He was the only company that gave me a written quote with equipment prices and scope of work needed. His prices were much cheaper for the same exact system that other companies wanted to charge me more. That enable me to also get new trunk and vent work replaced and a few other things too. The job was well done to my satisfaction. I highly recommend them if you need new system or service. I plan on using them again.

I love recommending Air One because they are so professional and timely. Every person we refer to Air One has been so happy with Billy and his team, it is lovely! We discovered Air One when our home's AC went out in the middle of summer. We received a few quotes and chose Billy because he was way more knowledgeable than any other company that came out to quote the job. He shared facts, information and recommended the proper sizing based on our home. He is a seasoned professional in all things HVAC related and not a salesman. He checked to make sure our system didn't just need a repair and worked with our electrician to see if the old unit could come back to life. It was grounded and couldn't be saved but I appreciated the effort and try. Billy is about putting the right unit in your home and gives you options in that range. His team went in an attic that was swelteringly hot to say the least to evaluate the situation. Install was a tough order because they were carrying a massive furnace up a flight of stairs and in an attic on newly refinished hardwood floors and painted walls. Air One was INCREDIBLY respectful of our floors and did a beautiful job. Billy made sure to put a towel down when they opened the attic door every time. If you just let him know, he makes sure his team takes great care. He went out of his way to make sure our home was without AC for the shortest amount of time possible when they was a shortage of units. His team took the absolute best care of our family. He showed up for us and cared in a manner that is rare. When we had a cooling issue pop up a few months later and my in laws were visiting he rushed out that night so my mother in law wouldn't have to sleep in a too warm home. My MIL adores Billy and the other tech that was with them. They showed up at like 7 or 9pm on a Friday night to get our system back up to full speed. When we had other remodeling work going on Billy and his team got along and worked well with our other vendors. He helped put in venting for our range hood to send the air outside rather than circulate in the home. He and his team worked with our electrician and contractor to get everything set up smoothly. We passed county inspections of the project in a breeze and the system works perfectly. (It was installed 6+ months ago.) Billy and his team continue to amaze me with their service and knowledge. They are so well versed in what they do it is refreshing. Billy is all about HVAC and helped our neighbors sort out a semi complex issue to get the house to cool evenly. Through inspecting they find the issue and present the best solution. Truly seasoned pros. They always take and share photos to show the issue with their recommendation. We just had them out to service our AC units for our home. We have been very happy with all of our Air One experiences since we started using them a year ago. I have and will continue to recommend Billy & Air One Cooling & Heating to anyone in need of HVAC help. You just will not find a better company!

On November 21, 2021, Putnam Mechanical, from Mooresville, NC, installed a Lennox HVAC system, at…read moremy business, Sweet Cakes Bakery. I have attached the copy of the contract. The contract drafted by Putnam contained an error in the model number of the air conditioner and a fraudulent representation that the unit included a "one-year parts and labor warranty and ten-year manufacturer's warranty". We relied on the ten-year manufacturer warranty when we decided to use Putnam to install a Lennox unit. We never received any paperwork for the unit, such as warranty, installation/instruction guide, or registration form. In fact, we could not register the unit with Lennox because the unit number in the contract is incorrect. It was not until the unit stopped working, in July of 2024, and Putnam refused to service the unit, that we hired another HVAC company. The new HVAC company took a photo of the actual unit model no. which is TSA036S4N44Y. We registered the unit with Lennox after learning the correct model number and clearly could see there was never any warranty on the unit. When we contacted Putnam regarding the broken system, we were instructed to call any other HVAC company to honor the warranty (Putnam manager and owner knows there is no warranty). We called 2 HVAC companies to get estimates for repair. Both well known reputable companies, stated in their estimate that Putnam did NOT install the proper 3/8 inch line for the refrigerant. Putnam used an undersized liquid refrigerant line which damaged the thermal valve. The pressure resulting from the undersized line directly cause the A/C system failure. We are a small business, struggling to survive. Putnam's use of the undersized refrigerant line (which should have been 3/8" per the Lennox installation guide), AND Putnam fraudulently leading us to rely on a nonexistent 10-year manufacturer warranty need to be rectified. If I were to be gracious with their mistake, you could say Putnam "may have" accidentally entered the incorrect model number in the contract, but the statement of the "one year parts and labor warranty and ten-year manufacturer's warranty" is clearly a fraudulent statement used to convince us to use their services over their competitors. Due to Putnam's fraud and incompetence our unit was damaged. If you want to spend thousands of dollars on an HVAC unit, only for it to last less than 3 years and have to spend even more money to fix negligent work or to get an entirely new system, Putnam is the way to go for sure. For the cherry on top, their owner, Michael Fortin, will speak to you directly on the phone and repeat the lies in their contract verbatim to really double down on their fraudulent practices. So if you'd like someone to lie to your face, choose Putnam! Otherwise, I'd look elsewhere.

