of maintenance. When we lived there, broken fire alarms went off about once a week. this would result in everyone evacuating the building and the fire department being called. Sometimes as early as 4am. when they finally fixed the units, the alarms would go off randomly during the workday, sometimes for upwards of an hour at a time. From what I understand, this issue is now fixed, but it gives you a sense of how neglected the building can be. Don't be fooled by the luxury facade. Shit is broken in there. As I left, I saw multiple of the new units had flooded during storms. read more

TLDR: Mice, flooding, constant fire alarm testing (due to faulty system) and a non-responsive staff/ UDR corporate. Only the photos of this place are nice. Save your money pick other place. Hi, I am writing this review as a courtesy to future residents in hopes they don't get scammed by UDR. I have lived all over SF for the past 20 years (I feel old) and this is the first time I have had such a horrible experience with a property management group. I would NOT recommend moving in here, UDR is the definition of SLUM LORDS. Let me start with utilities which are not included and for a studio cost $135 a month. The building has been broken into many times but not action has been taken. Our mailboxes were broken into and out of services for 8 Months. Even the post office was frustrated that UDR had not worked to get new ones replaced. There are 4 elevators in the building and 2 are constantly broken. Most recently a tenant was trapped and UDR didn't even send out notice or post any signs that the elevators were down. Repairs take weeks, currently we are on week 2 with no updates on when elevators will be repaired. MICE! The building has mice, when I told UDR and the property director Tina that one came into my apt on the 3rd floor under the front door she simply said "it's cold out." I was shocked. Again I have lived in SF for 20 years many units on the first floor and never had a mouse in my house. We have also seen mice in the lounge area. Flooding- the building floods when it rains and the new apartments that were built in the garage all flooded! I would attach video that I have but yelp wont let me. My apartment had water intrusion for 5 months now. UDR had a handyman come out twice and did nothing. Finally at the 4th month they hired roofers to come take a look. The roofer told them it's cause the window wasn't waterproofed and they need to call window repair. It's now month 5 with no solution and UDR WONT PROVIDE RENT ABATEMENT. The walls were so wet they had to rip open the walls and place 2 industrial blowers and one dehumidifier in my unit for a week. But they WOULD NOT MOVE ME TO ANOTHER UNIT, though they have over 10 available. I have had water all over my floors every time it slightly rains but their solution is to put up plastic tarp with a 2x4 that continues to slam into my windows not allowing me or other units to sleep. Fire Alarms- I hope you like testing that happens several times a month because of the new units that have been installed in the garage. It has gotten so excessive that the SFFD no longer responses with urgency because they are aware that the building fire alarm system is faulty and has not been resolved. All in all don't rent here. Save your hard earned money for a better nice place with actual amenities that work and a property group that response to tenants. I have spoken with the District Manager and he won't take action either. Tina, property director on site will say anything to make you go away. Lots of talk with no action. read more

