They open at 6:30 (the time we had to have our bags set out before we head to Kenai today) so this was a convenient option. I know the main restaurant, North Fork, opens at 6 AM as well, so there are plenty of options if you have an early excursion. My husband ordered the Alaska breakfast, and I ordered the herbivore scramble. We both opted for sourdough because Alaska has some of the best sourdough we've ever had! I'm going to have withdrawal from this when I get home. Both breakfast dishes were tasty, and the hashbrowns were cooked perfectly. Everything arrived fairly quickly, and we were served a wonderful side of real strawberry jam. Service was excellent, and there was a dedicated individual filling, coffee, cups, which absolutely warms my heart to see on a freezing Alaskan morning. I like the fireplace but it wasn't on this morning. Very pretty decor in here. This restaurant is open all three meals so they have a very big space here. $48 before tip read more

Located on Princess Lodge property. Convenient of staying there. Lots of seating and bar area. Very lodge vibe. Spent one night here. This place was only one on property that served breakfast, lunch, dinner. Hostess is pleasant. Servers very friendly and attentive. Super hyper vigilant with sanitation. Menu isn't too extensive. They do have some good cocktails. We got a margarita and blueberry concoction. Both tasty. Ordered cheese curds (very good), quesadillas with salmon that was good, and a salmon sandwich (just meh - dry). Would recommend geese curds and quesadillas for sure. This is a pricey place. Just know they are a property where most people come either before/after cruise. They know you don't have other options. read more

I began with an appetizer of white cheddar cheese curds. They were perfectly prepared and came to the table hot. I ordered the beer battered Alaskan cod, with French fries. The cod was wrapped in a delicious, crisp coating. I also ordered a mixed green salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, and croutons with ranch dressing. Every was amazingly fresh and crisp. Our server was friendly and fast! read more

Ordered the shrimp po' boy and it was not good. The bread was rock hard. Glad I upgraded to truffle fries because that was the best thing on my plate. Service was great though! Arrived at another Princess lodge on our land tour in Alaska. Went to the 20320 Alaskan Grill near our lodge for dinner. My wife ordered a salad and I ordered the Fish and Chips. We were going to split it between us, but when my wife looked at her salad, we found an earwig crawling around it. We brought this the attention of a server and they took it away bringing another salad to our table. We immediately said to take it away and didn't want it. My fish was greasy and there were way too many fries on the plate. We shared the fish and asked for mustard because we like that with our fries. The server came back stating they don't have any mustard. What? Are you kidding me? The Manager arrived and made a joke about "having extra proteins in our salad". That is not a professional manager. He should have covered the entire bill, but instead he said he would give us a piece of cheese cake. Really? Terrible service and food. Don't go on a Princess land tour in Alaska! read more

Late Post Aug 23' There wasn't much to choose from at the lodge especially because they said one would have to make reservations in advance. Got the tundra chicken caprese, mixed green salad and the classic Caesar, both were sufficient and good, partner ordered Beer, forgot which one. Our server Ann was nice and brought my sister-in-law ice cream for her bday! Very few menu options at this restaurant, and there already wasn't a ton of places to eat at this particular princess lodge. The food wasn't terrible- but nothing to write home about. The hostess' both times we arrived seemed very clueless/untrained about their own jobs but once finally seated our waiters were attentive. High prices but that was expected due to location and such. 20,320 Alaskan Grill - Chicken quesadillas, fries, pulled pork sandwich - Seafood Near Me - Trapper Creek, Alaska

"And do I love you my oh my Yeah, river deep, mountain high" (Ike and Tina Turner) The 20,320 Alaskan Grill is one of the house restaurants at the Princess Wilderness Lodge complex. Its named for the height of Denali Mountain (formerly Mount McKinley) and inside you'll see mountain-climbing decor and artifacts. Three of us had dinner here last week, and we all agreed that the Alaskan Grill menu was ion the "heavy calorie" side with lots of carb loaded and fried choices. Some of the things we ordered on our meal plan were an artichoke dip/bread bowl appetizer, a spinach salad with a scoop of chicken salad, nachos, crab leg plate, a grilled cheese plate, and a reindeer meatloaf plate. The $30 reindeer meatloaf was mine, and it was a dissapointment. It was wrapped n bacon, but was dense, hard to cut, and didn't have any of the soft "juiciness" characteristics I expect in a meatloaf. It was served with a creamy mushroom ragu sauce that I didn't care for. Half of it was all I could put down. Check out the Grilled Cheese my wife ordered -a massive portion of grilled bread and cheese served with a mountain of French Fries. Definitely not a low calorie choice. I did enjoy their $9 Blackberry Nojito, it was a very refreshing alcohol-free cocktail of muddled fresh blackberries. mint, lime, and soda water. When we walked in for dinner the place was pretty empty. When we walked out an hour later, the place was packed. No doubt the cruise ships had emptied a lot of hungry customers into the Princess Wilderness Lodge. read more