I did break-away to another company for a couple months, per a friend's recommendation, but went back to Andersen. The other company told me I'd have to replace my AC unit and my furnace. That was four years ago. I still have both units today and they are running great. The other company seemed more interested in what they could replace or sell you. You see them advertise everywhere. Andersen also recommended replacing my disposable air filters with stainless steel and mesh filters when we first moved in. They will replace them should they ever have a problem, mine still look new. Note: They aren't cheap, but mine has more than paid for themselves over the last nine years. All you have to do is vacuum the mesh screens, wash with your garden hose and let dry. I do this at the first of the month. I was VERY skeptical but bought one for the downstairs and upstairs. The airflow is much more powerful than your standard filter and less stress on your furnace. I'm also not making a trip to Lowe's and filling up our landfills with old filters. One of my better investments. Another nice thing is that we have had the same Andersen and Heating technician for the last three or four visits. Duncan is very professional and very knowledgeable and I hope he continues to be our service tech!

We had to replace our 112-year-old foundation. This was a huge, four-month-long project. To begin, we had to have our blowers moved out of the way for the duration of the work. Then, once the foundation was complete, we had to re-install them. When calling to remove the units in December 2021, I got an appointment for two days later. The two-man crew showed up early, removed the units, and were finished in less than two hours. I didn't suspect anything had changed with their service. In fact, the crew said I wasn't going to be billed until I reconnected the units. I was happy about that since the foundation work was extremely expensive! When removing the blowers, the R22 refrigerant must be collected and stored, since it's harmful to the environment. This refrigerant is worth more than $400 per pound in 2022 since it is no longer produced, and most units built prior to 2020 still need it for cooling. Fast forward four months. I called to schedule the reconnection. It took several weeks to get a call back to schedule a time for the work. After getting the first appointment, it was canceled two days later. After another week of calling back for a reschedule, I was put on for the following week. When four techs arrived, they said the ground was too soft to do the service then, they wanted to wait another two weeks. When the crew finally returned to re-install the units, I was happy I have Ring cameras all around the house, and inside too. One member was taking as many as five smoke breaks an hour (see attached images). The other was a slow mover and liked to take air-conditioned breaks in the van. Seven hours later the units were reinstalled, and we had cool air again! I was disappointed it took so long to get the reinstallation scheduled but was ok with the amount of time it took two people to reconnect, recharge, and get the units up and running again. Until I saw the bill. $2,414.00. There was only a single line item: "Remove outside units and reinstall". Even if you ignore the smoke breaks, phone calls, and air-conditioned breaks and assume they worked all 9 hours. That's $268.22 an hour for labor. Not to mention, that $2,400 would have been a significant down payment towards a new more efficient, and environmentally friendly system. When I called for an explanation, I never heard back. It's been almost a month of radio silence from them. I must wonder if the delay on reinstall was due to the value of the refrigerant that was reclaimed from my two systems. In the two systems, there were about 24 pounds of refrigerant. $9,600 is a great deal of money. When I started calling other HVAC companies to re-install my units, I would have had to buy that refrigerant to re-fill the systems. That's why I ultimately waited on G&S to complete the work.