Things were going good until the construction started in February 2022 It's been torturous living here with the noise, vibrations, drilling and daily construction work (supposed to last another 6 months!) . There is constant movement of large trucks hauling concrete away almost daily. Especially for folks that work from home 8-5pm. The front-office acts as if nothing is happening and concrete drilling is like birds singing on Pierce entrance. They will claim that the lease contains wordings where tenants are ok with construction and that they singed living in these poor conditions. The really bad stuff, that all tenants know of: - Insanely bad, moldy, dysfunctional dryers and washers front load - Security is terrible after they changed the fob with passcode entry - Multiple break ins after this including broken mail boxes - Mail doesn't get delivered on Pierce (they claim they're fixing it) - For any complain by any tenant, manager will say "you're the only one who mentioned this" (all tenants know her excuse haha) - Fire alarms can be a pain, lots of false positives :( leading to painful time wastage for WFH folks - The monthly building utility bill (separate from power/gas) is $200 for a small studio, shocker The best thing here are the 2 handyman who work here, hard working diligent folks who are overworked. My review on these apartments are actually terrible. They are roach infested. When I first moved in they didn't mention it all; a neighbor told me while I was moving my stuff in. The leasing agent is very off I believe she's on drugs. She doesn't print out rent receipts and she let things pile up until an eviction notice comes about. I had to start recording our conversations because she agrees to something and then switches up. She cannot be trusted. I've spoke to other residents and they've agreed to these things that Ive experienced. They also don't answer the phone it takes a lot to contact them. I have to show up. As a resident I shouldn't have to go through the troubles of this. This is my first apartment and it was terrible I felt played and I don't recommend. The reason I even gave a review is because of this nice maintenance man fixing my troubles name Mario. S/o Mario he does great work, he moves with speed and gets the job done. I have lived here for three years. 2000 Post has very few redeeming features, and I will leave as soon as my rent increases from covid rates. UDR and the management teams that run this building are grossly incompetent. In every situation where the building needs repairs, changes, cleaning, or service, the management makes it abundantly clear that they paid the absolute lowest bid. Communication with them is impossible. Each time I've tried to correspond with managment via email, it is ignored. When I go to the onsite staff in person, they passionately promise and guarantee they will resolve whatever it is, and immediately forget about it. Here are some examples of problems we've been facing as a community in 2000 Post recently. In the past two months, at least one of the three elevators has been broken each week. In the past year, a car and a motorcycle have been stolen from the "secure underground garage" and two more cars had windows smashed without so much as an email from management. At least three times in the past eight months, residents have encountered aggressive intruders with belongings piled in the garage or stairwells. During one such incident, someone called our "24/7 security" which replied, and I quote, "there's no need to call the police." When the "guard" arrived later, they had no means to remove the intruder and called the police anyway. The intruder then left the garage and wandered the halls. Neither the guard nor the police searched for him. At least once per week, the package room overfills forcing carriers to leave packages on the floor of the garage where they are torn open within a day by thieves and intruders; management had the audacity to increase the "package service fee" by over 50% this year. Over the past year, we have had over 15 days during which the fire alarm system was sounded for anywhere between 30 minutes and four hours; this was due too poor planning and cheap installation services during "rennovation" of the garage upper level into new units. Until very recently, almost half of all laundry machines were broken or in disrepair. Management replaced their laundry contractor very recently, increasing laundry prices for residents by almost 20% for the exact same model of machines. read more

