I thought Kim was a skilled practitioner and I really loved my first treatment. However, for the 2nd & 3rd treatments, I had a very different experience. I felt she spent hardly any time with me, didn't read my pulses, put needles in, left then didn't come back for 20-25 mins when she had me turn over and put more needles in, then left again, with no questions of follow-up how I was doing, etc. She did do some short moxibustion treatment for 6 minutes at the end of the treatment. I think she can be a skilled acupuncturist, but for myself, I would prefer to have my practitioners be people who express more care and are more present with the treatment. If she was as consistent in her care for the other treatments as she was for the first one, I would leave a 5-star review. The last treatment was so deficient, that I left feeling pretty bad. I would rather spend my money on practitioners who sincerely work with more care about their patients. read more

Kim is an excellent practitioner and therapist! Acupuncture differs from Western medicine as it treats the whole being as well as address presenting symptoms. What constantly intrigues me is her ability to diagnose and treat body systems based on traditional Chinese prescriptions. Lots of times, the organ or area of the body under stress seems unrelated to the how the pain or discomfort manifests. As she is so clear about explaining what she is doing and how it's affecting me, it all leads to a better understanding of how my body works. Each session builds on the previous as we work towards resolving the root conflict. Relief is immediate and on-going. Kim is also very diligent about researching the best nutritional supplements to support the work she's doing. Her facility is always kept clean and tidy. Filtered water is available for drinking, as is a private bathroom. The lighting is muted and calming, with relaxing music to help you relax. I highly recommend her as a health care professional! Kim has a very welcoming, knowledgeable and beneficial practice. I was referred to her by a friend who spoke greatly of her skill in acupuncture, and the three sessions I went to, rid my body of the pain I was feeling due to past injuries. She listened to the problems with my body and focused on the areas that would help them recover. After the first session, later that night, the only thing that I could relate the feeling I felt was like I had gotten a full deep body massage. The acupuncture opened up channels in my body that were blocked due to the injuries and being out of alignment. The second and third visits further loosened up those blockages, and the pain from those areas left. I recommend acupuncture, and highly recommended Kim for her knowledge and her place of practice. Thank you to those who take the time to write reviews. Reading reviews is how I found Kim. Kim is amazing, she is always attentive, I mean she really listens, is efficient and friendly. She seems to thrive on challenges and would actually do research to find what worked best for me especially regarding my auto-immune disease. She has a wealth of knowledge on natural herbal supplements which combined with acupuncture I feel she is giving me the best well-rounded treatment I have found. I suffer from a progressive auto-immune disease with related side effects and also from lower back pain. Acupuncture is new to me and honestly I was a bit nervous at first. Kim quickly put my mind to rest. She got right '2 the point' on our first consultation and what is amazing to me (a new experience) is how she focused on me and my symptoms as a whole, each symptom with some connection to the other. She found where and what needed to be treated and how to treat it. She would always be clear as to what she was doing so I was never apprehensive. I look forward to my treatments, her office is clean, comfortable and so peaceful. I also look forward to seeing Kim, she brightens up my day. One of my colleagues praised Kim and her work and suggested I visit with her. I was stressed with the pressures I was putting on myself, that I needed anything to help me relax and feel better. I was hesitant about having needles put in my body, but thought, what the heck. If it was going to help me, why not? Kim is so down to earth and straight up handing out the honest truth. It's FUN to be on the mend! Plantar fasciitis. I had chronic heel pain for over four months but after one "Kimmie-G" intense treatment, I did not need my air cast just to be able to walk. (She said I would be getting rid of that soon-right, I said to myself-I can't walk without it and sometimes I slept with it so I could walk to the john the next morning.) After that (blood-letting, JUST kidding;), but it was intense), my son had a surf lesson the next day and I couldn't wear the boot, but I somehow managed to get around without too much pain. (Hmmm) Two days later, a second treatment. I felt I could actually return to the gym-to slowly start over again-and to be able to WALK-from the machines to the exercise matts without too much pain! With the third treatment, five days later- back at the gym, I am now without chronic pain, without the "bootie," without limping, without Dr. prescribed pain medicine, and I am WALKING!!! I went from my only hope of a normal life of having my tendon cut (a surgeon's suggestion) to the journey of "miraculously healing" of my heel, and embarking on a healing of my mind (I stopped depressing over my life) and now my spirit!! I forgot what it was like to be normal!! OMG-"Kimmie-G!!" :):):) My son is an acupuncturist in another state and spurred (no pun intended-but prior x-rays did show bone spurs on my heel-but Dr. said it was the pulling of the tendon causing the pain) me on to seek one here. Of course I was reluctant due to out-of-pocket costs but I diligently made my list to call from the web....weeks later, my son again asked if I had been...not yet, I said, but I made a list!! My first experience with acupuncture was with Kiim Gitzel, (2 The Point Acupuncture) in Hilo. I wasn't sure what to expect or if I would even like it, but as she began to work on me, I felt a flood of energy being released at some of the various needle points.
