To call this French is an insult to France! I was born and…read moreraised in France, getting my bakery goods in the mornings from bakery down the street. The ambience was nice and so was service, but that's where the good things end. This was a disaster and shameful that it's called French. Serving croissants and eclairs and putting French names to menu items does not make something French. We ordered a turkey omelette with eggs on top, an eclair, a chocolate croissant, a croissant with ham and cheese and tomato and lettuce, and a cream filled beignet. Let's start with the bakery goods. All bakery goods should be made fresh that same morning. The croissants, and pastries all should be flaky and taste fresh. These were hard as if they were all yesterday's leftovers. The filling on the beignet was obviously a Jell-O pudding mix, and definitely not homemade. The eclair for some reason had some kind of supposed chantilly cream and raspberry instead of the traditional filling, and both of those fillings were also all store-bought. The eclair was also stale and tasted like it had been in the fridge since yesterday. The omelette was an absolute joke. If you look at the picture I posted, my index finger was actually taller than the entire omelette which is supposed to be filled with ham and cheese as you can see from the post photo. The ham and cheese were also packaged meat and cheese as you can tell since they all were sliced exactly in the same way and same size and tasted processed, and the cheese wasn't even melted completely. The omelette was just incredibly dry and bland. The croissant suffered from the same disease. It was hard, not flaky, and tasted stale as if it had been made yesterday, and all of the meat and cheese was obviously packaged meat and cheese which tasted processed. This tastes nothing like anything you would find at any French bakery in France. In France. Everything is made the same day, and the moment it starts going stale and stops being flaky, is thrown away. This is an absolute insult to French bakeries. Even if you compare it to other American bakeries and breakfast places, nothing tasted good and for that price, it should. Definitely avoid this place. I know I will.

This is a real bakery with real ingredients that are good for you. I was shocked to find it in Clearwater! This place is special! The moment i first walked in It felt like being back home in NJ. Not only did I feel like I was home Ron the owner immediately made me feel like an old friend or should I say felt like I was part of the family. Ron besides being friendly and inviting is also a foodie by heart! Not only is he a foodie he is a food snob but I say that with kindness and as a compliment since that has paid off in the variety and his insistence of quality (and I stress quality!) of the products he purveys. Ron shared with me the names of the suppliers he uses for everything from the top bagel maker in the county to his bread and roll baker to the bakery he gets his donuts and pastries from they are all rated the best in the Tampa Bay Area. I immediately got excited when I saw the pastries in his showcase. I scoped out the jelly donuts and immediately realized that these were not Dunkin or lowly Publix donuts but these were SPECIAL!!! They immediately brought memories of my childhood and my father bringing me to a REAL bakery to get the powdered jelly donuts I loved and savored as a child...But wait a minute these donuts were something different they were huge like the size of a baby"s head! They turned out to be everything I dreamed and craved about for years and even more due to their size!!!! I marveled at the delicious-looking and so inviting Italian breads and rolls that were on display for sale. This café is a labor of love on Ron's part not only does he insist on providing quality goods Ron shared with me that he's out the door at 4:30 A.M.daily to make his run to pick up the days baked goods from his three suppliers! The café provides really tasty and delicious coffee, lattes, cappuccinos, and espresso drinks as well. I sampled an Americano coffee which I purposely ordered black so that I could taste the quality of the beans and the brew and I've got to say the coffee was dark, rich, bold and inviting. Did I tell you they make some mean breakfast and lunch sandwiches? It again brings me home to see a and I firmly say for you former New Jerseyites a Taylor Ham and egg and cheese on a delicious roll on the breakfast menu! I want to go back to try one of the daily lunch specials they offer. Someone shot pictures of the meatballs Ron's wife makes for their lunchtime meatball parm sandwiches and they looked so inviting. Ron mentioned to me that his wife makes all the Italian dishes and sauces that they serve and also offer for sale in the freezer display case in the café. Ron is so proud of the items that he offers that he gave me both an apple fritter and a loaf of the Italian bread he sells and makes his sandwiches with to bring home and sample and I've got to say both baked items were delicious especially the semolina bread which reminded me again about the real Italian bread I would get in North Jersey and in Little Italy in NYC. Ron also shared with me his plans for expansion. Business is going so well that Ron has taken over the adjoining storefront to be able to provide more tables and seating for his customers. It's really good to see a new business thriving in Dunedin. Don't pass Main Street Brews by, stop in and say hello to Ron and try something delicious!