I've never gone out of my way to write a positive review before, but I felt compelled to after all the negative reviews on this page almost prevented myself & my roommate from signing our lease here. I've lived in San Francisco for 4 years now, going on my 5th in 5 different apartments. This building is easily the nicest I've lived in so far. My thought on all the negative reviews is that these must be one off situations. So far the building and my unit are clean, quiet, and everything is working in great condition. The staff on site has been incredibly kind and helpful. The move in process and online leasing process were very quick and smooth for the most part. For just 2k a month per person, but roomate and I are splitting a 2 bedroom, each have our own bathroom with a walk-in closet, a pretty good sized living room and kitchen, lots of storage, a pool, a hot tub, and a gym. Can't complain. If you've lived in other places in San Francisco, you might have some more perspective as to how nice this place is, for San Francisco especially. PAST apartments I've had mold, mice in TWO of them, extremely thin walls, no elevator, no amenities, terrible landlords and water leaks (shout out Brick + Timber for that one) etc. San Francisco certainly isn't the best place for apartments and if you've got some perspective this place is a pretty great deal. I moved in to 2000 Post in 2021, taking over someone's lease for a nice pandemic rate. We moved out in 2024. Our rent for a 2B2b went from under 3.5k to almost 4k by the time we moved out. This was my first time living in a corporate apartment and it was just an okay experience. If you can stomach annual rent increases and random BS it's not a bad place to live, but it didn't feel worth it after a few years of rising rent from our initial deal. Things seemed to be trending slightly better, but slowly. Pros: - All doors are pinpad entry, the only key is for mail. There's an app for opening the building doors but it didn't work well. No chance of locking yourself out and pretty convenient. - Large rooms and nice layout for SF. The 2BR layout has the living room in between the bedrooms so very little noise travels between the rooms, and each room has its own private bath. In terms of pure square-footage, the 2+ more bedroom units are a decent deal for SF. I did not have many issues with noise from other units, walls seemed fairly soundproof. - Nice pool and gym - Good location in the city - Relatively safe and quiet street, close to lots of food options - The leasing office staff, despite being very busy, were very friendly and helpful. The building seems understaffed given the total number of units (only 2 people on duty at most at any given time?) - Maintenance requests are taken care of quickly and the maintenance staff is great. The turn-around was generally just one or two days for basic issues. - The appliances and internet generally functioned well So-so: - Laundry machines were replaced recently and worked well. You pay through an app which is convenient but it's 2.75 a load for wash or day. App in theory lets you see which machines are in use but it doesn't list all of the laundry rooms. Unfortunately since it is a pet-friendly apartment you may find pet hair in the washers/driers. - Email communication was not great at first and you'd encounter stuff being broken or out of service without hearing about it. This improved in the past year or so. - With the very wet weather of 2022, the apartment gym flooded, along with some of the apartments under construction. I would personally be hesitant to live in any of the units at ground level, though to be fair this was during construction (near the tail end as far as I could tell) so maybe it's fine now. - There are package lockers and a package room for receiving deliveries which worked great 90% of the time. However delivery drivers are not always familiar with the procedures so sometimes you'd get a locker with someone else's package, packages left in hallways, etc., though that's probably not specific to this apartment. In addition, the package lockers were full fairly often and you'd have to dig through the package room to find your package among the hundred+ stacked in there. - Our unit faced the apartment courtyard so was fairly quiet unless folks were having pool parties, but air flow is not great. We basically never had a breeze through the windows so window fans were needed to help cool things down at night. Cons: - Absolutely nothing is included in the rent price for utilities. Electric + water/sewage + trash + gas + internet added up to about 400 bucks a month for our two bed. - Elevator on my side of the building was out of service 5 or 6 times, taking several days to a week to repair. There was one time where it was out of service within days of repair three times in a row until it got properly fixed, I guess. - Mailboxes were broken into and it took 5 months for new ones to be installed. - The apartment's fire alarm system was entirely replaced in 2022. The ordeal lasted almost a full year with dozens of days where the fire alarms needed to be tested throughout the whole building. I searched my email and I have almost 100 emails of testing and upgrade reminders... These were 9-5 on weekdays and sometimes involved people entering your unit. Must have been awful for pets and remote workers. Hopefully another full upgrade is not necessary soon so you might be spared but it was truly an awful experience. - The apartment decided to construct new apartments in the garage. The construction lasted about 3 months and was very very loud at times. Another situation where you did not want to be in the apartment during the day. The units look very nice and modern but some of the architectural choices are wild. There's one unit where the door is in the garage and the dumpsters are directly next to the door lol. Hopefully that unit has a street entry somewhere... - Insects flying around outside the entrance on my side of the building. Not a huge deal but just somewhat gross. Seemed to be a pretty persistent problem, not sure if it was the plant selection or pet-friendly nature of the building. - I suppose if you're lucky you won't encounter any of these random awful experiences but feels like you'll hit at least a few if you live here several years. read more

We've been here for nearly a year. We love our apartment, and the amenities. The building is very nice, and well-maintained (more on that below). Love the location and the neighborhood. We're really happy that the building put solar panels on the rooftops -- that is a responsible action. The service-people here are fabulous -- they show up on time, they follow through immediately with good repair work, they care about getting it right. The main problem here is with irresponsible pet owners. People let their dogs pee and poop in the hallways and elevators and then they walk away and don't even clean it up. Dis-gus-ting!!!! I've seen many dog owners who bring their dogs to the pool (against the rules) and I've been asking them not to, so the poolside area doesn't get gross also. But they are jerks and not only break the rules but get aggressive about their "right" to do so. The management have yet to deal with this issue. read more

Please be aware when you move in: They will nickle and dime you (or worse) for your security deposit. Could be $200/$300 could be $1000 for a new carpet. It's blatantly illegal under California law (just google normal wear and tear in CA) but they know 95% of tenants will give up fighting it. When you move in don't agree to everything being in perfect condition, make sure to actually give everything a good look, etc. That being said the problem is not the staff of the building who I think did a good job - albeit with some exceptions - but the fact this is owned and run by a large corporation. Just look at the recent reviews - clearly corporate is pushing them to keep tenants in leases at high rates during covid (duh). You get the pros of an easy to use website to sign a lease, generally decent maintenance, etc. But the con is you will be charged around every corner when possible. At the end of the day it's a trade off. Having rented in SF in the peak of the boom where individual landlords were pushing dilapidated studios for $3k+, 2000 Post wasn't great but it was fine. You'll have the same problem you'd have in any big building in the city, bad neighbors, etc but nothing crazier than anywhere else. Otherwise just know what you're getting into, the security deposit nonsense ruined an otherwise average apartment experience. Do yourselves a favor and DO NOT move into this building. While the units themselves and the amenities are nice, the team managing this apartment is atrocious. My husband and I have lived at 2000 Post for almost two years, and are fantastic tenants. We've had ongoing issues with an aggressive neighbor, yet the team did absolutely nothing. We sent over 20 emails and probably 10 unreturned phone calls, before making the decision to break our lease and leave. We would certainly have stayed through our lease, but the conditions were unlivable and the building management gave us no other choice. I appreciate how difficult it must be during this time, but believe that residents safety and happiness should take precedent over all else. Aggressive neighbor aside, we were not given any money back for the months we were unable to use the amenities, they incorrectly charged us for a service animal (and took weeks to correct it), and we had to endure almost weekly fire alarms. TL;DR you are much better off finding a different apartment, that will likely cost you a lot less money, and treat you way better. read more