Summary: Lackluster food with sky high prices. Unfortunately no real options in the area Service: Friendly server who kept our water cups filled. He remembered to bring the condiments as requested, just a minor slip up with who placed what order Food: I realize it's Alaska but a 19 burger state side taste like it was made with a hand made beef patty. These patties taste like a frozen hamburger patty, however I cannot confirm that without knowing the suppliers. Regardless the burger was very plain with a lack of seasoning which can of course be seen with frozen hamburger patties. The flat bread pizza was one of the worst. The crust was somehow very greasy and the garlic aioli did not complement the meal Ambiance: plenty of seating for lunch, but the dinner wait was atrocious and we had to skip dinner Tips (what I wish I knew before): If your on a land tour, you will have no choice but to eat here or the bar at lunch; and if you can't get reservations at the other restaurant you will be stuck here wait for hours to get a table. Princess should be ashamed at only having these options for meals when you are held captive on their property as the closest town is 45 minutes away read more

This restaurant was open for breakfast & dinner, and we tried both. Jeremiah took care of us at dinner, and Grace took care of us for dinner that night. Both were friendly, efficient, and made sure we were happy with what we ordered. For breakfast, we could not substitute or add anything not printed with that item on the menu. If we had had to eat here more than once, this would not have have been acceptable. So once was enough, even with good service. We had the skillet scrambled eggs with caribou, bison, and reindeer sausage with sourdough bread and delicious strawberry jam. We also had orange juice and cranberry juice. It was a good breakfast. Dinner was overwhelming - in the proportion of food, not service. Grace was exceptional and made the dinner nicer than the food. Husband had the barbecue wings for his starter (outstanding!) and I had a half Caesar salad (more than enough). He had the 12" McKinley meat pie which would have been enough for both of us. Unfortunately it had a soggy crust (not crisp, the way he likes it) and it was too much food (ate only a couple of slices). I had the prime rib with mashed potatoes (not creamy, but hard) and I asked for no green beans (it would have been too much food). I ate most of the prime rib, but only a bite of mashed potatoes. We couldn't take any leftovers with us - no fridge and no microwave. We had room for dessert - he had the Oreo Cream Pie & I had huckleberry ice cream. Of the two experiences here, Grace was the best and the starters & desserts were the best! read more

This was one 2 restaurants at Mt. McKinley Wilderness Lodge, and we chose to just have appetizers here. Well, just like the lodge itself, this restaurant was quite antiquated...looked as if it had been around for hundreds of years! Again, I'm sure it was really nice when it was in its prime. As expected, the food wasn't much better. I had Clam Chowder...and it was about as bad as the one I had in Talkeetna the day before. Very bland! My husband had the Crab Artichoke Dip, but they were out of their sourdough bread bowl, so substituted with standard bread. He didn't seem too thrilled with his choice either. Honestly, the foods here were no better than the ones I had in Talkeetna...and that was very bad. Still, the ambiance was a bit loftier (though heavily vintaged) than most restaurants in these parts of Alaska, and the pricing was more reasonable. read more

A LOT went wrong here today. The prime rib came out completly overdone, there was a dirty spoon with rice that came out with the chicken Alfredo, the chicken was freezerburnt at first and when they brought out a replacement it was inedible. Some of the food was cold as well. On the bright side, our service was very good. Our server was nice and management understood. I would not eat here again because the food did not match the price. read more

