I thought Kim was a skilled practitioner and I really loved my first treatment. However, for the 2nd & 3rd treatments, I had a very different experience. I felt she spent hardly any time with me, didn't read my pulses, put needles in, left then didn't come back for 20-25 mins when she had me turn over and put more needles in, then left again, with no questions of follow-up how I was doing, etc. She did do some short moxibustion treatment for 6 minutes at the end of the treatment. I think she can be a skilled acupuncturist, but for myself, I would prefer to have my practitioners be people who express more care and are more present with the treatment. If she was as consistent in her care for the other treatments as she was for the first one, I would leave a 5-star review. The last treatment was so deficient, that I left feeling pretty bad. I would rather spend my money on practitioners who sincerely work with more care about their patients. read more

I've seen Kim 8 times now, and brought my gf along for two sessions too. She is excellent: friendly, down to earth, efficient, precise, with fair pricing. Her needle work has remedied headaches, general fatigue, knee and shoulder issues, and irritability, and low energy levels. Thanks to her, I feel like myself again. read more

Kim is an exceptional at what she does! I have been seeing for almost 2 years and always come out of my appointments feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, healed. She is compassionate, always concerned and very knowledgeable about how my body works. She listens to what the problem may or may not be and knows exactly what to do to work toward healing it. Her office is really clean & comfortable. Your private room is always well equipped with what she needs, (even music) to make you better and more relaxed. I highly recommend Kim to help you, whether it's to heal something that's bothering you or to just have regular visits to keep you in good health. read more

Been doing the traditional medicine route, for years, to no avail..Highly impressed with Kim's instinctive, way of knowing my ailments. read more

Kim is an excellent practitioner and therapist! Acupuncture differs from Western medicine as it treats the whole being as well as address presenting symptoms. What constantly intrigues me is her ability to diagnose and treat body systems based on traditional Chinese prescriptions. Lots of times, the organ or area of the body under stress seems unrelated to the how the pain or discomfort manifests. As she is so clear about explaining what she is doing and how it's affecting me, it all leads to a better understanding of how my body works. Each session builds on the previous as we work towards resolving the root conflict. Relief is immediate and on-going. Kim is also very diligent about researching the best nutritional supplements to support the work she's doing. Her facility is always kept clean and tidy. Filtered water is available for drinking, as is a private bathroom. The lighting is muted and calming, with relaxing music to help you relax. I highly recommend her as a health care professional! She's compassionate, patient and a great listener. You will be so happy you did! read more

Thank you to those who take the time to write reviews. Reading reviews is how I found Kim. Kim is amazing, she is always attentive, I mean she really listens, is efficient and friendly. She seems to thrive on challenges and would actually do research to find what worked best for me especially regarding my auto-immune disease. She has a wealth of knowledge on natural herbal supplements which combined with acupuncture I feel she is giving me the best well-rounded treatment I have found. I suffer from a progressive auto-immune disease with related side effects and also from lower back pain. Acupuncture is new to me and honestly I was a bit nervous at first. Kim quickly put my mind to rest. She got right '2 the point' on our first consultation and what is amazing to me (a new experience) is how she focused on me and my symptoms as a whole, each symptom with some connection to the other. She found where and what needed to be treated and how to treat it. She would always be clear as to what she was doing so I was never apprehensive. I look forward to my treatments, her office is clean, comfortable and so peaceful. I also look forward to seeing Kim, she brightens up my day. I have found relief through her care in so many areas, including some relief from the side effects of my auto-immune disease. It didn't happen overnight so be patient. Best thing is, I have more energy and less pain. read more

Kim has a very welcoming, knowledgeable and beneficial practice. I was referred to her by a friend who spoke greatly of her skill in acupuncture, and the three sessions I went to, rid my body of the pain I was feeling due to past injuries. She listened to the problems with my body and focused on the areas that would help them recover. After the first session, later that night, the only thing that I could relate the feeling I felt was like I had gotten a full deep body massage. The acupuncture opened up channels in my body that were blocked due to the injuries and being out of alignment. The second and third visits further loosened up those blockages, and the pain from those areas left. I recommend acupuncture, and highly recommended Kim for her knowledge and her place of practice. I will definitely be going again. read more

One of my colleagues praised Kim and her work and suggested I visit with her. I was stressed with the pressures I was putting on myself, that I needed anything to help me relax and feel better. I was hesitant about having needles put in my body, but thought, what the heck. If it was going to help me, why not? Kim is so down to earth and straight up handing out the honest truth. I was pleasantly surprised as I had other expectations of how an acupuncturist acted. She not only treated me for my stress, but also is a great listener. I feel like Kim knows just about everyone in town. She has referred me to other individuals for other things I needed help with. I had taken a break from my regular appointments with her, and am back to seeing her on a more regular basis. With just one visit this past week, the lingering cough I have been experiencing almost every day for the past three months is almost gone! My doctors thought it was due to allergies, so they prescribed me all sorts of medicines. Nothing worked, and luckily by chance I ran into Kim and told her what was going on with me. Each visit feels like you just experienced a deep tissue massage. She has a very clean and welcoming clinic. The background music really puts you into a deeper state of relaxation. I no longer am a skeptic. I truly believe acupuncture works, especially if you have a great relationship with your acupuncturist. Don't hesitate, go and visit Kim. She might even become your new friend. read more