I used to really love living here but since the pandemic they have shown very little humanity or reason. The staff are rarely on site so it's incredibly difficult to get any assistance. My calls go unanswered and my emails too. All of the amenities are closed which makes sense with Covid but I recently found out they're advertising the pool being open to potential tenants. Either they haven't notified us of that or they're lying. New apartments are reflecting the low costs of the market but they are unwilling to negotiate my ridiculous $3400 rent (for a studio) even though I informed them of my loss of income. My neighbours feel the same way. Where's the kindness 2000 post? You're eating into my savings and causing me a great deal of monetary stress and you won't even respond to my emails. Nice. read more

Update: For the record, every single staff member I've ever dealt with at 2000 Post is amazing. They are always polite and do their absolute best to help with whatever you need. My issue is with UDR and UDR alone. The leasing office staff doesn't contract the washer/dryer company that poorly maintains their machines--UDR does. The leasing office staff doesn't decide to remove posts on the community message board warning people that the dryers are a fire hazard--UDR does. The leasing office staff doesn't handle whatever the hell is wrong with the fire alarm that constantly goes off until it's broken (or possibly deactivated by the fire department, who must be tired of being called to our building multiple times a month). That's UDR. Everyone who works here at the facility is absolutely amazing. If UDR punishes the accommodating staff because I left a poor review, I will absolutely update again to let everyone know that UDR continued to be a terrible property management company. Original review: We've had many issues here, but the most concerning was the deactivated fire alarm that we received no notice of. 2000 Post could be a great place to live and there a few staff members who do a great job. Unfortunately, the building management is focused squarely on profiteering rather than providing a stable environment. In the last few months, we've experienced: Toilet out of order for multiple days: Our toilet broke, flooding our bathroom, ruining a number of items. We then spent two days having to walk to another floor to use the bathroom. They installed an old toilet from another apt but it still needs repair - no response from management, despite multiple follow ups - it's been 2 months! Security: The building security is lax. Recently the stairwell was used for serious drug abuse and when a resident posted the picture, management's response was "Security is not absolute". Cleanliness: While it would be nice to use the pool. Their pictures do not show the large amount of dirt building up in the pool. When presented with picture evidence - management's response was "The pool is cleaned every day". Apparently not. Unfortunately, it seems the new management has set the focus against residents. read more

This is my second time returning to the 2000 Post community in the past few years. After leaving the first time, I decided to come back because it was such an amazing place to live. When I first moved here from New York, it was the perfect place to establish myself in San Francisco and settle in. The amenities including the gym, pool, and hot tub are some of the best for an apartment complex in San Francisco. The staff is very caring, and the maintenance crew is always on top of everything whenever you need help. They really make it feel like a strong community. The rooms are spacious, and our windows currently has a nice view of the pool. (I highly recommend the pool view rooms!) The walls seem pretty thick, so you have plenty of privacy from your neighbors. The neighborhood is Lower Pac Heights, and it's right between Divisadero and Fillmore. Both have great options for food, bars, coffee shops, and groceries. The walk score is incredible, and is a great place to live if you have dogs because there are parks everywhere and everyone has a dog. The weather also seems to be better in this part of the city because of its' micro climate. If you're looking for a strong community with a great SF neighborhood feel, this is your place! read more

The absolute worst apartment I've ever lived in. Landlords are unresponsive. The apartment has gone steadily downhill since we moved in at the beginning of the pandemic. The building also charges ridiculous fees - for example when we moved out in Nov 2021, we were charged $249 for paint. I have not received a response to several emails I have sent requesting more information about the charge. Please save yourself the stress dealing with terrible management and find another place to live! read more

