Worst experience I've ever had with a seamstress. I've had clothing tailored in Tokyo, Hong Kong,…read moreSingapore and New York City and this was the most bizarre customer service experience I've ever had and the worst alteration work ever! All I needed was a simple alteration to a high quality Brooks Brothers sport coat. Alter Creations owner, Martha, was indescribably rude and combative. It's hard to find the words to accurately describe the interaction with Martha. Martha was oddly standoffish and defensive right out of the gate... she wouldn't properly measure and mark the sport coat for alterations and when I asked her how she was going to make the necessary alterations once I took the sport coat off and left her shop she got angry, raised her voice and told me that I was welcomed to go elsewhere... where did this come from? To keep things flowing and because I needed the sport coat to fit and look good for my son's college graduation I actually apologized and felt like we left things on good standing. When I returned a few days later it's as if the sport coat was not even altered... when I pointed out that the coat didn't look any different than when I brought the coat in a few days earlier, Martha lost her mind again... she was rude, combative and emotionally unhinged. I knew this was going nowhere so I accepted my losses and left (I didn't wear the sports coat to my son's graduation and am looking for another seamstress in the Park City/SLC areas). Interestingly enough... I was so confused as to how this happened as I am quite the people person and am always willing to pay more for quality services. So I visited Yelp and saw Alter Creations reviews and it all became clear to me... it wasn't me! Look at the number of negative reviews and especially the comments about Martha's lack of talent and sewing skills and worse, her personality and how she interacts with the customers. I feel bad for Martha and think she should seek the support of a therapist. I didn't deserve the way that she mistreated me during my drop off and pickup visits to her shop... and the poor quality of her alterations. I'm writing this review so that others can avoid a similar experience.

Really needed a suit tailored. Looked everywhere for someone I trusted. Found Saeid at Sew N Fit…read more No longer on the hunt because I found exactly the man for the job. Saeid runs a busy shop, but is able to accommodate you if you're not asking for the universe. In my case, I needed one suit pants altered. Set me back about $75.00 - not the cheapest, but I'm willing to pay this for premium work. He had the pants completed in one week even though it would have normally taken him a little longer due to the volume of work. What I really appreciated about him was that he took the time to be human, and show interest in you. I specifically appreciated how he not only knew my name, but others who walked into his store. Great touch of customer service and shows me he has loyal customers for a reason - he's that good. After handling my pants, I was curious about some of the material in his shop. He took time to show me the low-end material vs high-end material - something I didn't realize. I now know which suit jacket lining is cheap, and which is expensive. Thanks for the education! He also explained that he can custom make suits for any occasion. I love suits too much, and I just might have to take him up on the offer in the future. All in all, great experience and happy to find Saeid. Will be using him in the future as long as I'm in SLC.

Dropping my dresses off was simple and smooth. I was a bit surprised when I arrived at Yurma's (the…read moreowner) house instead of a storefront. But she was very professional and showed me right to the changing room. Once she finished taking measurements, she told me my dresses would be done in 1 week. So we made an appointment for exactly 1 week later, I signed the form, and she gave me the price quote. Fast forward exactly 1 week later, I arrived and my dresses were not done. In fact, there was someone else there and Yurma had forgotten about my appointment entirely. So she told me she would finish the dresses by the end of the day and call me when they were ready. Two days went by and I never received a call. So I called Yurma and she said I could come the next day they would be ready. Fortunately, my dresses were ready when I arrived but I was slightly surprised that she didn't offer some kind of discount or even an apology for being 3 days late. The quality of the alterations was fine, but nothing special.

I was 6 months pregnant with my son and Yrma was able to make alterations very close to the wedding date so it fit me perfectly on the special day.