I've been going to Kim for the past year and she is amazing! She takes the time to hear about my needs and explains what is going on through a truly holistic lens. Kim is extremely knowledgeable about Chinese medicine and I have learned a lot from her. Kim will work with you on whatever you have going on and follows up with you. Kim is extremely easy to talk to and work with and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for acupuncture in the Hilo area! read more

Kim is as thoughtful and wise and she is skilled in her craft. Every session with her leaves me in a state of total bliss, and I definitely see major improvements in the areas we're working on. Her office is cute, clean and in a great location with easy parking. I never thought I would love (and experience so many benefits from) acupuncture as much as I do now thanks to Kim! read more

I can't speak highly enough of my experience working with Kim! From the first moment I stepped into her clean and serene-chic clinic, I knew my health was in good hands. Kim made me feel completely at ease opening up about both my injury-related physical pain as well as my deepest emotional/spiritual blocks. She is an empathic listener as well as a sharp practitioner, and has provided me with a holistic and comprehensive analysis and treatment plan that has helped me to achieve an incredible amount of growth towards my wellness goals. I have experienced an incredible amount of healing from Kim's treatment, and am forever grateful for the impact she has had on my peace and wholeness. read more

It's FUN to be on the mend! Plantar fasciitis. I had chronic heel pain for over four months but after one "Kimmie-G" intense treatment, I did not need my air cast just to be able to walk. (She said I would be getting rid of that soon-right, I said to myself-I can't walk without it and sometimes I slept with it so I could walk to the john the next morning.) After that (blood-letting, JUST kidding;), but it was intense), my son had a surf lesson the next day and I couldn't wear the boot, but I somehow managed to get around without too much pain. (Hmmm) Two days later, a second treatment. I felt I could actually return to the gym-to slowly start over again-and to be able to WALK-from the machines to the exercise matts without too much pain! With the third treatment, five days later- back at the gym, I am now without chronic pain, without the "bootie," without limping, without Dr. prescribed pain medicine, and I am WALKING!!! I went from my only hope of a normal life of having my tendon cut (a surgeon's suggestion) to the journey of "miraculously healing" of my heel, and embarking on a healing of my mind (I stopped depressing over my life) and now my spirit!! I forgot what it was like to be normal!! OMG-"Kimmie-G!!" :):):) My son is an acupuncturist in another state and spurred (no pun intended-but prior x-rays did show bone spurs on my heel-but Dr. said it was the pulling of the tendon causing the pain) me on to seek one here. Of course I was reluctant due to out-of-pocket costs but I diligently made my list to call from the web....weeks later, my son again asked if I had been...not yet, I said, but I made a list!! Providentially, I started at the bottom, and that first call referenced me to Kim Gitzel. At first sitting, only ten days ago now (!), I saw Chinese herb pain meds (what I thought my son may have as well) and I asked him about them after my first treatment. He said, "you do not need any Mom, you're on the mend." From one acupuncturist to another, he knew, and she knew, that I was "on the mend," before I even did! A wonderful glorious, made-for-me, miracle on my life! Mahalo to her expertise, her frankness, her kindness but firmness, and to her insightfulness into diagnosing myself and my body!!! And it helps that her environment of her practice is soothing, comfortable, and sparkly clean! Hats off the Kim Gitzel's caring and sharing-boot off for me! read more

My first experience with acupuncture was with Kiim Gitzel, (2 The Point Acupuncture) in Hilo. I wasn't sure what to expect or if I would even like it, but as she began to work on me, I felt a flood of energy being released at some of the various needle points. She performs her treatments with confidence and knowledge which makes you feel like you're in the best of hands. I thoroughly enjoy my visits and plan to continue as part of my overall health plan. We're lucky to have her in Hilo! read more

I came to Kim after a fall that injured my back and had me in chronic pain at only age 20 :( Kim has helped my back recover to a state where I can once again move around freely without pain! I was absolutely amazed at how quick and drastic the results were. Even more she has helped me work out many other issues and find the roots of many symptoms I have experienced without understanding for years! She has helped me overcome colds, regularize my hormones and feminine cycle, open up energy into my liver and more through acupuncture and herbs she was able to recommend and provide for extremely reasonable prices (I have compared!). Kim is highly accredited, very knowledgeable, thorough in her assessments and passionate in her helping others heal. I can not express enough how much I feel that my sessions with Kim have benefited my health, happiness and overall well being! :D read more

Kim is an gifted practitioner. Perhaps the best I have had, and I have had the best Seattle had to offer some years ago. She is sure of her craft and leaves you feeling sure of her. Her office is a clean, bright, welcoming space, and I always look forward to my treatments. She has helped me in all the areas that were giving me trouble. During a particularly stressful time she has been invaluble. I would give her six stars if I could!!! read more