Zero star if I could give any star. I am so disappointed in this building and it's management. All the units facing the pool are super noisy. Also stay away from apt 414 at 1626 pierce street address of 2000 post street in this building that overlooks the swimming pool since the tenant below doesn't like to have someone living above his roof , he constantly bangs on your door harassing you in the middle of night. I am glad I left 414 otherwise I would have sued this tenant. I am sure there was something wrong with him. Oh management there didn't help with this situation at all and actually backed this guy up. We moved to 2000 post last July from the Midwest and did not have a chance to visit any apartments in SF. Our search was just relying on websites and video chats/photos being sent, but the experience with 2000 post was really great! The staff was very friendly and patient with all our questions and anxieties moving to a new city with no idea what to expect in SF. We have had a really great experience living here almost one year now. There's always some fun events being hosted, the amenities are great, and staff is super nice and accommodating. The package locker system is great, but it can get really overloaded (especially during the holiday season), so at times packages are all over the lobby and then stored away (which is fine to me to ensure packages aren't stolen). The apartment did purchase more locker systems for the packages which was great and showed they really do make efforts to improve any issues there are. One thing I can't stand though is the fire alarm system here. It's horrendously loud -- like unnecessarily loud. A few decibels lower would be sufficient (believe me). It's very sensitive and usually the reason it is set off is because residents will open their door to let out any smoke which triggers the alarms to go off. Maintenance here is very quick and friendly as well. They always address our issues promptly (and they're kind to our dog). We looked at other apartments as our lease has been coming to an end, but you really can't beat the price, amenities, location (literally the best IMP) and the layouts of apartments here. We are in a studio and the way they have them setup here is incredibly efficient and seems like much more space than other comparable studios we have seen with the same or more square footage. We ended up releasing (just in an upgraded studio) because we love it here so much. read more

I am a current resident in 2 bed apartment who is moving out because I wanted a place for myself. You would wonder why not get a 1 bed here at 2000 post. Read on: First the positives: - The neighborhood: I love i can walk to fillmore, have a cute coffee shop downstairs, Jane bakery nearby. I go workout in the Alta Park which is few blocks. It has started to get a bit shady beyond Post but overall it's quite good & convenient - The amenities: When they mattered, they were good. The gym was solid not the tiny ones with free weights only but one where you can do your bench press etc. Pool and hot tub were quite nice, though i wonder when will they be used next - The apartment layout: While the size is okayish, i like that both bedrooms have a master layout with walk in closet and bathroom Now the Negatives: - Expensive: Even in COVID when everyone is running 15 - 20% less, they increased our rent by 6% lol I didn't care as i had to move to one bed anyways but it was almost hilarious. The rent go up crazy here and there is no negotiation - none. - The Staff: Truly terrible. I am not surprised seeing Gunther's name in some reviews. But most of them treat the residents very badly. - Malpractices: My roommate has lost her job due to COVID and has not been able to pay her rent last few months - and she is covered by Cali law (she has end of year to clear her account). As it happened that due to an auto pay set up, I accidentally paid $700 extra in rent in the last month. I called them to help as my and their response was, I quote "We don't care if you paid 10 thousand extra. once it's in our account its your mistake and the money is ours. You should ask your roommate" I said, 'hey, she lost her job, i can't be asking her". Her response: " I don't care if she lost her job, once the money is in our bank account, she needs to pay" and she slammed the phone. TBH, $700 sure, my mistake, that's not the point, but the lack of empathy, the tone, that just made me feel there is lack of humanity. Even if I was considering looking at a one bed here - which i wasn't because the rates are too high - no way! Oh and btw, not to forget, the frequent random fire alarms which are well covered in other reviews. So many times I had to stop my calls, or wake up mid night to go stand outside. My husband and I lived here for 3 years with little complaints, overall it was an OK experience. The reason for my one start review is because of our experience moving out and breaking our lease. Due to COVID and the extreme change in price (we paid $3400+ while the advertised prices are $2400) and lack of management made us rethink the end of our year. As many of the recent comments express, management does NOT respond to ANYTHING. I mean literally, NO response for days/weeks. I had to finally call HQ to get the attention of management and once I did, NO apology at all. Such disrespect and a huge waste of time (and stress!!!) for being loyal tenants for three years. When I moved to SF last year, my girlfriend and I found this spot as one of few pet-friendly apartments available within our price range. We were quickly sold on the safety, convenience, and amenities. However, this shortly changed once construction started 2 months later, which we were not notified of prior to signing. Pros: -Convenient Location -Maintenance Staff - Robert + Chris are fantastic! We almost stayed just due to Chris (who despite being overworked, is always friendly and attentive) Cons: -Price : 1 BR was $3K, but the numerous fees are what gets you. Garbage + Water flat rate is $140, parking is $250, Pet fee is $80. After dealing with these prices for year, we were rewarded with a 22% rent increase. At least they could buy us dinner first..... -Mice infestation (Mice infested our walls and woke us up each night to constant scratching in the drywall. Manager said that our dog was likely attracting them. However, once we caught 8 in 2 weeks, they finally agreed to treat our apartment) -Dishonest Management: Construction was intrusive and not appropriately represented. We drove for 3 days to move to SF from Kansas City. When we arrived, we were exhausted. Gunther was very nice and helped us with all of the move-in process. We found little personalized house-warming gifts around the apartment, even a bowl with dog stuff for our pup. We loved the apartment, the building, and the neighborhood immediately. It made us feel much better, as we didn't even have time to visit before moving in. The interior courtyards are a great amenity - we spend a lot of time relaxing at the pool and in the hot tub. The gym is also great, as it has a lot of equipment. Saved me the expense of a gym membership! read more