We had two meals here, dinner and breakfast. For dinner, we had the McKinley Meat Pie, and the Wild Alaska Salmon Chowder. The pizza was delicious, full of sausage, sausage, and more sausage. The chowder was pretty good too, thick and full of fish and vegetables. For breakfast, we had the Park Ranger Scramble and the Blueberry Patch Pancakes. I really can't get enough of reindeer sausage. It went well with the scrambled eggs, ham and bacon. The potatoes were meh. The blueberry pancakes were soft and fluffy, we didn't really need the syrup. In all, the service was quick and the food was good. read more

Terrible, not at all What we expected. Having been at the Princess Copper river and Denali lodges which had excellent restaurants, this was hard to believe was same company. The Chicken Breast sandwich was wasn't a chicken breast but rather a pressed chicken patty like from Costco. The Handmade Salmon sandwich was thin and clearly looked processed. The wings for $16 were five small wings! The salmon Caesar had about a 2oz peice of salmon ($16 extra) and was terrible, sent it back for chicken and got cubes chicken patty! Terrible food!! The salmon dinner looked good and tasted good, rest was horrible! read more

Much better since COVID, probably because there are fewer people travelling. Before COVID, we had 45 minutes until our morning bus and ... our food came out about 40 minutes later. Others on our tour either went without or were able to get a quick to-go box of something to eat. AFTER COVID, we sat down, said that we were in kind of a hurry, and our food came out almost immediately! I think that they streamlined their menu so that they were making food based on what was expected and getting it out faster for the breakfast crowd. Lilly gets all 5-stars for getting us in and out with time to spare. For dinner, the cheese curds were kind of amazing. Very lightly breaded. I'd rather have had an alfredo dipping sauce, due to acid reflux, but they were like little cheese sticks. The spring salad was pretty standard. The pizza was a lot of bread and not particularly crispy, so I ate the toppings, which was just about perfect for me. (Who can eat that much bread/crust?!?) The prime rib was also cooked more like a medium well than a medium rare. We had to request the au jus and horseradish. The horseradish (not the creamy kind) had a kick! The Oreo dessert was amazing. The cheesecake topped with dried blueberries had ... half a blueberry. While this isn't one of the best meals I've ever had in a restaurant, the staff was friendly, the food was good for a restaurant set up to serve hundreds a night and make it seem like each person is special. I think they do well with what they've got and what they're there for. There are TWO Pokemon Go stops within range of the restaurant. read more

Best food experience at a Princess lodge. Service is another story. Atrocious. Nobody cares. Nobody is managing it. I'm tired of the "short staffed" or early in the season excuses. Hmmm. We had dinner here, and all 5 of us in the party agreed we wouldn't recommend the food. My husband ordered the Poutine as an appetizer, as we have had it in Canada and it was super delicious. However not the case with this experience, the gravy was like congealed/shiny as well as the meatloaf gravy that two of family members ordered and it didn't look appealing. Their food was hardly touched. I had the salmon on a salad it was good. My husband had the park ranger pizza he said it was okay. The only positive of this dining experience was our server Eric, from Miami. Great personality and he tried really hard to make up for the lack of a good dinner. We were very honest with him and explained that the food was not good, however his service was really the best part of our dining experience. read more

Well, we waited for 15 minutes and I was excited for the blueberry salmon, then they told us that they ran out of propane! Really?!?! Soooo yea. No food so I can't rank the stars on the food but I gave them a 1 Star for the management not being prepared by having enough propane to finish the evening!!!! Ok since I originally gave this place a 1 Star review for poor management and not the food, I have to be totally honest and rate it for the food since we did have breakfast the next morning after they overnighted the propane and fixed the originally issue. Breakfast: The wife had scrambled eggs skillet and said it was very good especially the fresh buttermilk biscuit. I have the wilderness breakfast with 2 fried eggs, toast, fried potatoes and reindeer sausage. Definitely a hardy breakfast that will fill you up. The coffee was really good too. Nice atmosphere and view, but the food and drinks were nothing to write home about. The restaurant is outside of the main lobby of the Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge by the fireside patio. I went there to dinner with my mother since the menu variety looked better than the Base Camp Bar & Grill and would 't require reservations or a long wait like the North Fork. The interior of the restaurant is comfortable, like a rustic Alaskan ski lodge. We were seated by the window where we had a nice view of the mountains. I ordered a blueberry mojito, which tasted...off. I think the limes were bad judging by the color. My mom and I shared the crispy ravioli appetizer, which was tasty. We both got a side Caesar salad and a bowl of the smoked salmon chowder. The chowder was delicious, with chunks of smoked salmon, potatoes, corn, and a little kick of spiciness. The Caesar salad wasn't great, mainly because they were skimpy with the dressing. Prices were reasonable (by Alaska restaurant standards). The server was nice, but could have been more attentive. It was fairly busy since it was dinner time, but she spent what felt like an hour chatting with a middle-aged couple from Wisconsin at the table right next to us. She didn't refill our drinks or even asked if we wanted refills. I get that some of the tourists are chatty, but come on, you have other tables to serve. Maybe if we were tourists we would have gotten better service (I showed my ID to get my drunk so she saw I live in Alaska) Overall a decent place for a meal if you're at the lodge and don't want to go too far. But don't go in expecting a fine dining experience. read more