This building is very beautiful from the outside, but don't be fooled by appearances! It has deteriorated a lot in recent years. First, it is better to be dog friendly because half of the people who live here own at least one, so there's lot of barking. What's worse is some owners do not clean up the poop which is often left in the hallways or the elevator. Being a dog owner myself I feel very uncomfortable because I think people look at me and think I am someone who doesn't clean up after their dog.. You'll also find once inside all of the hallways on the 4th floor with residences have become invaded by garbage from people too lazy to walk it out to the dumpster. Apparently these people would much prefer having you see and smell their trash than themselves.. Not a day goes by without trash and debris blocking the passage in the hallway. And unfortunately this trash is even near the elevators so you have no choice but to pass in front of it every day. Lately homeless people have started to build encampments and sleep at night all along the building and under the eaves near the front entrance of courtyard on Post Street In short, building management is failing in its responsibility to manage and keep a clean and safe building for its residents. When we toured 2000 Post, we felt like we found our future home. We applied for a unit that was similar, but not identical to the apartment home that we toured. We foolishly didn't ask our leasing agent Günther questions about the differences, and when we arrived on move-in day, we were disappointed to see carpeting in our unit. Fortunately, Tran (Community Director) and Chris were more than gracious and offered to show us another available unit with more a modern flooring, lighting, and kitchen design. We were able to transfer our lease and move-in that same day. We were also touched by the welcome package that Günther set up for us, which was full of all of the essentials for your first day--water and snacks, hand and body soap, a roll of paper towels and toilet paper, ingredients and a mini colander for pasta, and information about our new apartment community and neighborhood. Tran, Günther, and Chris were all extremely helpful during our move-in process. Every question and request was answered. We felt like valued tenants from the first day! read more

I used to see reviewers like what I'm about to write as crazy people or whiners -- but no, this is truly a total mess of a complex. Again, I highly recommend anyone viewing this sorts the Yelp reviews by date to get the most recent 1-2 years in the building. My rent was recently raised to $3300 base (for a tiny STUDIO) + $75 pet rent + $250 for parking (where break ins are common), that's $3,625 for a tiny studio under constant construction, with unresolved maintenance issues (warped hardwood floors from their flooding through patio door, crappy pumping, constant garbage smell from my unit, and mice (as referenced by other tenants on Yelp). Current market rate for my same studio on Craigslist is $2795 -- but don't be fooled, they'll up that very quickly increase that as soon as your first year is up. We've had 40+ fire alarms in the last 6 months, including at 2am and 4am in the morning, for no actual fires. Construction deadlines promised since my last review this summer, are now "indefinite" with no schedule progress on projects like the patios, pools, roofing, windows, and siding. Elevators have been down for 4-6 months. Now from the street you can see the scaffolding and construction mess, which is constant and unpredictable. During the rain earlier this month, the unfinished roofing leaked into many units, filling walls and ceilings with water. Garbage is constantly backed up. The only highlights are the renovated gym and package locker system -- which is probably what you'll see on a tour as a new tenant. read more

So here's the real deal! There are some really amazing folks who work at 2000 post. They should and are rewarded by positive yelp reviews! That is one good thing to be said about UDR management! This was once a lovely place to live w/ fantastic amenities and tenant service. It is absolutely NOT anymore! If you have read any of the current honest reviews regarding demolition, they should be taken to heart! UDR has undergone MAJOR demolition and reconstruction of this building beginning last November 2014. Management has not been transparent in their doings. They have held meetings with the tenants and blatantly lied about obtaining construction permits that did not exist! Blatant disregard of security, safety and ADA compliance remain an ongoing battle! Disclosure regarding the significance of work being done was only shared after tremendous tenant concerns. So many folks have been up in arms over the constant noise of jack-hammering and building construction! This complex has a long laundry list of renovations still to be completed; residing the building, re-roofing, replacing the windows, completing construction of the gym, lobby, meeting room, pool, jacuzzi, courtyards, returning mailboxes to the lobby, (currently housed in the garage), updating fob entry system, and updating laundry rooms. All of this should be lovely when they're actually finished. In the meantime the legality and efficacy of this work is very questionable, disruptive, noisy and unsafe! read more

Living there is good, good location. However- their billing practices are predatory. The head of the department is less the friendly as well, Heather Martinez. They make outgoing residents pay for renovations for the incoming tenants so they do not end paying a dime. Of course if you ask or question they state look at your lease fair enough, big corporations will get their cut. My husband and I were clean and orderly people, they charged us a pet cleaning fee, and charged us to RE-carpet the ENTRIE APARTMENT despite my dogs not being in the apartment the last 8 months- something about finding "pet damage". Despite having old, nasty carpet when we moved in, they charged a full carpet changing when we left- for labor and costs- I'm sure those working were not in a rush to finish since it was on our tab. It's a shame- UDR is the type of place that doesn't mind screwing good people. This complex especially because of the San Francisco market. SOOOO PLEASE RECONSIDER LIVING HERE!!! After paying this last bill we- will close this chapter and never rent from this company again and I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND this place to friends family. read more

5 star goes to Chris. He is genuinely great. Who is always lively, happy & gets the work done pronto. UDR needs to promote him & hire more people like him to run the show. It's very inhospitable at the moment. Always short staffed & priority is only given to new tenants. Be ready to waste time if your down at the front office. Cleanliness - poor, flies every where. Dust from the never ending construction just get piled on & on. No sign of pest control in the building at all. The poorly lite hallways are disturbing & the parking garage reeks of urine almost every other day. Safety - two bikes got stolen from the garage the other day. One was mine. Thanks to the security guards they hired. They are helping reduce unemployment. They have brand new fabs for the doors but the irony is - the doors don't close. Value for money - Terrible. If the front office was more hospitable id consider a 2 star. It's a shit show here. Can't even sleep beyond 7:30 am on weekends due to construction. We were told that construction would be over by July ... Looks like they are half way through at the moment & plans to complete the entire renovation by early next year. There are great apartments on filmore. Just a block away which has better reviews, amenities & is for sure a lot more frugal. read more

This has to be one of the worst places to live in SF. Do not live here. The Complex smells, pool/ jacuzzi is unusable most of the time. The gym either has broken equipment or missing equipment. The front desk is so unhelpful. They will charge you so much for random things in the aparment after moving out. I had a situation with my roomate and told them about it because he was in violation of the lease policy.I reported it because I didn't want to get evicted or charged and they pretty much told me I am screwed as well because it is a joint lease. Anything he does I am reliable for as well. They will literally offer no help for anything and try to take your money. read more

This apt complex is a corporate complex that is well staffed. You move in with expectations of bureaucracy that comes with corporate apt complexes but feel at home when you see regular staff working, caring, and smiling at you day in and day out. Recently, I was given a wonderful gift set by the staff here for my 1st child. Heather greeted me and told me it was a "lil something". But something this small to them was actually a gesture that made my pregnancy and welcoming my first child into this building so much more welcoming. I actually made a mistake mentioning Heather. Danielle provided my husband and I a baby welcome gift. Thank you Danielle! We can't wait to show off our lil one as soon as we see you in the lobby! read more