20,320 Alaskan Grill - Looks good taste bad. - Seafood Near Me - Trapper Creek, Alaska

One of the two places to dine at the Mt McKinley Wilderness Lodge. I've noticed all the restaurants in Alaska are on the pricey side due to importing & shipping of supplies. This place was no different and unfortunately the taste of the items didn't match the dollar amount. We ate here twice, for breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is pretty good. The Alaskan breakfast is the way to go plus any of the skillets are delish too. The service is attentive and staff seems more cheery and less stressed. As for dinner, it didn't come close to how breakfast was. The wings were over fried leading them to being too tough to eat and came with only 5 to an order. For $9.95, that is a robbery. The blueberry salmon I ordered was alright; the salmon was cooked perfectly but was overpowered by the taste of blueberries (actual blueberries were put on top to blend into the salmon). I don't mind blueberries but noticed some people who ordered it felt the dish didn't have that balance between sweet and salmon flavor. Dessert was probably my highlight with huckleberry ice cream. That's something you can't screw up even if you tried. Fortunately they didn't. While overpriced, it's a cheaper option than the dining room in the lobby although I prefer that place for dinner. But it depends what your wallet is calling for. Remember you get what you paid for + overpricing. read more

The "vegetable pad Thai" was literally at least 8oz of super sugary peanut sauce (think: bowl of curry but a commercial such jiggling in the bowl) drowning extra fine rice noodles, a scattering of diced frozen carrots, 2 very small pieces of broccoli and some green onion/peanut topping. Inedible. $26. We won't be going back but eating in nearby Talkeetna instead. This lodge & restaurants are kind of a scam cuz you're a captive audience and the food is both expensive and very sub par. read more

We had a horrible experience here with service. We were seated for 45 minutes and was never even given the opportunity to order. There were only a few tables occupied and more staff than customers present. When we asked another server to send ours, we were told that our server was gone to lunch and no one else could serve us. We wound up leaving and going to Base Camp Bar and the service was phenomenal. It was hard to believe they are owned by the same company. read more

This is a deceptively very large Princess Lodge restaurant. Service was adequate given that the place was packed, and food quality was quite good. I asked, and chefs apparently are not the trained the same (as far as menu offerings) as those on Princess cruise ships, but they are quality chefs and under the same corporate ownership. We had salmon cakes, prime rib, and a nice mac n' cheese with mushrooms and reindeer sausage. They know how to efficiently handle large crowds, and we had a nice dinner here for the one night we were at the Mt. McKinley Princess Lodge. ps - the number 20320 is the elevation of Mt. First, the view is one of the best. You are sitting in the wilderness surrounded by huge mountains! The restaurant is a round cabin-style building itself with large windows so it's very bright during the day. We ordered wild Alaskan salmon of course! It was amazing. Fresh, properly cooked and seasoned. We also had the crabs and they tasted succulent! The food was good but not impressive. After all there wasn't much competition in the area. And therefore, the restaurant was super busy. I remember waiting half an hour before our food came out. The servers were not attentive, probably because of the busy hours. It's a really nice restaurant to dine in, but you have to expect a bit of a wait for the food. Luckily there wasn't a line for the restaurant. Considering the limited options at the McKinley Princess Lodge, the 20,320 Alaskan Grill is the better choice. The Mountaineer skillet was tasty and so filling! I couldn't finish the potatoes after eating the eggs and biscuit! The biscuit was on the smaller side, but it was just the right size for a jam-filled snack to end the meal. My mom had the Iditarod Scramble, which was easily shared by two people.
